Scenes from Paradise: St Peter Peninsula | Makarska Riviera | Croatia
Whenever in Makarska, you'll somehow end up at St Peter's peninsula! One of the two bits of land that embrace the town, the one with the big St Peter monument on top, is a perfect getaway spot, and it's really close to town centre! First thing to do: climb to the top, near the monument, and take a selfie with the whole of Makarska behind you! This forest park is a special place, anytime you come here - you'll find yourself surrounded by history, romance and pure nature!
❤️ - For couples: except it's romantic environment, this place is dedicated to lovers. Lovelock. Couples in love are supposed to inscribe their names on a padlock, then lock it onto the bars of a specific fence along the promenade. The small piece of iron becomes a standing monument to love. Apparently, not even rust can destroy it.
???? - For nature lovers: you'll love this place! Salty sea fragrances, freshness of the mountains and the pine forest have therapeutic properties. Green and blue are your favorite colors, right? Your eyes will be gratefull.
???? - For athletes: St Peter's peninsula should be marked in every athlete's notebook as a great place for running, swimming, cycling, pilates, walking...
⛪ - For history lovers: traces of prehistoric settlements, as well as some parts of late antiquity and Venetian architecture can all be found on St. Peter's Peninsula.

Sv. Petar, (St. Peter) Makarska, Croatia Pictures by Armand Rroshi Photography
Sv. Petar (Sveti Petar, St. Peter) is a small peninsula at the port entrance of Makarska, Croatia. It is named after a 13th-century chunch of St. Peter. Today the peninsula serves as a city park and beach. The rocky beach on the outside of the peninsula is clothing optional but mostly used by naturists. Nearby the beach is the Sv. Petar lighthouse, built in 1884.
St. Peter lighthouse was built in 1884 on the peninsula of the same name that is placed at the entrance to the town of Makarska, in the vicinity of one of the most beautiful beaches on the Adriatic. The lighthouse is a 20 minute walk from the center of Makarska
THE STORY
It is not known who named the lighthouse after the saint, the first apostle and martyr who also holds the key to heaven's gate. Nevertheless, this magnificent peninsula and the lighthouse on it resemble heaven due to beautiful beaches, crystal clear sea and Biokovo Mountain in the background.
The town of Makarska is one of the best known tourist destinations on the Adriatic and, apart from its beaches, offers many sports activities. The vicinity of Makarska, with numerous places to go out to, makes this lighthouse an exclusive holiday destination.
We recommend to those traveling by car one-day trips to Biokovo and its highest peak Sv. Jure, where you can try paragliding and enjoy the most beautiful sunsets in this part of Europe. An asphalt road leads to Biokovo and there are road signs that will safely take you to a well-kept belvedere.
Makarska has long been known as the main hideout for many couples in love. The favorite place of all couples in love is the peninsula of Saint Peter.
The peninsula is interesting because of its pristine nature of narrow paths, benches where Lovebirds often enjoy the sunset and often welcome the summer mornings when the sun appears above Mt.
For all that he was born an interesting custom, namely couples have begun to prove their love to leave a locked padlock on the fence below the statue of St. Peter, as proof of his love, and then he threw the keys into the sea.
Love locks on the St.. Peter in Makarska
Love locks on the St.. Peter in Makarska
It is very interesting that the fence with a padlock is located just below the statue of St. Peter holding a key. Is it a coincidence or not, time will tell, and if you want your love lasts forever definitely worth a try. Come to Makarska and lock their love forever

MAKARSKA BEACHES - - The Real Pearl of the Croatian Adriatic
MAKARSKA BEACHES
by
Many Makarska beaches are rightly considered the real pearl of the Adriatic. Known throughout the world as the center of events during the summer months, little can be left indifferent. In the northwestern part there are a number of small beaches that are formed in rocky coves and which, apart from the unusual beauty, provide a somewhat intimate space for relaxation and relaxation.
The central part is a spacious and several kilometers long pebble beach, partly covered with centuries-old pine trees. Since the early morning, in the heart of the season, there is a pulsating pulsation rarely seen in the Adriatic. Thousands of tourists, Makarans, sellers, caterers - all in the inevitable summer encounter. Those who came to look for a little refreshment and society will certainly enjoy the benefits of the sea and the rest on the pebbly shore of the most famous beaches of the Adriatic.
The rocky coastline stretching from the disco bar Beach to the St. Peter lighthouse and further on the peninsula of the same name, is the right shelter from the snare for the acquaintances and the lovers of the clear sea. Something further sharp stone shroud is hiding in its nests by the naturist swimsuit's intimacy.
The facilities at Makarska beach will satisfy even the most delicious tastes. A water park for children, bungee jumping, pedal boats, jet skis, paragliders, rental boats and speedboats are just part of the offer. Changing rooms and toilets are almost at every turn. The need to limit water consumption in the heart of the season has affected the fact that the showers are paid, but there are more than enough. If you do not want to carry your beach equipment at your disposal you are renting sun loungers and sunshades at affordable prices in very attractive locations. Several entrance to the sea adapted for people with disabilities. On the beach, a permanent rescue service is organized on easily visible observation posts.
Catering on the beach working almost 24 hours a day. A lot of cafes, restaurants, bars, pizzerias will satisfy everyone's taste, but of course everyone's pocket. For the everyday needs you will find many grocery stores, plenty of fruit and vegetable stalls or beach accessories. From drinking morning coffee, while only the first swimmers winning beach, to the top entertainment in one of the lounge and cocktail bars that begins afternoon breeze, and ends somewhere far away in the morning, everyone will find their place and their own experience of summer.
As a special curiosity, you will notice an electric train crashing through the steady crowd. With a low price you can save yourself a hike from the city center to Cvitačka, Blaca, Ramova, the farthest beaches in the western part of town.
By constructing a breakwater, Makarska harbor was also given a new place for swimmers who gravitate to the eastern part of the city. Formerly reserved for persistent enthusiasts, the area around the hotel Osejava and the disco club Deep is now becoming an increasingly interesting gathering place. For the bravest ones, and many Makarans will tell you - for true connoisseurs, area of the peninsula Osejava is the quietest and cleanest beach in Makarska.
After a couple of kilometers of hiking, you will come to the real gem of the Makarska Riviera - to the beach Nugal. Known as a gathering place for naturists, nudists, general swimmers with slightly more liberal attitudes will enchant you with its almost intimate peace, but also with incredibly pure blue sea. Only accessible to pedestrians or sea-side boats, this beach surrounded by steep cliffs and dense pine forests will remain forever in every memory.
