April 14, 2016 - On Midlothian Road in Burk's Falls, Ontario - Artist Peter Camani has created an immense, surreal artscape of huge cast-concrete sculptures throughout his 310-acre property. Locally referred to as Screaming Heads, the property serves as the artist’s home as well as his canvas. This short video doesn't come close to showing all that is on this property, definitely worth another trip in summer. Lots of interesting structures and sculptures scattered throughout.

Peter Camani is a retired teacher who lives in Burks Falls. Like most retirees, Peter has time to do things he enjoys but his passion is what makes him unique. Peter Camani lives on 300 acres on which he has created his own world. His home, The Midlothian Castle is surrounded by a series of cement structures, which have come to be known as The Screaming Heads. While Peter completed the 84 heads in 2004, his project continues to evolve in unique ways.

Information on artist Peter Camani:
Peter Camani's Screaming Heads, Aug. 7, 2015
From Wikipedia:
Peter Camani is a Canadian artist and sculptor who has created an unusual residence, castle, and sculpture garden on an old farm near Burk's Falls, Ontario, Canada, which is most commonly known as Screaming Heads.
Camani is a retired art teacher[1] (Almaguin Highlands Secondary School in South River, Ontario, Canada), but he is best known for his fantasy castle called Midlothian Castle,[2] which he has spent over 25 years constructing. Monolith-like sculptures in the shape of giant heads are scattered throughout the property. A two-headed dragon sits atop the chimney and his version of the See/Say/Hear No Evils greet visitors. There are more than a hundred “screaming head” sculptures, each one 20 feet in height. Camani says he built his otherworldly creations as a warning about environmental degradation. With his paintings already hanging in such coveted places as the Vatican and Buckingham Palace,[citation needed] he decided to focus his energy on realizing a vision of significantly larger proportions.

Ontario's Mysterious Screaming Heads
Happy Halloween Everyone!
Today we explore the Screaming heads Art installation In Burks Falls Ontario. Artist Peter Camani lives and creates art on his 300 Acre Property. Known as Midlothian Castle, Peter's home is inspired by druids and ancient Briton. Purchased in 1981, the property was a field until peter planted 22 thousand trees. The trees were planted to represent a South American jungle where ruins become overgrown and one with nature, a perfect fit for his work and home.
Peter started building the screamings heads in 1989. Standing 16 feet tall, each sculptor weights 16 tons apiece. The Heads are made usings poured cement, which the artist describes as a simple process that anyone could do. Similar to the idea of good and bad the heads are always changing with the seasons and the light that falls or casts shadows upon them.
LOCATION: 925-1201 Midlothian Rd, Burk's Falls, ON P0A 1C0

Screaming Heads is a life long art project by a Northern Ontario art teacher. I took a video standing on a large pile of stones that was surrounded by these screaming heads and going around in a 360 degree circle. If you are ever near the area this is definitely a must see!
