Railay Beach | Krabi | Thailand
Went back to Railay, Thailand this year and I brought my drone along for the trip. So I decided to create a short video of my experience there. Trying to capture the beautiful scenery that surrounds Railay, a paradise for rock climbers and sun seekers. This place offers a more relaxed atmosphere and certainly a great destination when travelling around Thailand

Check out my channel for lots more places to visit, things to eat in Thailand, and Thai markets. Thai food markets and night markets are one of the best places to buy fresh and authentic Thai food while you travel in Thailand. There are loads of Thai food markets & night markets all over Thailand. At the markets you'll find so much Thai cuisine on offer & the food here is cheap, and so tasty! Thai food has been heavily influenced by Chinese food so you will find lots of familiar flavours.
And in case you’re worried, eating Thai street food is safe. It’s what the locals eat and it is cooked fresh and sold quickly. I’ve been eating it nearly daily since 2012 in Thailand and my friends who have been to visit and tour Thailand have all eaten it, and none of us have had any problems. You’ll find street food on many street corners in Thailand, be it in Phuket, Bangkok, Pattaya, Hua Hin or Krabi and at all of the markets. Thai street food is some of the best Thai food you’ll find in Thailand!

If you've never climbed before, Railay is one of the best and cheapest places to do so. Numerous climbing schools will take absolute beginners for a day of safe climbing. The half-day courses (around US $30) are a great way to try your hands at an exciting sport -- and are enough to exhaust most beginners. Well-trained instructors provide safe equipment; climbs start easy then gradually increase in difficulty.
Experienced climbers can take advantage of over 700 bolted routes along limestone and sea cliffs ranging from easy to multi-pitched nightmares. You'll even find technical bouldering in soft sand along the beach, or the truly adventurous can try deep-water soloing -- climbing without ropes -- finished by a drop into the sea!
Shoes, ropes, and equipment can be rented from climbing schools. If you're accustomed to the grading system used in the US (e.g., 5.8) you will want to purchase a climbing guide or talk to a school: Railay uses the French grading system (e.g. 6a).

KRABI | RAILAY - The Stunning BEACHES and CAVES || Rock Climbing Paradise.
Railay, also known as Rai Leh is, in fact, a small peninsula which counts four beaches. Now on every savvy traveller's list, Railay is nevertheless one of Thailand's most sought-after beach areas. Just south of Ao Nang Beach, around a rocky headland and accessible only by boat, Railay presents a tranquil and extraordinary world. In just one small peninsula you'll find gorgeous white sand beaches, soaring limestone cliffs, viewpoints, caves and a lagoon hidden inside the cliffs, shaped and fed by the changing tides. All within walking distance! At Railay there are no roads; only footpaths. No buses, no cars, just longtail boats. Although it's actually connected to the mainland, the spectacular Phra Nang Peninsular is effectively cut off from the rest of Krabi by limestone headlands and steep jungle valleys; the only access is by sea. The very picture of tropical paradise, with no roads and no hassle, Railay offers lazy days, adventure forays and chilled-out evenings.

Railay Beach // The Secret of Phang Nga Bay in Krabi Thailand
Krabi Thailand is certainly one of the prettiest places we've been to. But we really didn't expect Railay Beach to suddenly make our list of top five best beaches we've ever visited!
The beach is surrounded by cliffs, and it's on a peninsula that you can only get to by boat (if you're wondering how to get to railay beach).
There's tons to do at Railay Beach as well, but it's mostly known for it's rock climbing, because of the epic views and easy to challenging routes for all skill levels.
When we go back to Thailand, we'll definitely be staying at Railay Beach.

THIS IS HEAVEN - LUXURIOUS LOW COST RESORT | RAILAY THAILAND
Railay, also known as Rai Leh, is a small peninsula between the city of Krabi and Ao Nang in Thailand. It is accessible only by boat due to high limestone cliffs cutting off mainland access.
Today we left Ao Nang and the Railay beach resort called Railay great view resort. It only takes 15 minutes from Ao Nang to the resort by long tail boat. The resort is amazing, and later in the day explored railay beach and made our way over to west Railay beach. There we went swimming at Krabi Railay beach, took a look at Phra Nang cave and watched the rock climbing. Railay Island is amazing and I highly recommend Railay Thailand.

Railay Beach and Climbing
Took a 30 minute long tail boat ride to Railay Beach for about 150baht one way from Krabi.
We spent a few nights there at one of the many jungle bungalows not near the beach. We rock climbed for the first time ever and partied at one of the many bars along the strip.
This was one of my favorite places to visit, the vibe was so chill. A must visit on your list!

