Cliveden and The Pavilion Spa ( slow motion )
Cliveden has a long tradition of fine food and warm hospitality. George Bernard Shaw enjoyed many a fine meal here as a guest of Lord and Lady Astor and would be equally enamoured by the first class cuisine offered at Cliveden today, which is available to House guests and visitors alike.
At Cliveden the cuisine, the wine, the service and the ambience all amaze in equal measure. No matter which restaurant you choose you will find courteous and attentive service, excellent food and palate-tingling wines, delivered in the most beautiful surroundings.
There are three very different restaurants from which to choose according to your mood and taste. For fine dining at its very best, we present Waldo's Restaurant. The Terrace Dining Room offers not only the finest classically inspired cuisine, but awe-inspiring views of the gardens and Cliveden Estate. For those of you who enjoy a more informal and relaxed atmosphere, the Club Room is open to House guests for breakfast, lunch and dinner where food is cooked to order and prepared in a gastro-pub style.
Whatever your preference, we endeavour to make every diner feel like a personal guest in a beautiful country home.

Magical Monkey Island Hotel , Bray , England
The Hotel and gardens occupy the whole of Monkey Island and is often used for Weddings. I believe it is possible to hire the whole island. Business conferences are also held here.
Kate & Pippa Middleton were bridesmaids here. The hotel can only be accessed by the footbridge or by boat. The Island and Hotel are named after the painting of monkeys in the original house that was constructed on the Island but the name probably derived from the Monks from the nearby abbey.
The island was shored up by rubble from the great fire of London.
Charles Spencer the Third Duke of Marlborough purchased the island in 1723 and built a fishing Pavilion and a Fishing Temple.
In 1840 it became a Riverside Inn which became very fashionable when King Edward the 7th and Queen Alexandra used to come for afternoon tea, it being a nice river trip from Windsor Castle.
H.G. Wells and Rebecca West stayed here. Rebecca set her first novel here Return of the Soldier.
The Pavilion and Temple are both Grade I listed buildings. There is a marvelous Singerie Monkey Roof (1738) in the lounge next to the hotel bar. Though easy to access by river Monkey Island is notoriously difficult to find by road there being only one access road.
This video was taken in November obviously the island would look better on a nice Summer's day.
