The best of Orlando -
Journey through ancient and modern China while watching this 14-minute Circle-Vision 360° film, screening in the China Pavilion.
Go Behind the Great Wall
Follow along as Tang Dynasty poet Li Bai guides you through the sights and sounds of China.
Float down the Haungpu River to Shanghai, one of China’s most modern and vibrant cities, and see historic Nanjing Road. Witness martial artistry in the gentle, fluid movements of tai chi and the agile acrobatics of the Peking Opera Company.
Scale the hauntingly beautiful Huangshan mountain range to the mythical Sea of Clouds, the inspiration of poets and painters for centuries. Then follow the Yangtze River to the water-bound city of Suzhou, dubbed “the Venice of the East” by Marco Polo.
There’s even more to savor: watch as regional delicacies are prepared on the spot at a busy night market in Xinjiang Province, and trek across the Gobi Desert on the ancient Silk Road to Inner Mongolia, where nomadic horsemen ride free. Enter the walls of Beijing’s impossibly vast Forbidden City, and explore the craggy formations of Shilin Stone Forest.
And thanks to spectacular wraparound Circle-Vision 360° cinematography, you'll feel as if you're really there!

The Siza Pavilion
The Siza Pavilion for the Chinese premium furniture brand CAMERICH at the China International Furniture Fair (CIFF) in Shanghai and the accompanying design forum are the result of a cooperation between CAMERICH, CIFF and Aedes Architecture Forum Berlin. The entire pavilion appears as a fusion of the Siza-typical sequences of rooms and light, stimulated by observations and reflections make during his recent visit to Bruno Taut's Horseshoe Housing Estate (Hufeisensiedlung) in Berlin.
Small courtyard-inversions in the pavilion's architecture evoke influences of Chinese building culture, which may result from Siza having realized a number of projects throughout China in recent years. The outer skin of the pavilion is fully covered in aluminium-coated insulation material, giving the unexpected appearance of a blurry-mirroring spaceship wrapped in silver, soft-cushion. A small selection of furniture and lamps designed by Álvaro Siza are the only exhibits in the pavilion.
The pavilion was made possible with the coordination of Chinese liaison architect Zhang Ke and consultancy of the Portuguese architect António Choupina. The final drawings were delivered by Álvaro Siza and his team in June 2019. As a prefabricated structure, the pavilion itself will be built in China in August, and then re-assembled and installed for indoor use at the CIFF. Source by Aedes.

Chinese Kunqu Opera-Tha Palace of Eternal Youth-長生殿-2
The Dream Music
Translation by
Yang Xianyi and Gladys Yang(楊憲益戴乃迭)
Chang'e:
I'm Chang'e, Goddess of the moon. I have a melody called The Dance of the Rainbow and Feathery Garments, long kept in th moon and unknown to man. Now the Tang emperor on the earth below is fond of music, and his concubine Yang Yuhuan was a fairy maid on the fairy mountain, who used to visit me during her last life. I will summon her spirit to hear this tune again, so that when she awakes she can transcribe it, carrying the music of heaven to ,ortals on earth. Come on, Hanhuang!
Hanhuang:
Ready, my lady!
Chang'e:
Go to the Tang palace and bring the sleeping Yang Yuhuan's spirit here. When the dance has been played, you may send her back. Through this fairy dream we shall secretly teach the girl our immotal dance.
Hanhuang:
Leaving the splendid heavens, my jade pendants quiver,
My gown reflecting brightness as I tread on rosy clouds.
I must call her sleeping spirit to the moon.
Here is the Tand palace.
Get up, Lady Yang!
Lady:
Still drowsy with sleep, I rise
And slowly draw back the curtains.
Oh, it is a palace maid.
Hanhuang:
I'm not a palace maid, I'm not concubine either. I'm a fairy maid from the moon, called Hanhuang.
Lady:
Oh so you are a fairy maid from the moon! How did you come here?
Hanhuang:
Just now my mistress, the goddess of the moon,
Ordered me to invite you to enjoy our cassia blossoms in our palace.
Lady: Can it be true!
Hanhuang: Don't hesitate my lady. Let me lead the way, Come with me!
Together:
We fly towards the azure sky,
While clouds float past beneath our feet.
Stars are so near that we could reach out to pluck them.
we see the glorious palace of the moon
Like a reflection in a rounded mirror.
Lady:
This is mid-summer, but how I feel so cold?
Hanhuang:
It's the palace of boundless cold you mortals call. You may enter now!
Lady:
Tonight I, an ordinary mortal, have come to the moon! How fortunate I am!
Look! There is a group of fairies in white tunics and red skirts coming this way, playing music. How sweet the melody is!
Hanhuang:
This is the Dance of the Rainbow and Feathery Garments.Marvellous music, so clear and melodious, That moves my heart strangely!

