NATO Warships Gather For “Class” Photo in the Western Mediterranean - Unravel Travel TV
NATO warships have lined up to within just a few hundred feet of each other and taken part in a complicated group exercise for Exercise Trident Juncture 15. The tricky feat was captured by Royal Navy photographers as part of Officer of the Watch Manoeuvres – a difficult task that tests ship communication systems, as well as command and control systems between vessels. In total 18 warships, from 11 nations, took part in the series of complex manoeuvres which covered hundred of miles of the Western Mediterranean over several hours.
Two British warships took part in the serial, Her Majesty's Ships Ocean and Bulwark, with Ocean's Navigating Officer coordinating the whole exercise. Navigating Officer Lieutenant Commander George Storton, from Bosham, West Sussex, said: Modern warships are packed full of technology but underneath all of that we still need to recognise the basic mariner principles. Learning practical seamanship is vitally important, as this exercise demonstrated, but it's also great fun!
Exercise Trident Juncture is the largest NATO exercise in over a decade involving 36,000 personnel and 60 warships from 30 nations. It is one of a series of long-planned exercises to ensure that NATO Allies are ready to deal with any emerging crisis, from any direction, and that they are able to work effectively with partners in tackling any crisis.
Commanding the Officer of the Watch manoeuvres was Rear Admiral Tony Radakin, Commander of the UK Maritime Forces, but also the senior officer in charge of NATO's Maritime Forces for Exercise Trident Juncture and throughout the whole of 2016 when the UK takes charge of the NATO Response Force. Based in the Royal Navy's flagship HMS Ocean, Adm Radakin said: It's a rare privilege to command and train alongside such a formidable line up of warships, from so many of our allies. It feels 'real' - training in purely national lines is comfortable but in reality navies operate as international coalitions, with a multiplicity of accents and perspectives reflecting the NATO's allies commitment to each other.
Exercises such as Trident Juncture enable us to build trust in each other and our capabilities and the manoeuvres this morning demonstrate that we can work seamlessly together. Trident Juncture started at the beginning of October 2015 with a virtual, table top scenario and has now moved to the Live phase looking at how situations would be dealt with in the real world. For the 60 NATO warships, this has meant a series of amphibious raids, anti-submarine drills and air defence exercises against Typhoon Eurofighters. The next phase of the exercise is Theatre Entry when the ships drop troops ashore in order to bring order back to a fictional country – this phase takes place in Spain and Portugal at the start of November 2015.

UK Launch First Strike Against IS - Oct 2, 2014
Britain’s Royal Air Force have carried out their first air strikes against the Islamic State in Iraq. The Ministry of Defence announced the attack in a statement, saying the action was part of the international coalition’s operations to support the Iraqi government. Two Tornado GR4 aircraft were used, after previously flying over the area in a reconnaissance mission, and are said to have killed a number of insurgents. UK Defense Secretary Michael Fallon has stated that RAF planes could be engaged in bombing ISIS for years to come.
Looks Like The Brexit Problem Will Be A Woman's Job To Solve
Now that the men responsible for Brexit have exited the political stage themselves, it looks like a woman will be left to clean up their mess.
Meet Theresa May and Andrea Leadsom. They're the two Conservative Party candidates still left in the running to take over as prime minister. Here's a quick glance at how they got here.
May has been a member of Parliament for nearly two decades. She also serves as the home secretary.

Prior to a career in politics, May worked as a financial consultant. She didn't vote for the Brexit but has promised to carry it out.
People seem to think she's a good pick due to her experience and reputation for toughness.
Leadsom has been an MP since 2010 and serves as the energy and climate change minister.
She has a background in banking and supported the U.K. leaving the EU. She's popular among the party's grass-roots members.
In a vote of Conservative MPs on Thursday, May received 199 nods. Leadsom trailed her with 84 votes. Together, they knocked out Justice Secretary Michael Gove.
Next, the two women will face off for votes among Conservative Party members.
Officials say that winner will be announced in early September, though there's a chance that gets moved up in an effort to provide some stability post-Brexit.

Seems the right wing scrote wants to cause issues by blocking g the road and urging followers to “charge the police”. Bet they would be the first to cry when the police bash one on the cranium with a baton.....although there’s not much brain in there so a hit on the head won’t cause much damage.

