from Knorrit Flats to Gloucester Stroud Rd Dungog
Heading up the bumpy track from Knorrit Flats and backroads to Bundook across the Manning River, Lunch stop and some bottled gas at Gloucester then south via Bucketts Way to Stroud Way and across west along more bumpy back roads beside the rail line to Dungog.
We had an overnight at the showground in Dungog, listened to Macca on Sunday morning.
We had a pleasant winding hilly drive to East Gresford then further west along Gresford Rd to Glendon Brook past Manresa where I photographed Larry's new white gate!
A nice cruise via Singleton to Cessnock for some diesel, then south to the Sydney Newcastle freeway and home via the Pennant Hills Rd Traffic and Heatherbraes at Sallys Corner for a lemon custard slice.

Victor Gregg joined the British Army in 1937 and after six months training was posted to 2nd Battalion The Rifle Brigade in India. The Battalion moved to Palestine in 1939 and became involved in the bitter conflict between Jewish settlers and Palestinians before being moved to North Africa where he spent the next three years fighting in the western desert. The battle of Beda Fomm, often described as 'the classic victory', was his baptism of fire; after three days of bitter fighting blocking the Italian 10th Army withdrawal from Cyrenaica, 25,000 Italians surrendered.

The Boys’ Brigade was founded in Glasgow, Scotland, in 1883 by Sir William Alexander Smith. It is a Christian based Youth Organisation run by Volunteers. Still going strong in the 21st. Century and worldwide. A Stronghold for Boys from 5 to 18 years of age. Effectively in four sections. Anchor Boys, Juniors, Company and Senior Sections, (1977). An integral part of the provision is The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme which features in the film. This Expedition facet is hard work in wild or semi wild country. Whilst aspects of the Boys’ Brigade’s work are serious, it is essential that the Boys enjoy it and be allowed rein to introduce some fun into it. – This is what a life time’s memories are all about! The Girls Brigade is also featured.
