Places to see in ( Hayling Island - UK )
Hayling Island is an island off the south coast of England, in the borough of Havant in the county of Hampshire, near Portsmouth. Hayling Island is a true island, completely surrounded by sea. Looking at its north to south orientation, it is shaped like an inverted T, about 6.5 kilometres (4.0 mi) long and 6.5 kilometres (4.0 miles) wide. A road bridge connects its northern end to the mainland of England at Langstone. The Hayling Ferry is a small foot-passenger ferry connecting to the Eastney area of the city of Portsmouth on the neighbouring Portsea Island. To the west is Langstone Harbour and to the east is Chichester Harbour.
The natural beach at Hayling was predominantly sandy, but in recent years it has been mechanically topped with shingle dredged from the bed of the Solent in an effort to reduce beach erosion and reduce the potential to flood low-lying land. At low tide, the East Winner sandbank is visible, extending a mile out to sea. The coastline in this area has substantially changed since Roman times: it is believed much land has been lost from the coasts of Hayling and Selsey by erosion and subsequent flooding.
Hayling Island has a non-League football club, Hayling United F.C., which plays at Hayling Park. Although largely residential, Hayling is also a holiday, windsurfing and sailing centre, the site where windsurfing was invented. Until March 2015, Hayling Ferry linked Portsmouth and Hayling Island. The ferry was busy in summer in good weather, bringing tourists and cyclists to Hayling.
Terrier steam locomotives pulled carriages along the 5-mile (8 km) Hayling Billy Line from Havant Station on the mainland to a station which was located at the northern end of Staunton Avenue, passing through Langstone where there was a Halt. A tourist attraction — the East Hayling Light Railway — is a 2 ft (610 mm) gauge railway that runs for just over 1 mile (1.6 km) from Beachlands Station to Eastoke Corner with aspirations to extend the route to Ferry Point within the next few years. Oysters have been fished on the Hayling oysterbeds, at the northwest corner of the island, as long ago as Roman times, documented in town records since 1615.

The first (2007) was The Grand Plan at the Manor House where Willaim Padwick describes his plans to make hayling Island the best resort on the south coast, and the second (2008) is the unveiling of the parish stocks located at East Stoke corner by local MP David Willets. Acted by HIADS members with dancers from Island Dance Fusion.
[UK] Stagecoach in Portsmouth Route 30: Havant - Hayling Island - Havant
Time to go towards the Portsmouth & Havant area. Here I present to you the 30 (run by Stagecoach in Portsmouth) that goes from Havant Bus Station to Hayling Island. In Hayling Island, it does an anticlockwise loop (with sister route 31 doing a clockwise loop) serving Beachlands, Eastoke and Mengham before going back to Havant.
My rating: 8/10. Views are very nice when coming in or out of the island, and the route is excellent for providing a public transport link from the island to the rest of the world.

Lyme Regis Branch Summer 2008 HD Microsoft Train Simulator
Summer 2008. An EWS Class 37 visits the Lyme Regis Branch, Dorset, England - courtesy Microsoft Train Simulator.
The original video uploaded to YouTube was 1280x720 30fps.
We join the loco as it leaves Axminster (in Devon), crosses the main line and traverses the curves of the branch showing the beautiful countryside.
The free Lyme Regis MSTS route was obtained from uktrainsim.com
Sadly, in the real world the branch closed in 1965, and even the main line is a singled shadow of its former self, although the line was doubled in 2009 through Axminster station to create a passing loop. The distinctive viaduct (not the reinforced arch) still exists.

Ad Hoc Players Calendar Girls Teaser Trailer
After Annie's husband John dies from leukaemia, her best friend Chris comes up with a novel idea to raise funds for a new sofa for the visitors' lounge in the hospital where he was treated; a nude calendar featuring the members of the local Women's Institute!
Initially sceptical, other members of the WI agree to take part as long as the photos are artistic (no front bottoms). Having roped in Lawrence, a porter at the hospital and amateur photographer, the girls overcome the opposition from their branch Chairman and create their calendar. But will they manage to raise enough funds to replace the sofa? And what will the impact of being calendar girls really mean for Chris and Annie's friendship?
• Based on the Miramax motion picture by Juliette Towhidi and Tim Firth
• An amateur production in association with Samuel French Ltd
Calendar Girls was first presented by David Pugh Ltd at Chichester Festival Theatre on 5 September 2008 and transferred to the Noel Coward Theatre, London, on 4 April 2009.
The show's producers are aiming to break into the Guinness World Records and establish the record for the most productions of a play in one calendar year, as well as raising money for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research. Ad Hoc Players are proud to be involved in this record breaking attempt and will be donating £1 from every ticket sold to the charity which is dedicated to improving the lives of patients with all types of blood cancer, including leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma.
