Flooding in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, seen from the air
Five years after thousands of people were forced to leave their homes by
flooding in Tewkesbury, aerial footage from Gloucestershire shows the town
has been inundated once again.
Beautiful Tewkesbury (at flood time)
This short film illustrates the beauty and tranquility of Tewkesbury during regular floods, which have little impact on the town. There are outstanding views & photo opportunities. A great coffee stop 1 mile J9 M5. Do not believe the Doom & Gloom main media who run the town down for the sake of a headline.
Gloucestershire Rivers Avon & Severn
Starting on the Avon just above Tewkesbury, we follow it down to the Severn and down to the estuary noting places of interest along the way. Including where the rivers join, as well as old ferry crossings of which there were many, and riverside villages. The weir in Maismore the old Gloucester docks bypass lock and the river as it opens out into the estuary. My passion has been walking, last year I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s and walking is no longer natural. However I find that the more walking I do, the easier it gets, at least for now.
I hope that watching these films will encourage others to hang in there, and try to keep going, living in the moment, whilst enjoying beautiful countryside

An entire town has been almost completely cut off by flood water | SWNS TV
Shocking aerial photographs show how an entire town has been almost completely cut off by flood water as a result of heavy downpours which battered Britain. Parts of Tewkesbury, Glos, were left entirely submerged by 5ft (1.5m) of water after the River Severn burst its banks following torrential rain over the weekend. Ancient Tewkesbury Abbey can be seen nearly marooned in dramatic drone images taken today (Mon) in scenes strikingly reminiscent of the devastating floods of 2007. Other parts of the historic town were also left under several feet of water following the deluge of bad weather, which saw a month's worth of rain falling in just two days.

Tewkesbury - A Brief Encounter
Tewkesbury Floods - November 2019
Shows the flooding around different parts of the small Town of Tewkesbury. The area around the River are often saturated in water, and also there are other places where a huge deluge of water has consumed the area. This includes the Severn Ham, Vineyards, and a major road by Morrisons.
Mercifully the floods are nothing like as bad as those seen throughout the area in 2007, following flood prevention measure and defence schemes being implemented around the perimeter of the town.
Unfortunately, there is still building on floods planes throughout the town on the flatlands, where new housing has been gradually built over the last 10 years eg Wheatpieces!!!!!!
(According to BBC News it was suggested that by the end of the weekend the floods had flatlined but levels falling away would take another 36 hours!!)
Unfortunately darkness was falling on the area by mid afternoon; however.. This shouldn't affect viewing and the footage shows a clear indication of the affected areas of flooding.
Includes Subtitles and some musical accompaniment.

Tewkesbury
Tewkesbury is a town and civil parish in Gloucestershire, England. It stands at the confluence of the River Severn and the River Avon, and also minor tributaries the Swilgate and Carrant Brook. It gives its name to the Borough of Tewkesbury, of which the town is the second largest settlement.
The name Tewkesbury comes from Theoc, the name of a Saxon who founded a hermitage there in the 7th century, and in the Old English tongue was called Theocsbury. An erroneous derivation from Theotokos enjoyed currency in the monastic period of the town's history.
