Pig Ankle Rag at the Bell Inn, Ash, Martock, Somerset traditional folk music tune session
English pub folk tune sessions are a great way to learn how to play an instrument in a friendly and supportive social setting. Last night (22nd March 2012), I visited a traditional tune session hosted by Martin Hughes who is one of the finest traditional English piano accordion players I know. Although Martin is a highly experienced ceilidh, folk dance and barn dance musician, he is particularly welcoming to new musicians who are learning an instrument and want to join in his excellent monthly tune sessions which are located just off the A303 near Yeovil at the friendly Bell Inn, Ash, Martock, Somerset, UK.
If you are learning an instrument or just want to play to improve or just enjoy being with other musicians and would like to play simple traditional tunes (as played in ceilidhs, barn dances and folk dances) in a welcoming social setting, playing usually by ear, traditional folk tune sessions are a great low cost way to spend your musical time. (Just buy a drink at the bar and join in).
This traditional tune session is a jump in and play session catering for amateur musicians of all standards. Tuition isn't given. Instead beginner musicians start by adding the occasional note then adding more as they get to know the tunes. Pretty soon many musicians gain in confidence enough to actually start tunes and lead the session just as the more experienced musicians do.
Folk tunes played last night included French traditional tunes, Klezmer traditional tunes, traditional English tunes and even a bit of ragtime as featured here but pretty well anything goes as long as everybody is enjoying themselves.
Session arrangements change from time to time (check out Martin's web page for latest information at ) and it is always worth phoning the pub before incurring any expense travelling etc. but based on my experience, if you like to listen to folk music tunes or would like to join in with playing them, this is a traditional folk music tune session well worth checking out :-)

Walt Disney World - Blue Flag Motor Launch Loop (2019)
Sailing on the Blue Flag Motor Launch from Wilderness Lodge to Fort Wilderness and the Contemporary Resort Hotel.
The resort also maintains a fleet of watercraft providing additional access between various Disney resorts and parks. These ferries are also free to ride. While some route duplication does take place (for instance, the Disney Springs water taxis to the Disney Springs Resort Area duplicate buses to these same resorts), the watercraft provide an alternative way to travel from one location to another.
Strollers can be transported aboard all of the boats, and the ferries, motor cruisers, Friendship Boats, and water taxis are ADA-accessible when water conditions are favorable. Motor launches cannot accept motorized wheelchairs or unfolded wheelchairs.
The boats with the highest capacities are the large ferries that traverse the Seven Seas Lagoon between the TTC and the Magic Kingdom. The three ferries are clad in different trim colors and are named for past Disney executives: the General Joe Potter (blue), the Richard F. Irvine (red) and the Admiral Joe Fowler (green).
Motor launches and cruisers link several places in the Seven Seas Lagoon, using colored flags to indicate the route. Launches link the Magic Kingdom to the Grand Floridian and Polynesian Resorts via the Seven Seas Lagoon, using the Gold Route. These launches also connect the Magic Kingdom to Bay Lake via a water bridge to reach Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, using the Green Route. There is also a Blue Route motor launch between the Wilderness Lodge and the Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, via the Contemporary Resort. A Red Route motor launch/cruiser travels from Magic Kingdom directly to the Wilderness Lodge.
Water taxis, which also have colored flags as route indicators link Port Orleans – French Quarter/Riverside (blue), Old Key West (green), and Saratoga Springs (yellow) to Disney Springs along the Sassagoula River. A fourth route, the red-flag route, ferries passengers around Disney Springs.
Friendship Boats also connect the International Gateway entrance of Epcot to the BoardWalk Resort; the Yacht and Beach Club Resorts; the Swan and Dolphin Resorts; and Disney's Hollywood Studios. They also connect Epcot's Future World to Morocco in the World Showcase.
The Walt Disney World Resort, also called Walt Disney World and Disney World, is an entertainment complex in Bay Lake and Lake Buena Vista, Florida, in the United States, near the cities Orlando and Kissimmee. Opened on October 1, 1971, the resort is owned and operated by Disney Parks, Experiences and Products, a division of The Walt Disney Company. It was first operated by Walt Disney World Company. The property, which covers nearly 25,000 acres (39 sq mi; 101 km2), only half of which has been used, comprises four theme parks (consisting of Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Epcot, and Disney's Hollywood Studios), two water parks, twenty-seven themed resort hotels, nine non-Disney hotels, several golf courses, a camping resort, and other entertainment venues, including the outdoor shopping center Disney Springs.
