3. Close of dome with main telescope
4. Various of town and wooded area
5. Various of people looking at photographs by Russian photographer Yuri Palmin at exhibition at Observatory
6. Close of photographs by Russian photographer Yuri Palmin
7. SOUNDBITE (Russian) Yevgeny Shentsov, senior astrophysicist:
People here have got brains, they can process information, they are able to discover stuff, no question, but without a material base, without new telescopes and spectrographs, we can't survive.
8. Photographs by Russian photographer Yuri Palmin
9. Set up of former observatory director Yuri Balega
10. Various of computer images of stars blurred by atmospheric dust seen on screen
11. SOUNDBITE (English) Yuri Balega, former observatory director:
You see we are astronomers here, we can do only this work, nothing more, only science, only astronomy. So all people who live here in this village they are enthusiastic, they are slightly crazy with their science because of their activity and their fanatic tendency to observe, to study the universe, to study the stars and galaxies, only because of that we are still alive and we can continue.
12. Mid of scientist Alexander Moskavin and woman walking out of building
13. Cutaway of dog
14. SOUNDBITE (Russian) Alexander Moskavin, specialist in gamma bursts and the Observatory rock band's drummer:
The whole scientific community joins forces and divides up roles - who observes what and when. A telescope in one country gives information to the other guys, these guys look at something else and that's how it all works - over the space of one night on earth, space observatory cupolas open all across the world and people watch the event.
15. Various of sign reading: (Russian) Special Astrophysical Observatory
16. SOUNDBITE (English) Simon Mraz, director of the Austrian Cultural Forum in Moscow:
Here is happening fundamental science, so it's not something that is, you could immediately understand, and so people are in their scientific world and the artists they are actually in a completely different also possibly isolated world, wherever they are working and I think it was a very interesting experiment to bring these two worlds together here.
17. Mid of Irina Korina's work 'Svetilishka'

20. SOUNDBITE (English) Anya Titova, artist:
When it's dry it is like sand, but when you step on it, it becomes metallic silver colour and I thought that this could be the closest metaphor to stardust, as if the stars are made here.
