Protection of the heritage
The vast heritage of the region is thought to be disappearing fast. Out of the 1000 kunds which used to be the source of fresh and potable drinking water source and rain water harvesting, 90% of them have dried and silted up, encroached upon and reduced to sludge tanks. Out of the 137 forests, only 3 are left and the rest have been cut down. Out of the 27 picturesque ghats on the banks of river Yamuna, only one remains and rest have been encroached upon and smuggled out. Due to the wide scale illegal mining of Braj hills, the heritage spots associated with Krishna are being lost. There is an overall destruction of the most culturally vibrant and heritage region of Vaishnavas, Hindus, Indians and mankind on the whole.
Efforts are being made by The Braj Foundation, a voluntary organization towards the revival of the 5000 year old holy region of Braj. The Braj Foundation, is dedicated to the all round development of Braj -- the culturally vibrant region lying in close vicinity to Taj Mahal and associated with the legend of Sri Radha-Krishna. The Foundation works directly on projects to restore Braj as an idealistic rural society by conserving its 5000 year old heritage and environment through planning, conservation, renovation and encouraging local community participation.
The current focus is on the restoration of 1000 ancient water retention tanks (kunds), revival of 48 important sacred groves, regeneration of around 18000 acres (73 km²) of hilly terrains into lush-green pasture lands & forests and the resurrection of River Yamuna. Till now the foundation has restored 35 ancient water bodies and 1 sacred forest out of the 3 forests left in the entire region. A small group of dedicated professionals has achieved all this in a span of 5 years.
Maansarovar, Vrindavan - Darshan and Pastimes | मानसरोवर वृंदावन । Braj Ras
Maan sarovar or Mana Sarovar is located on another side of Yamuna Devi, a small bridge is there to go to Maan Sarovar near Dheer Samir.
Once Radharani was into a sulky mood (maan) during Raas Leela that was very difficult to subdue that She left the place of raas on Her own, crossed the Yamuna, and came to this solitary forest. Distressed in separation from Krishna, She began to cry, and the stream of tears that flowed from Her eyes created this lake, or sarovara. Shri Krishna, the topmost relisher of transcendental mellows, searched for Shriji and found Her here. Placing His flute and His head at Her lotus feet, Shri Krishna admitted His fault and assured Her that He would never act like that again.
This charming place in Braj is embellished by the dense shade of the Pilu, kadamba and tamaala trees and by the peacocks, cuckoos, swans, deer and other birds and animals. It remains visible to our eyes to this present day so as to remind us of the pastimes of the Divine Couple, Shri Radha-Krishna.
In the old temple on the bank of Maana-sarovara, a painting is worshipped of Shri Krishna offering His flute and His head at the lotus feet of Shri Radhika in an effort to break Her maana. The same painting can be seen in the image as well.
Shri Krishna is looking at Her as if to say, “Smara-Garala-Khandanam Mama Shirasi Mandanam Dehi Pada-Pallavam Udaram – the beautiful flower blossoms of Your feet counteract the deadly poison of amorous love, and they extinguish the fearsome fire of the pain of that love, which rages within My heart. Therefore, please be kind and decorate My head with Your flower-like feet.

Desecration of Vrindavan; Episode 4: Municipality Selling Vrindavan
We decided to address the root cause of the mass advertising situation that is happening in Vrindavan, which, is the Vrindavan municipality itself! They are illegally allowing billboards, without proper authorization from those who property they place them on!
If the Municipality itself is involved in this kind of illegal activity, then, how will we ever stop the others?!

RADHA KUNDA Holy Bath
All glories to Radharani! She is so dear to Krsna. Everyone is trying to love Krsna, but Krsna is trying to love Radha. Just imagine how great She is? Krsna prema is so valuable, but Krsna is after Radharani. She is so great. We have to offer Her our respects.
SRILA PRABHUPADA
Of all the young girls, Radha is the most beautiful. She always dresses so nicely that Damodara is attracted by Her beauty. If you go to Vrindavan you will find everyone worshiping Radharani. All the devotees in Vrindavan worship Radharani. The pure devotees pray to Radharani, 'O my worshipable Radharani! You are so full of mercy. I am begging for Your mercy.'
SRILA PRABHUPADA (Lecture tape 09/18/69)
Radhakunda is located in northwest part of Vraja (the area near Vrindavana) 100 km south from capitol Delhi. Gaudiya-vaisnavas consider this lake of Srimati Radharani to be the most sacred place on Earth
Radhakunda is situated on the parikrama (pilgrimage) road around the Govardhana Hill. The whole Govardhana is about 11 km long and by its shape it resemble peacock. Both ponds - Radhakunda and Syamakunda - are like its eyes. When Krishna killed Aristhasura, a demon in the form of bull, he approached Radharani with desire to enjoy loving pastimes. But Radharani rebuked Him, saying that He became impure by killing a bull, the symbol of religion. She suggested that He could get purified by taking bath in holy rivers on all sacred places. Krishna immediately stroked His lotus feet in the ground and created a hole. Thereafter He called all holy rivers. They appeared in front of Him and formed Syamakunda. Krishna took bath in this pond and said that he become purified by taking bath, but gopis became contaminated by siding with the demon even in form of a bull. Radharani and other gopis took their bracelets, broke them into pieces and begin to dig their pond. However, there was no water and Krishna started to laugh. Gopis created a line to Manasa Ganga and started to bring water from there. The representative of all holy rivers again appeared and this time begged Radharani if they can reside in Her lake. Radharani agreed and holy rivers flowed from Syamakunda thus filling Radhakunda.

Good News from Vrindavan
Before we go all out exposing the nasty billboards spread all over Vraj, we have some very good news. The Parikrama path is being re-done in style by the government, in association with The Vraj Foundation. What you are about see is truly a big step in the right direction. Yogi Adityanath Ji's government is really taking concrete steps and here is a sweet sample.
But there is still a long ways to go.
