More information about the video content bellow:
1. The Northern Territory is a federal Australian territory in the central and central northern regions of Australia. Despite its large area—covering 1,349,129 square kilometres , making it the third largest Australian federal division, and the 11th largest country subdivision in the world—it is sparsely populated. The Northern Territory's population of 244,000 (2016) makes it the least populous of Australia's eight major states and territories, having fewer than half as many people as Tasmania.
2. The archaeological history of the Northern Territory begins over 40,000 years ago when Indigenous Australians settled the region. The coast of the territory was first seen by Europeans in the 17th century. The British were the first Europeans to attempt to settle the coastal regions. After three failed attempts to establish a settlement , success was achieved in 1869 with the establishment of a settlement at Port Darwin.
3. The capital and largest city is Darwin. Darwin's proximity to South East Asia makes it a link between Australia and countries such as Indonesia and East Timor. The Stuart Highway begins in Darwin, ending at Port Augusta in South Australia. The city has been almost entirely rebuilt four times, following devastation caused by the 1897 cyclone, the 1937 cyclone, Japanese air raids during World War II, and Cyclone Tracy in 1974.
4. Kakadu National Park is a protected area in the Northern Territory of Australia, 171 km southeast of Darwin. The park is located within the Alligator Rivers Region of the Northern Territory.
5. Only Aussies would take one of the driest towns in the world, with only 11 inches of rain a year, and decide to run a regatta. It must be said this isn’t your typical boating event. It’s known as the Henley-on-Todd regatta and consists of a medley of land-based ‘boat races’ on the bone-dry Todd River bed. These range from DIY dinghies strapped to competitors shoulders, to huge lumbering pirate ships, ploughing through the red dirt of Alice Springs.
6. The tiny town of Daley Waters (pop. 23) in the Northern Territory is about a third of the way from Darwin to Alice Springs, and has a couple of strings to its bow. Not only does it have the honour of having the Territory’s oldest pub, it also has the most isolated and remote set of traffic lights in the country. There isn’t another set within 500km of Daley. It’s so remote that you have to wonder what point it really serves in a town where lamingtons probably outnumber people.
7. Uluṟu-Kata Tjuṯa National Park is a protected area located in Northern Territory of Australia. The park is home to both Uluru and Kata Tjuta. It is located 1,943 kilometres south of Darwin by road and 440 kilometres south-west of Alice Springs along the Stuart and Lasseter Highways.

'stArts with D' SELFIES
Earlier this year Incite Arts hosted a creative writing workshop program with 11 participants from a number of services coming together at the Alice Springs Residency for 5 days of creative fun with visiting poet Katie Keys.
Delving into the world of language and communication participants explored the notion of ‘self-portrait’ and how to express ideas through the art of poetry. There was even a spontaneous song-writing session!
Through a combination of group-writing exercises, poetry worksheets, collage and recording of spoken responses, participants from Life Without Barriers, Acacia Hill School and Centralian Middle School and casa Inc created 77 poems under the title: ‘SELFIES’!
The writing and photographs taken by participants were then turned into memes, creating an exciting new way for individual to express themselves and their perceptions about themselves and of each other.
