Stefan Simmonds was brought up in Bradford from the age of 13, when his father moved the family from the rural idyll of Harrogate, across the rolling hills outside Bradford to Halifax to run a camera shop.
Stefan began his retail career at Marks and Spencers, before setting up his own business with a discount shop, 'Super Simon' in Bradford city centre.
He went on to join Drummonds Mills managerial commitee, before eventually owning the business being a major force in the Bradford texile industry for 25 years.
He is now a highly succesful entrepeneur, with properties and businesses in and around West Yorkshire.

✡Here he talks about his early life in Harrogate, his move to Bradford and his involvement with the Jewish Community.

✡Also discussed is his forray into the textile business and his own later successes.

✡He remembers his younger brother, Nikolas Simmonds, who was a talented actor, director and drama teacher, who sadly passed away at the age of 55, several years ago.

✡He also looks back at his grandfather, Louis Simmonds, a violinist and band leader who used to play in London's silent theatres.
