Devi Kund Bikaner Drone Stock Video
Located at a distance of 8 km from the Bikaner city, Devi Kund or Devi Kund Sagar is a collection of Cenotaphs (Chattris), an amazing proof of classic Rajputana style of architecture that has been mixed with Islamic architecture. These chattris are made of white marble and red sandstone and are decorated with intricate carvings. Originally a royal crematorium, Devi Kund was erected in the memory of the deceased members of the royal family of Bikaner. These cenotaphs narrate the tales of bravery of Bikaji rulers.

Jaisalmer - Rajasthan - Royal Cenotaphs
If you visit Jaisalmer make sure that just before sunset you take the 6km taxi ride to the Royal Cenotaphs at Bada Bagh.
Bada Bagh - literally Big Garden- is a garden complex halfway between Jaisalmer and Lodhruva in the state of Rajasthan in India. It contains a set of royal cenotaphs, or chhatris of Maharajas of Jaisalmer state, starting with Jai Singh II. A descendant of Maharawal Jaisal Singh, the founder of the state and Maharaja of Jaisalmer State, Jai Singh II (1688–1743), commissioned a dam to create a water tank during his reign in the 16th century. This made the desert green in this area. After his death on September 21, 1743, his son Lunkaran built a beautiful garden next to the lake and a chhatri (Hindi for cenotaph) for his father on a hill next to the lake. Later on, many more cenotaphs were constructed here for Lunkaran and other Bhattis. The last chhatri, meant for maharaja Jawahar Singh, dates from the 20th century and remains unfinished after Indian independence.because of his father death he suffered a lot. (wiki)

Devi Kund, Bikaner
This is the site of royal chhatris (cenotaphs) of the House of Bikaji Rathore, built in the memory of the Bika dynasty rulers. These offer splendid examples of the Rajput architecture. While the Mughals built lavish mausoleums for the royal dead, the Rajputs, with their flair for the novel set up chattris. Open canopies with a robust eye for detail, they mark the spots where each of the Bikas was cremated. It has a number of tombs dedicated to various kings of the past. One particular tomb of interest is that of Maharaja Surat Singh, built entirely in white marble with spectacular Rajput paintings on the ceiling. One cannot miss the spectacular Rajput paintings on the ceilings.

Gaitore Cenotaphs, Jaipur (Rajasthan)
Gaitore, one of the most prominent tourist attractions in Jaipur, is a royal cremation ground for the Kachhwaha Rajput kings and the members of the royal family. The word 'Gaitore' is believed to be a mispronounced form of the Hindi phrase, 'Gaye ka Thor' which means 'resting place of the departed souls'. Located on a narrow valley on Jaipur-Amer road, this place is 15 km away from Jaipur. The valley has cenotaphs (chhatri) made of marble and sandstone with Rajastani carvings, dedicated to legendary kings who ruled Jaipur. A perfect blending of Islamic and Hindu temple architecture, Gaitore has cenotaphs of Sawai Ram Singh, Sawai Madho Singh and Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II and so on. Among these kings, the cenotaph of Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II is quite impressive with its intricate peacock carvings and designs on beautiful white marble structure. It is said that the carvings on each cenotaph reflects the taste of the respective king. Read further to know more about Gaitore and its historic significance