[4K] China Pavilion | Epcot
The best of Orlando -
You enter the China Pavilion through a distinct triple arched ceremonial gate patterned after the Temple of Heaven in Beijing.
This pavilion appears to be divided in two. The left side is more commercial while the right is more picturesque.
The China pavilion deserves a close look. It is quite pretty and the intricacy of the carvings is amazing. If you're looking for a spot where you can enjoy a few minutes of peace, this is it. There are footbridges, bamboo groves, a small waterfall, and ponds which provide the perfect getaway from the crowds.
Attractions
Throughout the day you'll often find Mulan and/or Mushu available for meet and greets.
The Jeweled Dragon Acrobats entertain guests throughout the day. When these children perform, it always attracts a good sized crowd.
Also be sure to check out the replica of the Terracotta Army. The figures, dating from 210 BC, were discovered in 1974 by some local farmers near Xi'an, Shaanxi province, China near the Mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor.
Reflections of China
Reflections of China is a 360º Circle-Vision film shown in the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvest. This movie features footage of China including the Great Wall, the Forbidden City of Beijing, the Gobi Desert, Inner Mongolia, the Yangtze River and the tropical rain forests of Hainan Island. Reflections of China was updated in 2017 with a a brand new digital camera system to create a seamless new film.
There is no seating in this theatre, only rails for guests to lean against so that they can fully experience the Circle-Vision effect. Not overly thrilling, but rarely busy so if you're looking for a place to either cool off, dry off or escape crowds, this is an option to keep in mind.
Shopping
House of Good Fortune is one of the largest shopping destinations in the World Showcase. It has a wide variety of merchandise from silk clothing, lacquer and mother-of-pearl inlay furniture, Yixing teapots and jade carvings, to stuffed pandas, incense, candles, and paper fans. Beijing Cloisonne Ware is one of the specialty items found here, as well as, Chinese lanterns, Oriental carpets, and Jingdezhen Chinaware. In the jewelry section of the store you will find gorgeous coral, jade, and crystal pieces. After walking through the entire shop you exit into an open air market that offers books on meditation, calligraphy and the Chinese language. You will also find childrens’ toys and Kidcot.
Dining
If you have a craving for Chinese food, there's the Nine Dragons Restaurant, the Lotus Blossom Cafe quick service, and the Joy of Tea quick service spots.
The Nine Dragons restaurant is one of the few restaurants in the World Showcase where you'll often find availability. (Kind of a hint that it's not a top choice, but it's not totally awful either.) The Lotus Blossom Café is a quick service restaurant.

The Summer Palace in Winter | Beijing, China | Yiheyuan
For over 200 years, the Summer Palace has served as the vacation spot for those in China's government. This beautifully crafted landscape was designed to complement the surrounding nature. In the summer you can take a boat ride along the Kunming Lake, and in the summer you can skate on the ice. I visited in late January so I rented a metal scooter and ice picked my way across the frozen water. On the other side you'll find Longevity Hill. Climb 150 steps to get a wonderful vantage point of this tranquil escape. There is also a stunning four-tiered Buddhist pavilion.

Peace Pavilion 2019 - Architectural project walk through .
The aim of this competition is to design a ‘Peace Pavilion’ in Paris that would exhibit the virtues of hope and tolerance, translated through the language of art and architecture.
The pavilion should be a free standing temporary structure that can host a variety of activities and exhibitions. The competition hopes to achieve the following:
Stimulate and educate people about the virtues of social and religious harmony.
The pavilion should serve as a place for personal reflection, a thinking place, where the visitors can contemplate and introspect. The structure should reflect and educate the
people about the crisis situations around the globe and drive them to come out of their comfort zones and work for world peace. The pavilion should be a space with neither
religious nor political ties, where the visitor will have an opportunity to reflect in silence. The pavilion should strive to achieve social harmony and balance, and showcase a
utopian world far from the ongoing dystopia.
Translate the message of peace through the language of art and architecture.
Art and architecture have been a very potent medium to depict and portray social, political and cultural scenarios since ages. Art is a broad discourse that encompasses
literature, dance, music, painting and numerous other categories. The competition seeks the inclusion of art, in any form, pure or translated, within the pavilion. The participants
are free to create their content and function of the pavilion, which could depict situations or events, showcase the horrors and trauma of people and inspire them to stop the
menace of terror and promote peace. Art could be a permanent part of the pavilion’s architectural concept or used in the functional aspect of the structure independent of the
mass.

STORYLINE
VERSACE'S FIRST FASHION SHOW IN CHINA
Italian luxury Fashion house Versace held its first fashion show in China near Beijing Tiananmen Square on Friday (14 NOV 2008) raising more than $100,000 for charity.
A host of celebrities including Hollywood action star Jet Li attended the event which was held in the prestigious Legation Quarter home to the former US Embassy in Imperial China.
The show was held together with a charity auction with Jet Li's One Foundation to raise funds for victims of the devastating earthquake in May which took place in China's Sichuan province.
Despite a looming global recession, Versace says it is optimistic that sales will continue to be strong and believes that demand for luxury brands Asia will help it ride out the financial storm.
Versace is investing $56.5 million (US) dollars to strengthen its presence in Asia and is opening 11 new stores this year - nine in Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan and China, and two in Europe, including a home furnishings store in Milan.
Using only Chinese models on a circular runway which is a replica to the one it has in Milan, Versace unveiled its 2009 Spring/Summer collection to over 900 of Asia's celebrities, socialites and officials.