Discover Krabi: Amazing Railay Beach
A day trip to Railay Beach, one of the most beautiful beaches in Thailand. Railay Beach is on a peninsula of Krabi, Thailand. It is accessible only by boat due to the towering limestone cliffs that surround the peninsula. It is mecca for sun worshipers, rock climbers and young people who love to party. While hardly an unspoiled paradise, it has some of the most beautiful views to be found on mainland Thailand. It is usually reached by longtail boat from Krabi Town or Ao Nang.

Top 10 Things to Do in Krabi, Thailand 2020 | 4k
Hey Must Do Travellers. Welcome back to another episode as we travel the world together. Today we’re on the southwest coast of Thailand in Krabi. Characterized by amazing beaches and rock climbing spots, this is definitely one of the must see parts of Thailand. Lets go explore!
10. Phra Nang Beach 2:03
Phra Nang Beach is the southern strip of sand in Railay Bay. You can get to the beach by a 20-minute long-tail boat trip directly from Ao Nang or a 10 minute walk from Railay East. With super soft sand, clear shallow water, coral reef, and caves, this really is the perfect beach.
9. AO Nang 2:22
Ao Nang is a resort town. It's known for the long beachfront and access to dive sites off the nearby islands. It has the relaxed atmosphere of a small town but the beauty of a beach resort.
8. Khao Kanab Nam 2:43
The pair of 100-metre-high limestone rocks rise from either side of the Krabi river to form a key part of the natural scenery. Any visitor of Krabi town will get a glimpse of the rocks and their iconic tilted shapes from afar, but a boat trip to explore the cave is worth every penny.
7. Phi Phi Islands 3:02
Phi Phi Island is Thailand's superstar. It's been in the movies, tv shows and is definitely on all your friends’ must-do list. Even with all the hype, it does not disappoint. Phi Phi's beauty cannot even be captured in photos - it’s something you must experience for yourself.
6. Klong Thom Hot Spring 3:22
The Krabi Hot Springs are natural ‘hot tubs’ in volcanic chambers. If you’re into doing something extremely relaxing and therapeutic on your trip to Thailand, this is a must-do for you.
5. Krabi Shell Cemetery 3:44
Local folklore claims it’s even older than 75 million years. This is great place to visit if you’re interested in geology or historical artefacts since it is claimed to be one of only three such shell cemetery sites in the entire world.
4. Krabi Town 4:03
Krabi Town is a market town that was around long before international tourists started to visit the area. It's charming, laid back, and is where you can live like a local. For those interested in a dose of genuine Thai culture and hospitality, sticking around Krabi Town is a rewarding experience.
3. Wat Tham Sua 4:22
This is one of Thailand’s finest natural wonders. The temple here has beautiful icons in the main temple cave, but the real attraction here is the ‘footprint of the Buddha’. To get to this historic site you need to hike over 1000 steps up the limestone tower - but the destination is worth the journey!
2. Thung Teao Forest National Park 4:43
This nature trek is a great place to spot rare animals and plants that are close to extinction. The forest is filled with age-old trees stretching up to the sky, unusual forest creatures and limestone foothills that open onto a dazzling emerald pool.
Railay Beaches and Caves 5:02
Railay is an attraction in itself. It is a small peninsula accessible only by boat because of the tall limestone cliffs casting it away from the Krabi mainland. Railay is the kind of destination to get away from it all and to enjoy all that Thailand’s nature has to offer.

Things to do on Railay Beach
Railay is famous for awesome rock climbing. But, if you're scared of heights like me, fear not. There are lots of things to do when you're on Railay, we guarantee that you won't be bored. Below is how we spent our day here after taking a taxi boat from Krabi.
1. Climb the Viewpoint- This is a rigorous hike up a muddy mountain so be prepared to dress in something you don't mind getting dirty. We climbed back down and jumped in the water so it was ok. To see more details on our hike including how to get here from Krabi, go here:
2. Penis Cave- Yea, I know. You will see this on your left as you make your way to the beach. Stop and snap a few photos. It's said that the locals come here and give tokens (mostly penises) to wish for things.
3. Swim at Phra Nang Cave Beach- To swim in turquoise water where the cave meets the beach is a no-brainer. We can't describe how beautiful this was. Pics and videos won't do it justice either. You just have to go and see it for yourself.
4. Lunch- Grab a bite to eat from a boat vendor. There's limited food choices on this side of the beach, but fear not. These boats come by at lunch time to sell standard Thai fair.. We had the Pad Thai and some soup. It was nothing to brag about, but decent. Plus, we thought the whole process was interesting.
5. Kayaking- We had much more footage of this than anything else because it was our favorite. You get to go through narrow passage ways and see off shore islands that you wouldn't get to see otherwise. It was pretty awesome.
Bonus- If you can, stay for the beautiful sunset. It was really pretty to watch the sun slowing go down behind the island.
I hope you enjoyed this. Have you been there or are planning to? Tell us your questions and comments!
