The Art of the United Kingdom refers to all forms of visual art in or associated with the United Kingdom since the formation of the Kingdom of Great Britain in 1707 and encompass English art, Scottish art, Welsh art and Irish art, and forms part of Western art history. During the 18th century Britain began to reclaim the leading place England had played in European art during the Middle Ages, being especially strong in portraiture and landscape art. Increasing British prosperity led to a greatly increased production of both fine art and the decorative arts, the latter often being exported. The Romantic period resulted from very diverse talents, including the painters William Blake, J. M. W. Turner, John Constable and Samuel Palmer. The Victorian period saw a great diversity of art, and a far larger quantity created than before. Much Victorian art is now out of critical favour, with interest concentrated on the Pre-Raphaelites and the innovative movements at the end of the 18th century. The training of artists, which had long been neglected, began to improve in the 18th century through private and government initiatives, and greatly expanded in the 19th. Public exhibitions and the later opening of museums brought art to a wider public, especially in London. In the 19th century publicly displayed religious art once again became popular after a virtual absence since the Reformation, and, as in other countries, movements such as the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood and the Glasgow School contended with established Academic art. The British contribution to early Modernist art was relatively small, but since World War II British artists have made a considerable impact on Contemporary art, especially with figurative work, and Britain remains a key centre of an increasingly globalized art world.

I took a trip from Plymouth to Penzance in Cornwall. I had been there many years before. So it was li,e starting again. I found tthe Pen Lee House and Gardens, with a gallery looking at the Newly school of artists. Google them. I then walked to Pen Lee point and light house. On the way back I got talking to local fish mongers in there store.
I manged to take a look at the Penlee park Open theater which operates there in the summer. I manged to check out the quay where the Isles of Scilly ferries leave from.
It is only just over 11 miles to Lands end so next time I will take my bike free on thevtrain and cycle there. A great place to visit.

Trebarwith Strand, Storm Imogen. Waves on road

Incredible sea at Trebarwith in Cornwall today (8/2/16) at high tide, with the odd wave coming right over the wall & up the road, this was the most dramatic that I saw while there. Four cars had been parked there a few minutes beforehand.

Please always make sure you're well above where any water is likely to go & never turn your back on the sea like I saw several ppl do to take selfies exactly where the big wave ends up.

THE HONOURABLE MR JUSTICE DINGEMANS:
1. By this application Mrs Berry asks for an order that all public servants must undertake to act with honour at all times in public office and honour under the Uniform Commercial Code or be removed from office immediately.
2. In oral submissions Mrs Berry has explained that she is concerned about activities at primary schools which appear to have been part investigated by the police but then covered up, as she puts it, and she relies on the petition of some 16,000 people who she says support her case.
3. All that may be, but there is no one here to represent the police and in those circumstances it is wholly inappropriate for me to make an order without hearing the other side. Mrs Berry, thank you very much indeed for coming along.
MRS BERRY: So could I have another opportunity to bring the police notice—
THE JUDGE: I cannot stop you, unless you have been made the subject of a civil restraint order, I cannot stop you making applications and serving them on people but obviously you will need to consider whether you have the evidence to justify any application that you make and, of course, it—
MRS BERRY: I seek an emergency injunction for the return of my property—
THE JUDGE: No, I have refused you the—
MRS BERRY: My property that’s been stolen.
THE JUDGE: If you want to apply, you have to serve a notice on the people who you say have taken your property so that I can hear them and you and then I can perhaps make an order, if it is appropriate, having heard them and having heard you but I am not going to do it—
MRS BERRY: Is it possible to adjourn today so that I may call them next time but I was seeking an emergency injunction—
THE JUDGE: I have refused your emergency injunction. I cannot obviously give you any advice about what further steps you want to take but thank you very much for your attendance—
MRS BERRY: What about my remedy? I wish to invoke my common law for remedy and I’m requiring you to give me a remedy today. I do not accept that you can deny me my remedy today because I was… I will issue you with a cease and desist notice and I will issue you with a notice of dishonour and I will also carry out a public citizen’s arrest on you if you do not provide me with a remedy under Uniform Commercial Code 3503, 504, 505 and 1308 without prejudice.

Crackington Haven And Beach Cornwall.

Crackington Haven is a coastal village in Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. It is in the civil parish of St Gennys at grid reference SX140972 at the head of a cove on the Atlantic coast. The village is seven miles (11km) south-southwest of Bude and four miles (7km) north-northeast of Boscastle.
Middle Crackington and Higher Crackington are associated settlements. They are situated on the hill southeast of Crackington Haven, half-a-mile and one mile distant respectively.
Crackington Haven is popular with tourists, walkers and geology students. The surrounding cliffs are well known for their visible folded sedimentary rock formations. The village gives its name to the Crackington formation, a sequence of Carboniferous sandstones and grey shales.
The village has a small shop, two tea rooms and a pub called the Coombe Barton Inn in a building which was originally the house of the manager of a local slate quarry.
Crackington Haven has a stony foreshore but a sandy beach is revealed at low water. There are toilet facilities near the beach and lifeguard cover in the summer.
Immediately north of the beach is Pencarrow Point and a few hundred yards south is Cambeak headland (between Tremoutha Haven and Cam Strand); the clifftop here is 328ft. Cambeak is derived from Old Cornish and means crooked point. One mile south of Crackington Haven, High Cliff rises to 735 feet (224m) with a sheer drop to the rocky foreshore. It is Cornwall's highest cliff and is also classified as southern Britain's highest sheer-drop cliff (Great Hangman in Devon has a cliff face of 820 feet (250m).
Crackington Haven lies within the Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). Almost a third of Cornwall has AONB designation, with the same status and protection as a National Park.