Heartwarming reunions as the HMS Ocean finally returns home
Soldiers on the HMS Ocean finally reunite with their families after a long 6 months at sea. The ship anchored at Plymouth earlier today where families eagerly awaited.
Nearly 2,000 people rose early this morning to watch on as Britain's largest warship HMS Ocean docked back in Devonport, Plymouth.
Tears could be seen falling from the faces of relatives as they were emotionally reunited with their loved ones after half a year apart.
Among them was five-year-old Isabelle Jeffrey, who waited patiently with her mother and brother for father Private Officer Adam Jeffrey to debark from the ship.
The Royal Navy's largest vessel - which weighs a staggering 21,500 tonnes - had racked up more than 23,000 miles, visiting 11 countries during an overseas placement in the Gulf region and the Suez Canal.
Captain Rob Pedre, Ocean's Commanding Officer, said he was honoured to bring HMS Ocean home after a 'hugely successful' deployment in the Middle East. He said the good humour, professionalism and dedication of the ship's company had made him proud.
Brexit's Political Imagination - Martin Rowson

What does Brexit look like? Political cartoons are at the very forefront of crafting Brexit’s political imagination: giving shape and form to the fears and anxieties that colour a fast-moving and turbulent political landscape. Martin Rowson, political cartoonist for The Guardian newspaper, has chronicled British political life for over thirty years – from the days of Margaret Thatcher to Theresa May. Rowson has also been incredibly important in picturing Brexit as it unfolds: from depictions of May as a transparent ghost, Britain as a post-apocalyptic barren landscape, the government as a sinking ship, the cabinet falling off a cliff edge. These metaphors are at the heart of how the press, politicians and public conceptualise the Brexit process – alongside the images of slime, horror and abject mess that also characterise Rowson’s nightmarish visions. Eight days before Britain leaves the EU, Rowson will speak about capturing the spirit of our historical moment, to reflect on what it means to give an image to such turbulent times.
Martin Rowson is a political cartoonist for The Guardian. He read English Literature at Pembroke College, Cambridge, where he first began publishing cartoons and illustrations. After graduating he produced a cartoon series, Scenes from the Lives of the Great Socialists, for the New Statesman between 1982-83. He contributed to Financial Weekly from 1984-89 and Sunday Today from 1986-93. Rowson has also contributed to The Guardian since 1987, Time Out since 1990, Independent on Sunday from 1991-94, Independent Magazine from 1993-94, Daily Mirror since 1996, Daily Express since 1998, The Scotsman since 1998, and the Times Educational Supplement since 1998. In 2001 the Mayor of London appointed him Cartoonist Laureate for London. He has written a number of novels and graphic adaptations, including The Waste Land (1990) and Gulliver’s Travels (2012).

President Obama Delivers a Statement on the Murder of James Foley (James Foley Beheading)

On August 20, 2014, President Obama delivered a statement on the murder of James Foley by the terrorist group, ISIL.
The entire world is appalled by ISIS's slaughter of American journalist James Foley, a visibly angry President Obama said today.
“No just God would stand for what they did yesterday or every single day, the president said during a news conference in Martha's Vineyard. People like this ultimately fail. They fail because the future’s won by those who build and not destroy. The world is shaped by people like Jim Foley.”

US Mother's Heartbreaking Message on Terrorist Slaying of Son
The terrorist group beheaded Foley in a grisly video posted online Tuesday evening. The U.S. intelligence community verified the video’s authenticity this morning.
According to one senior U.S. official, ISIS had warned the U.S. that they planned to kill Foley to avenge airstrikes against ISIS targets in Iraq. Prior to his execution, U.S. officials say, they used Turkish, Russian and Czech intermediaries to advocate for his release.
A group like ISIL has no place in the 21st century, Obama said today, using the acronym by which the militant group is also known. They have rampaged across cities and villages killing innocent, unarmed civilians in cowardly acts of violence. They abduct women and children and subject them to torture and rape and slavery ... ISIL has no ideology of any value to human beings.
We are all heartbroken, Obama says he told Foley's parents this morning.

“He was a courageous, fearless journalist,” Diane Foley said. “Jimmy had a big heart. ... That’s what we shared with President Obama.
“We just pray that Jim’s death can bring our country together in a stronger way in the values that Jim holds dear,” Diane Foley said, before correcting herself to “held dear.”

“We beg compassion and mercy” for the other journalists held by ISIS, John Foley said. “There’s no reason for this slaughter.”
The video released Tuesday shows an ISIS militant wearing a black face mask addresses the president directly.
“Any attempt by you, Obama, to deny the Muslims their right to live in safety under the Islamic caliphate will result in the bloodshed of your people,” he says.

After the gruesome beheading of Foley, the ISIS militant threatens the life of another American hostage -- Steven Sotloff, who went missing in August.
Though he did not mention Sotloff specifically, Obama today promised that, “the United States of America will continue to do what they must do to protect our people.”
“We will be vigilant. We will be relentless,” he added.
