Inspired by the life of Rock legend Marc Bolan, 20th Century Boy is a dazzling stage musical telling the tragic story about one of Britain’s greatest rock stars who tragically died in a car crash just two weeks before his 30th birthday in 1977.
Featuring some of the greatest pop songs ever written, 20th Century Boy tells the story of Marc Bolan and his band T.Rex from his early teens in the sixties in North London, where he was trying anything to be famous, first through fashion and then through his skill as a songwriter, exposing some of the myths and taking the audience on a tearful, yet joyful journey through Marc's fascinating life.
Bolan lived life at breakneck speed and when success came, it was massive, leading to a string of number one hits, an army of obsessive fans and the band to be called ‘bigger than The Beatles’ by the British media.
The musical is packed with 24 of Marc’s legendary hits performed ‘live’ on stage and recreating the awesome sound of the 70s. A glorious story and celebration of glam rock at its colourful best!
Rocker, poet, electric warrior, king of glam and godfather of punk, Bolan was arguably the biggest rock star the UK had ever seen.
Featuring the smash hits; Get It On, Ride A White Swan, Metal Guru, I Love To Boogie, Hot Love, 20th Century Boy and many many more.

The Waterworks
The Waterworks was constructed in the early 1880's on a small man-made island in the middle of a river. When The Waterworks came online, it provided clean drinking water at a rate of 3.8 Million gallons per day. The population of the surrounding neighborhoods expanded quickly, however, in the years following the Civil War and with it came an increased demand for water. In 1886, a new engine was installed, capable of delivering 10 Million gallons per day. In the early 1900's, The Waterworks was working on new water filtration techniques and built a large new filtration plant and laboratory on site. Demand for clean water continued to increase, so in 1911, the waterworks installed the massive 5 story Allis Chalmers steam engine you see here which by itself had a capacity of 20 Million gallons per day. This steam engine stands 50 feet tall and each of its 32-ton flywheels can push 607 gallons of water with each revolution. Soon afterward, in 1915, the No. 3 Allis Chalmers pump was installed (which is the strange looking grey pump also shown here) and the capacity of this smaller pump was actually nearly double the big one, at 36 Million gallons per day. By the mid 1900's, the Waterworks was operating at its peak of 100 Trillion gallons per year, but by this time was showing its age.
While this Waterworks is credited for having pioneered the use of activated carbon in water purification in the 1920's, a newer and more state of the art facility was built nearby and subsequently took over water treatment for the area. In May of 1990, after over 100 years of continuous operation, The Waterworks shut down for good. For nearly 30 years now, the plant has been sitting idle while politicians and local residents battle over whether to preserve it as a park and museum or to simply demolish and divide up the land.
This is one of a multi-part update from our recent 2,600 mile road trip.

Song Lyrics: I couldn’t hold a candle to you anymore.
That record stands and we know you won’t forget the score.
But don’t blame me if somehow I forget your name.
It’s just that vacant faces tend to look the same.
Sending signals but we’re easily distracted from the truth.
It’s an art that we learn.
No you never had the courage to burn.
Running on empty words,
You’ll wonder how they got up the nerve.
And gave up the routine.
Ambitions a dream,
With a V8 engine.
They cut the brakes, and then fall into the front door.
Back by demand and it looks like we are done for.
Out of your depth you force a smile with a sense of shame.
Enough to make them think, you played the perfect game.
Sending signals but we’re easily distracted from it all.
It’s an art that we learn, but the lines are all getting blurred.
No you never had the courage to burn.
Running on empty words,
You’ll wonder how they got up the nerve.
And gave up the routine.
Ambitions a dream,
With a V8 engine.
Let’s talk avant-garde,
And kickstart my Car Heart.
And we learn,
No you never had the courage to burn.
Running on empty words,
You’ll wonder how they got up the nerve.

The UK's Most HAUNTED Homes #4 | The SÉANCE | The DEAD Speak | GHOSTS Of Smithills House
Join Paranormal-X, Proving Demons and Really haunted Events as we investigate what some say is the most haunted home in the UK. That is Smithills House, Bolton, Lancashire, England.
There has been a building here on this land since the early 13th Century. The major families that have been constant throughout history with this property were the Radcliffes, Ainsworths, and Bartons. Little is known about the Radcliffes and Bartons, however the Radcliffes were present in the War at Agincourt and the War of the Roses – on the Lancastrian side. In 1801 Richard Ainsworth purchased the Smithills Hall. The Ainsworths were successful bleachers, and were made very wealthy during the time of the Industrial Revolution.
Richard’s grandson inherited Smithills in 1870 and hired the architect George Davey to remodel the 16th Century parts of the building and to add further wings to the already vast property.Nigel Ainsworth inherited the Hall in 1926 and it was he who sold the Hall onto the Bolton Council in 1938 for the princely sum of £70,000. The oldest part of the home was opened as a museum in 1963 and the rest of the property was used as a residential home and day centre. Today the Hall has many uses including museum, restaurant, wedding venue, and home to the paranormal.
This is a real hive of activity if the reports are anything to go by. Most Haunted investigated here and uncovered several interesting occurrences to say the least.
A mischevious spirit is said to pinch staff and visitors bottoms and there have also been reports of visitors being touched particularly near the stairs area between the Bower and Solar rooms. A lady in period dress has also been seen to walk the stairs. People have reported smelling burning wood and orbs have been regularly caught on camera.
There’s a small boy with long black curly hair known as Tommy who has been felt in the Solar room by mediums. The presence of a young girl has also been touched on. People who have been in the withdrawing room have seen figures dressed in soldier uniform walking past the windows outside. They’re thought to be that of Royalists soldiers who passed through here during the Civil War.
The church plays host to a grey lady who has been seen sitting in one of the front pews, and a spirit who has been seen knelt down at the altar. George Marsh who was a local curate was tried in the court room here and was sentenced to death at the stake. His footprint is said to be left in the flagstone on the way up to the room were he was held. This was removed by one of the residents here but it was reported that there was an uproar of poltergeist activity and it was placed back facing the wrong way. People have refused to enter the room because of the feeling of a malevolent spirit lurking around there.
The most recent report of the paranormal was that of a short figure with black hair and old clothes being seen crouched down near a tour guide in the Tea Room. The guide later looked at the Foxe’s Book of English Martyrs’ and was shocked to see just how alike George Marsh he was.
On many occasions the manager of the shop in the Hall has been looking into a certain mirror only to see a tall man with white bushy hair dressed in black standing in the doorway and sometimes near the stairs. When the house was a residential home security guards regularly reported horse galloping outside the front of the house.