Mom Warns Other About Dangers of Swimming In Quarries After Son Died
More from Inside Edition:
Thousands of quarries exist across the country but some can be disastrous. Jonathan Baksh, 19, jumped into Martin's Creek quarry in Pennsylvania in 2015, but he never made it back to land after suffering a cramp in the water. His mom was stunned when she found out her son was the second young man to die in quarry that year. Now, as the one year anniversary of her son's passing arrives next month, she's on a crusade to tell the world about the dangers of swimming in quarries.

THE WORLD'S MOST HAUNTED PLACE! | Waverly Hills Sanatorium Paranormal Tour
(Louisville, Kentucky) Producing my first documentary at THE Waverly Hills Sanatorium!.....Don't miss what we're up to next, HIT SUBSCRIBE to keep up! Aerial Views and Ghost Hunting at Waverly Hills Sanatorium, known by many as One of The MOST HAUNTED PLACES ON EARTH. Waverly is known world wide to be FULL of History & Paranormal Activity...
The Waverly Hills Sanatorium is a closed sanatorium located in southwestern Louisville/Jefferson County, Kentucky. It opened in 1910 as a two-story hospital to accommodate 40 to 50 tuberculosis patients. In the early 1900s, Jefferson County was ravaged by an outbreak of tuberculosis (the White Plague) which prompted the construction of a new hospital. The hospital closed in 1961, due to the antibiotic drug streptomycin that lowered the need for such a hospital.
Waverly Hills has been popularized on the television show Ghost Hunters as being one of the most haunted hospitals in the eastern United States. The sanatorium was featured on ABC/FOX Family Channel's Scariest Places On Earth, VH1's Celebrity Paranormal Project, Syfy's Ghost Hunters, Zone Reality's Creepy, the British show Most Haunted, Paranormal Challenge and Ghost Adventures on Travel Channel. Also popularizing Waverly Hills was the film Spooked: The Ghosts of Waverly Hills Sanatorium, released in 2006, which purports to document paranormal sightings at the site
Plans have been developed to convert the sanatorium into a hotel and conference center.
HISTORY:
The land that is today known as Waverly Hill was purchased by Major Thomas H. Hays in 1883 as the Hays' family home. Since the new home was far away from any existing schools, Mr. Hays decided to open a local school for his daughters to attend. He started a one-room schoolhouse on Pages Lane and hired Lizzie Lee Harris as the teacher. Due to Miss Harris' fondness for Walter Scott's Waverley novels, she named the schoolhouse Waverly School. Major Hays liked the peaceful-sounding name, so he named his property Waverley Hill. The Board of Tuberculosis Hospital kept the name when they bought the land and opened the sanatorium. It is not known exactly when the spelling changed to exclude the second e and became Waverly Hills. However the spelling fluctuated between both spellings many times over the years.
EXPLORATION:
One of the legends told of Waverly Hills involves a man in a white coat who has been seen walking in the kitchen and the smell of cooking food that sometimes wafts through the room. During their initial visit, they found the kitchen was a disaster, a ruin of broken windows, fallen plaster, broken tables and chairs and puddles of water and debris that resulted from a leaking roof. The cafeteria had not fared much better. It was also in ruins and the team quickly retreated. Before they could do so though, several of them reported the sounds of footsteps, a door swinging shut and the smell of fresh baked bread in the air. A quick search revealed that no one else was in the building and there was certainly no one cooking anything in the kitchen. They could come up with no logical explanation for what had occurred.
Ghost researchers are always drawn to the fifth floor of the former hospital. The fifth floor consisted of two nurses’ stations, a pantry, a linen room, medicine room and two medium-sized rooms on both sides of the two nurses’ stations. One of these, Room 502, is the subject of many rumors and legends and just about every curiosity-seeker that had broken into Waverly Hills over the years wanted to see it. This is where, according to the stories, people have jumped to their deaths, have seen shapes moving in the windows and have heard disembodied voices that order trespassers to “get out”.
There is a lot of speculation as to what went on in this part of the hospital but what is believed is that mentally insane tuberculosis patients were housed on the fifth floor. This kept them far away from the rest of the patients in the hospital but still in an area where they could benefit from the fresh air and sunshine. This floor is actually centered in the middle of the hospital and the two wards, extending out from the nurses’ station, is glassed in on all sides and opens out onto a patio-type roof. The patients were isolated on either side of the nurses’ stations and they had to go to a half door at each station to get their food and medicine and to use the restroom, which was located adjacent to the station.
