A drive to Dunmanway Dash Cam Vlog
I have to go to the GP in the town of Dunmanway and thought that you might like to come for a drive on some more roads typical of West Cork.
My dashcam records in 1080pHD but I am confused why I get such thick black margins when the video is made - can anyone explain how to get a full screen effect?
Norwegian Family in Dunmanway
Tonight at a sponsored BBQ at The Southern Bar in Dunmanway we had an opportunity to say goodbye to the Norwegian family who arrived as our guests and who now leave as our friends. Linda Taule and Viggo Leikanger were there with their children, Pernilla and Nora at ground level and Magnus peeping out of the rooflight in Galvin's B & B as he was not well. Linda launched another balloon from Dunmanway which promptly flew into a tree which we took to be a message from Thor. We ate burgers, wished Linda a happy birthday, made speeches, said skål and had a good time. A bit like the last 12 days!
Ha det bra og god tur Linda, Viggo og familie!! Slán abhaile!

Road Bowls, Adrigole, West Cork, Ireland
Road Bowls, Adrigole, West Cork, Ireland.
This is a traditional country game in Ireland. Two bowlers, using a fast under-arm bowling action, compete against each other along a mile of country road to see who can complete the distance in the least numbers of throws. The ball is steel. Each bowler takes his next bowl from the place where the ball from his last bowl finished.

Magnificent Ireland 65 years ago
A 16mm film of a visit to Ireland. Great landscapes, Carna, Galway and Clifden are called on in the great old car (make?)
A reviewer report that Newport Mayo is at the start of the clip the Black Oak river he is fishing in. Paul C, wrote: The footage starting at around 55 seconds is of Achill Island, Co Mayo. The shot of the 2 women walking over a bridge is taken just on the island from Achill Sound looking back over the bridge along the road towards Tonragee. The steep roofed building on the left is now the site of the Railway Hostel and adjacent to the building on the right is now the excellent Alice's bar. (At 48 seconds the mountain in the background looks an awful lot like Slievemore to me but it's hard to say..? (Michael:) Incidentally I met lady Mayo in Hong Kong in 1955.
