Western Sydney recorded 40s Hot Weather Temperatures Approach Heat Haze Sea Fog
After a day of relief following Friday's sizzler, Sydney is again sweating due to a mass of hot air that moved across state which has also caused more than 50 fires to burn out of control across the state. This morning some coastal residents also woke to a mysterious fog but weather experts have put it down to just condensed cloud close to the water which can be caused by a range of factors including humidity and temperature. The temperature in Richmond, western Sydney recorded a record high of 45.2C, the hottest day since 1982 when the mercury reached 43.6C. Peter Zmijewski, senior meteorologist at Bureau of Meteorology, told Daily Mail Australia that the high temperatures were not unseasonal but because of the changing seasons. He said: 'This time of the year it’s a transition in the season and there are a lot of adjustments going on, this is why we can experience very hot and cold in the same day.
#Ultimate heat haze: Packed beaches are shrouded in sea fog as temperatures approach the roaring 40s
#Hot weather is stretching right across the nation
#After a scorcher on Friday, New South Wales is again sweltering with top temps reaching 44 degrees in Penrith
#Experts say the change of seasons is why the weather has been so hot as we get towards summer
#Heat haze put down to condensed cloud, from humidity and temperature
#Richmond in west Sydney has broken a record, the hottest day since 1982, reaching 45.2 degrees
#51 fires burning out of control across NSW with three fires in the watch and act stage
'Tomorrow is going to be hot in the north eastern part of the state will still have pretty high temperatures. Normal temperatures for this time of year are 27C inland and about 23C in the coastal areas. 'The steam fog which we saw across Sydney today could have been caused by many factors but we don't know the exact cause of this phenomenon. It does not matter how hot or cold it is and they can happen at any time of day, why they appear is not simple.'

Men of Wood & Foam Trailer
Men of Wood & Foam tells the story of the pioneers of the Australian surfboard industry, uncovering a golden decade in surfing, starting in 1956, when surfing was transformed into a sport and culture with its very own music, movies, fashion and heroes. Underpinning this exciting transformation was a small group of artisans who started out in the 1950s making wooden surfboards in their backyards along Sydney's eastern beaches, before eventually moving to Brookvale where they experimented with blowing foam to make lighter and more responsive surfboards from plastic. These pioneers, Barry Bennett, Scott Dillon, Denny Keogh, Greg McDonagh, Bill Wallace and Gordon Woods, became known as 'The Brookvale Six'. By 1958 The Brookvale Six were building Malibu Chip boards from balsa wood - and by the start of the 1960s, surfboard riding really began to take off when they produced the first lightweight foam boards, kicking off a huge Australian surfing boom. The Brookvale Six not only supplied the entire country with surfboards but also made design breakthroughs that put Australia at the forefront of the sport for decades - inspiring a never-before-seen evolution in Australian surf culture. Narrated by Dan Wyllie, Men of Wood & Foam includes interviews with Patricia 'Little Pattie' Amphlett, as well as surfing legends Mark Richards, Nat Young, Layne Beachley and the late Midget Farrelly. It also features in-depth interviews with all members of The Brookvale Six, and contains rare archival surfing footage spanning seven decades in a truly iconic time in Australian sporting and cultural history. 2016 Foxtel Management Pty Limited/Phil Jarratt Communications Pty Ltd.

Terry Fitzgerald 'The Sultan of Speed'
Hey Folks. This clip is from Hot buttered Soul The Movie available online at raisedbywolves.com.au

Terry Fitzgerald 'The Sultan of Speed'
Never anything but individual, Terry Fitzgerald emerged at the start of surfing's true pro era -- the '70s -- and played a key role in finally pushing high performance way clear of the sport's longboarding roots and into the realm of the power carve. In his prime, he's represented the peak example of the total surfer -- a man who could ride any wave, anywhere, on his own equipment, without compromise.
Born in Sydney, Fitzgerald grew up playing rugby football and learning to surf at Maroubra Beach. Later, his family moved to Sydney's northern beaches, near Narrabeen, where he quickly made a reputation as a brilliant, flamboyant surfer who played by his own rules -- willing to try anything if he felt it might advance his skills. Late in 1969, he moved to Queensland briefly to join the Kirra Boardriders -- where the action was in Aussie surfing at the time. Kirra's unofficial HQ was Joe Larkin's surfboard factory, where the likes of Bob McTavish, Peter Drouyn, Peter Townend and Michael Peterson worked or got boards. After learning some of the surfboard craft under Larkin, Fitzgerald moved back to Sydney and created his own label. In 1970, he started Hot Buttered in a dilapidated wooden house in the industrial suburb of Brookvale.
That same season, he went to Hawaii, and his surfing at Rocky Point and Sunset blew minds. Footage from the movie Morning of the Earth shows a creative, super-fit Fitzgerald drawing lines all over the place with amazing speed and flair. He met Dick Brewer and started a great design collaboration that included Reno Abellira, Sam Hawk and Owl Chapman. This resulted in modern mainstays like the spiral vee (a basic double concave) and wings.
Back in Australia, Fitzgerald carried his design thoughts into Hot Buttered, working with the super-hot performance school at North Narrabeen. Surfers and shapers who passed through his factory over the years include Simon Anderson, Col Smith, Derek Hynd, Steve Wilson, Greg Day, Greg Webber and many more. Along with their unique design twists, his boards became famous for the airbrush spray work of Martin Worthington, who drew anything from leaping dolphins to psychedelic sunsets.
Fitzgerald's competitive surfing hit a peak in 1975 with his Australian Open title win and a victory at the Lightning Bolt pro event at Velzyland. He also won the first major pro event in Indonesia, the OM-Bali Pro at perfect, big Uluwatu in 1980 and was ranked ninth in the world in 1977. But his involvement in surfing has gone far beyond competition. Always a pioneer, Fitzgerald became one of the first big-name surfers to explore Indonesia. He went to Grajagan in 1973 with Gerry Lopez and Sumbawa the '80s before most surfers had even heard the names. His outrageous body-torqued surfing at Jeffreys Bay , South Africa, in 1977 led the sharp-witted Australian surf journalist Phil Jarratt to nickname him the Sultan of Speed. Fitzgerald publicly shunned the moniker but privately loved it, using the name on a late '80s Hot Buttered video series.

FUJI X-T2 4k Sample Footage
Shot some 4k footage today with my new Fuji X-T2 to test the video capabilities.
I am not a professional. Just static shots (i don't own a tripod-head for video yet).
Lenses Used:
FUJINON XF60mm F2.4 R Macro
FUJINON XF10-24mm F4 R OIS (with Genustech Solar Eclipse ND+Polarizer-Filter)
FUJINON XF55-200mm F3.5-4.8 R LM OIS
Verdict so far:
+ Super sharp
+ Wonderful Fuji-colors
- Rolling shutter is pretty severe. So no action running around filming with this
- Judging correct exposure on EVF/LCD-Screen is a little tricky, but i am still getting to know the camera (it's my first Fuji camera)
- With the 55-200 Telezoom you definitely see heat wave distortion (not a fault of the camera)
What i learned:
Video with OIS on with wide lenses is fine but not with long zoom lenses.
Would have loved to try the F-Log mode, but i don't have an external recording device (and i wouldn't want to carry one around). I hope they will implement internal F-Log recording with a firmware-update sometime in the future.
Shot in Cologne, Germany.
