Te Marua to Pakuratahi Forks (Rivendell) - Upper Hutt
Starting from the twin water storage lakes in Te Marua, this ridge track meanders through to Pakuratahi Forks, also known as Rivendell, after several scenes in Lord of Rings were filmed here. There's even a replica of the arch that's been built. The tracks are some of the best single track in the area. Best done north to south if you are only going one direction.

View to Wellington from Mount Kaukau, New Zealand
Mount Kaukau is in Wellington, New Zealand on the western side of Wellington harbour near Johnsonville and Khandallah. The summit is 445 metres above sea level and is the most visible high point in the Wellington landscape further accentuated by Wellington's main television transmitter tower the Kordia TV transmitter mast, which stands a little over 100m tall. There is also a compass pedestal placed at the top. Spectacular views of the city, harbour and the Rimutaka and Tararua Ranges can be experienced from the summit. On a clear day Mt. Tapuaeoenuku and the Bryant Range in the South Island may be seen, whilst northwest is the Porirua Basin and the broad expanse of the Tasman Sea.

Te Ahumairangi Hill - Wellington
The awesome, steep and knarly trails of Te Ahumairangi. Just 5 minutes from Wellington's CBD and home to the now infamous Bill English 'Run/Walk' trail.
Witness my fearless descent into the old (rumoured) gold prospecting tunnel. Cower in fear at the whiteness of my legs, and hopefully, if you survive all that, enjoy the views of the city!

Tunnel Gully
A quick blast up Tunnel Gulley, was a bit slippery going down on the lower pig track. Unfortunately, you cannot notice as I'm using a single axis gimbal.
I am still very new to the MTB scene but I'm loving it every step of the way.
