Rare snow leopard twins born in NW China

A zoo on the Qinghai-Tibet plateau just announced that it has successfully bred a pair of snow leopard cubs. The twin cubs were born on June 14 in the Wildlife Park of Xining, capital of northwest China's Qinghai Province.

Leopards returning to the forests of Qinghai Province

The local forestry service in Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, northwest China's Qinghai Province, has released video of a leopard and other rare animals living in the area.

The cameras also captured images of Chinese serows, blood pheasants, white eared pheasants, Alpine musk deer and red deer.

China’s High-altitude Qinghai Province Home to Rare Leopards

In 2017 alone, around 10 leopards were sighted by planted cameras in northwest China's Qinghai Province, which is located 4,000-plus meters above the sea level.

Newly released footage from early 2017 showed leopards in grasslands and forests of Qinghai's Zadoi County and along the headstreams of the Lancang River.
