Royal Botanic Garden Sydney is a major botanical garden located in the heart of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Opened in 1816 the garden is oldest scientific institution in Australia and one of the most important historic botanical institution in the WORLD.

Located right next to the Sydney Opera House, this incredible garden is free to entry every day and is one of the most important botanical institutions in the world and one of the most visited places in Sydney Australia.
If you have some time you can easily spend half of your day (or more) exploring its 30 hectares of terrain, in here you will find a great variety of trees, plants, flowers, birds, exhibitions and more.
If you stay long enough to the sunset you will be able to see the flying foxes (bats) that arrive at the garden trees to sleep.
Definitively one beautiful spot to have a picnic with a lovely view and a must go if you are coming to Australia, the best of all... it's FREE.

Royal Botanic Garden - Sydney
The Royal Botanic Gardens are adjacent to the Sydney Opera House and framed by beautiful Sydney Harbour. They are a 30-hectare oasis of calm right in the heart of the city.
A range of activities caters for all ages, abilities and interests. You can go on a volunteer-led tour of the gardens along the paved accessible pathways, learn about the Aboriginal history and their use of the site, explore the magnificent gardens or simply relax with a picnic and enjoy the stunning harbour views.

A free guided tour which is wheelchair accessible and covers information about the gardens' history, plant life and resident flying foxes.

Royal Botanic Garden -Sydney
In the heart of Sydney on Farm Cove, you can explore 30 Hectares of well looked after garden. From cactus ,palms, orchids, water plants, Jurassic plants, roses and more. It has one of the largest
collection of plants from around the world and Australia. Use the free app for a self guided tour or meet at the garden shop for a free guided tour. Hop onto the garden train for a quick tour around the garden. Enjoy the many monuments, statues and fountains inside the park.There is a cafe inside the park, no BBQ is allowed. Picnic by the lake and enjoy the bird-life.
There are plenty of toilets within the park, great place to jog or walk especially around the foreshores and along Lady Macquarie's chair. Meter parking could be expensive if you plant to stay longer. Until July 2018 they have a informative display on pollination, where the kids can take part in the activities. You'll always find a great picture so fully charge your camera. The garden is free so make any donation you can.

The Royal Botanic Garden, Sydney is a heritage-listed major 30-hectare (74-acre) botanical garden, event venue and public recreation area located at Farm Cove on the eastern fringe of the Sydney central business district, in the City of Sydney local government area of New South Wales, Australia.
Opened in 1816, the garden is the oldest scientific institution in Australia and one of the most important historic botanical institutions in the world. The overall structure and key elements were designed by Charles Moore and Joseph Maiden, and various other elements designed and built under the supervision of Allan Cunningham, Richard Cunningham, and Carrick Chambers. The garden is owned by the Government of New South Wales and administered by the Royal Botanic Gardens and Domain Trust. The Botanic Garden, together with the adjacent Domain were added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 2 April 1999.
The Garden and The Domain are open every day of the year and access is free. Its stunning position on Sydney Harbour, the Sydney Opera House and the large public parklands of The Domain ensure it is one of the most visited attractions in Sydney. The garden is bordered by the Cahill Expressway to the south and west, Macquarie Street to the northwest, Art Gallery Road to the east, and Sydney Harbour to the north.
