This was a commercial I created for the Miss Virginia USA/Miss Virginia Teen USA pageant to be held in Charlottesville, Virginia at the Paramount Theatre this November.
I wrote, shot and edited this. Editing and graphics done in Adobe After Effects CC 2014.
It was an honor to not only shoot on the stage of the Paramount Theater, but to work with Miss Virginia USA 2014 Arielle Rosmarino and Miss Virginia Teen USA 2014 Olivia Fletcher. They were certainly good sports throughout the shoot. Special thanks to Kim Nicewonder as well.

William Little Introduces 'Bonnie and Clyde' - #VaFilmFest 2017
University of Virginia film studies professor William Little introduces Bonnie and Clyde, a 1967 production directed by Arthur Penn, written by Robert Benton and David Newman, and starring Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway, along with Gene Hackman, Estelle Parsons, Gene Wilder, Denver Pyle, and Dub Taylor.
The film tells the story of bank robbers Clyde Barrow and Bonnie Parker and their gang in the early 1930s.
As noted in the Virginia Film Festival program, The infamous depression-era true crime romance between Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow begins when Clyde attempts to steal Bonnie’s mother’s car. Bonnie’s intrigue builds into infatuation. The young couple in love embarks on a crime spree throughout the country, robbing banks and stealing cars with the Barrow gang until their antics escalate into fierce violence. Strongly influenced by the taboo-breaking French New Wave film movement, Bonnie and Clyde was widely adored by young audiences of the New Hollywood era. It was one of the first one hundred films selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry and celebrates its 50th anniversary this year.:

Gov Terry McAuliffe Introduces 'Loving' at 2016 #VaFilmFest
At the 2016 Virginia Film Festival in Charlottesville, Governor Terry McAuliffe introduces the new film, Loving, directed by Jeff Nichols.
Loving tells the story of Mildred and Richard Loving, a mixed-race couple from Caroline County, Virginia, who were married in 1958, when such marriages were forbidden by Virginia law. They took their case to the United States Supreme Court, which ruled in 1967 (in Loving v. Virginia) that laws prohibiting interracial marriages were unconstitutional.
McAuliffe links the Loving case to the cases in more recent years (Windsor and Obergefell) that granted marriage equality across the country to include same-sex couples.
Terry McAuliffe, a Democrat, was elected governor of Virginia in 2013. His term ends in January 2018.

University of Virginia professors Larry Sabato and Julian Bond discuss the freedom rides prior to a screening of the documentary Freedom Riders by director Stanley Nelson at Charlottesville's Paramount Theater. Bond, professor of history at U.Va. and a longtime civil rights leader, is featured in the film. Sabato directs U.Va.'s Center for Politics, one of the event's sponsors in cooperation with the Virginia Film Festival and the Albemarle-Charlottesville NAACP.
