Welcome to the Ontario Regiment RCAC Museum
The Ontario Regiment RCAC Museum is home to Canada's largest collection of operational historical military vehicles.
Our museum contains artifacts and stories detailing the military history of the Region of Durham and the development of the Ontario Regiment RCAC from independent rile companies in the 19th century to the Armoured Regiment it is today.
Our Museum has released a new interactive exhibit that tells the story in augmented reality. We have partnered with blippar, TalkingAncestors and Tanks-encyclopedia.com to bring our collection to life.
This is the first exhibt of it's kind in Canada one of the few museums in the world to use this technology.

Convoy to Remembrance
Documentary
The Ontario Regiment RCAC Museum
This past year was one full of commemoration and special anniversaries for Canada and the Canadian Armed Forces. We celebrated Canada150 and commemorated VIMY100, Passiondale100 just to name a few.
Remembrance Day also fell on a Saturday which would allow many more citizens of our country to partake in the annual parade and Remembrance ceremonies. Our museum decided to attempt something that had never been done before; to field over thirty historical military vehicles in the Oshawa Parade to honour our veterans and draw the City residents to the cenotaph in Memorial park.
Planning for this operation started many months prior and included meetings and preparation with many of our community's Service Clubs including the Royal Canadian Legion. To pull this off would take intense planning and cooperation with all involved.
What started as a story about Military vehicles in a parade turned into so much more as the film will show. The massive Tanks and Armoured vehicles become a backdrop to the story of the people behind the scenes that work so hard to make Remembrance Day meaningful. The volunteers from so many organizations including our own.
This is their story; the volunteers of the Museum, the Service Clubs, the Legions, the Ontario Regiment and the regular citizens of our country. This is how we came together to remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice in service of our community and our country.
We hope you enjoy the film and will share.

Ontario Regiment Museum's Tank Talks: Chieftain
I went to this tank museum in the City of Oshawa in Durham Region. I went there and I saw the presentation about the Chieftain tank and see it's running conditions. This Chieftain tank is a mark 11 version that was used to be a mark 8 before being upgraded with the latest technology. This is the second Chieftains that the museum owns which is a mark 10 Chieftain.
The museum president, Alan Duffy, made an excellent presentation about the history and the development of the British Army's tanks from post-World War 2
This tank museum is located in City of Oshawa which is a 45 minute to 1-hour drive from the City of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. This is a living-military museum and it has the largest collection of operational military vehicles in North America.

Ontario Regiment Museum's Tank Saturday: Ontario Regiment Day
I took another visit to this unique living-military museum in the City of Oshawa, Ontario Canada. The museum had a Tank Saturday to commemorate the Ontario Regiment since the regiment was founded on September 14, 1866. This tank museum is only a 1-only drive from the City of Toronto and it has the largest operational military vehicles in North America.

I had permission from the tower to fly here. A little bummed with the drone footage though. I was given a small window of time to fly. Used the wrong ND filter and settings. Made for some grainy footage. Plus the Mavic wouldn't fly over the area we were driving so I couldn't get any of the shots that I wanted.
Was an awesome day though!
