Crisp winter air, knee-deep autumn leaves, clear summer days and a riot of colour in spring; nowhere else in Queensland will you experience all four seasons as distinctively as right here. Just 90 minutes from Brisbane, Toowoomba crowns the edge of the Great Dividing Range 700 metres above sea level, overlooking the Lockyer Valley. Known as Queensland’s Garden City...so pack a picnic and relax in one of our 150-plus parks and gardens.
Join the locals and taste the colours of spring at their Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers! Enjoy their ten-day festival of nonstop fun and laughter, fireworks, parades, the coolest music and entertainment as well as the sensational wines and tantalising tastes of the region.
From March to May mellow tints of red and gold mark the autumn showing. In the winter months, enjoy rugging up and winding down. Locally made wine and delicious food will tantalise the tastebuds and warm the soul.
Toowoomba’s colonial history traces back to the early 1840s with the establishment of the first store on the Downs at “The Springs”, soon thereafter renamed Drayton. The National Trust-owned Royal Bull’s Head Inn dates from that period and you can still see it on Brisbane Street today. A drought in 1850 saw many re-settle a few kilometres to the northeast at what is now Toowoomba. After rapid expansion a new municipality was proclaimed in 1860, a township in 1892 and a city in 1904.
Toowoomba and its surrounds are strongly linked by an interconnected history that you can discover is alive and well in interactive museums, historical attractions and in streetscapes dotted with stately architecture. Make your first stop on the history trail the Cobb+Co Museum. You’ll find an outstanding collection of horse-drawn vehicles and the story of the natural and cultural history of Toowoomba and the Darling Downs. You can trace Cobb+Co's role in the expansion of the Southern Queensland Country region, beginning as a small mail run in 1866 transporting mail and passengers to Brisbane and beyond.

How Do Water Treatment Plants Work?
For most everyone around the world, turning on your tap and getting fresh clean water is just a way of life. While this might seem to be a simple fact of modern civilization, it's a relatively new innovation in the timeline of human development.
Access to fresh water is one of the largest drivers of creating a modern society, but what allows everyone access to seemingly endless supplies of potable water? It depends on where you live, but chances are behind your tap there's a municipal water treatment plant.
There are two main types of water treatment plants: drinking water and wastewater plants. We'll be focusing in on drinking water plants here, but if you'd like to learn about how wastewater is treated, you can watch a video on the topic here.
Both types of treatment plants serve the purpose of cleaning water, but in general, wastewater treatment plants will output water, or effluent, into streams or rivers and drinking water plants, or potable water treatment plants, will output their treated water into a city's pipe distribution network.
The question still remains, how exactly does one treatment plant take dirty river or well water and turn it into water that is safe to drink? It involves a lot of processing using chemicals, filters, and removing all of the toxins and hazards from a given water source.

How to choose the right portable toilet? How to use Portable Camping Toilets
In this video Luke from the Toowoomba Tentworld store explains some of the features found in portable toilets, and why you might want these.
Portable camping toilets are a great addition to any campsite and can make a task that when camping may not be so pleasant, almost the same or as good as home.
In this video, the following topics are covered:
1) Warranty. Consider what warranty & experience the company has for the toilet you're buying. Well known established brands have lots of experience.
2) Flusher Types - Luke explains the difference between bellows & piston pumps. Bellows can be hard to push for children & just requires more effort. Piston is easier to pump & can be more efficient with water.
3) Spare Part Availability. Think about the future life of your toilet, and access to spare parts. This can save you money in the future.
4) Chemicals. Thetford Pink Chemical is recommended for the top tank for deodoriser. Thetford Green Chemical is recommended for the bottom tank to break down the waste, and make it easier to dispose of.
5) Toilet Paper. It is recommended to use marine toilet paper, not regular household toilet paper. This breaks down faster, is easier to pour out later.
We hope you enjoy this video. If you have any video requests please feel free to drop these in the comments below and we'll do our best to do them for you!

Explore Theodore, QLD
We’re pushing towards another part of the Dawson River this afternoon to an outback town that has a link to Australia’s capital. Theodore, one of the first towns in Queensland to have roundabouts and that’s because the town planner was Walter Burleigh Griffin. This is the same bloke who planned the capital of Australia, Canberra. Got him to blame him for that worn out front left!!
