Arthur River Cruises - Tasmania
The Arthur River lies on the north of the Tarkine (the largest temperate rainforest area in Australia) and has never been dammed or logged. The area has a long history with ties to the early mining and timber industries of the rugged west coast.

Corinna Wilderness - Secrets of the Tarkine
In 2019 I was invited to explore the incredibly rugged NW region of Tasmania, known as the Tarkine (Tarkyna). The Corinna Eco-Lodge, located in the area of Corinna, would be our home base for the four days we would have in the area.
Anyone who is looking for the perfect off-grid experience to reconnect with nature and / or their loved ones should seriously consider this beautiful and magical part of Australia.

Trowutta Arch - The Tarkine Drive - North West Tasmania
We ventured into the Tarkine via Stanley and our first stop was the Trowutta Arch. Our first taste of the gorgeous Tasmanian rainforest - the North West sure didn't disappoint!

Tarkine Drive Tasmania
The Tarkine is a hidden treasure and a forgotten wilderness here in Tasmania, and as such, has always intrigued me. It is the greatest expanse of cool temperate rainforest in Australia, and the second largest in the world! 477,000 hectares actually.
We love heading off the beaten track and into places relatively unknown just like this.
Check out our blog post here:
The Tasmanian wilderness on the North West Coast is a perfect example of how diverse, beautiful, rugged and virtually untouched Tasmania truly is.
【EDGE OF THE WORLD】TASMANIA (Gardiner Point, Arthur River)
Gardiners Point, south of Arthur River has been crowned the Edge of the World.
The sea west of Tasmania is the longest uninterrupted expanse of ocean on the globe. From Argentina the currents sweep unimpeded more than halfway around the planet until they hit this point.
Here, you can view a plaque of the words by Brian Inder (tourism pioneer):
I cast my pebble onto the shore of Eternity.
To be washed by the Ocean of time.
It has shape, form, and substance.
It is me.
One day I will be no more.
But my pebble will remain here.
On the shore of eternity.
Mute witness from the aeons.
That today I came and stood.
At the edge of the world.

Solo hike in Tasmania, 19 days in the Tarkine
A 19 days adventure, a mixe between packraft and hike. Probably the best way to explore the Tarkine.
Although not designated as a national park, the area contains a wildly diverse landscape - including Australia's largest patch of temperate rainforest - and a world of natural treasures including mountain ranges, wild river and cave systems, buttongrass moorlands, and a rugged coastline with long sandy beaches, grassy woodland and coastal heath.
Personally, the tarkine deserve to be protected, it's a extraordinary place.

Ep 15 Part 2 - North West and Tarkine Region, Tasmania
Riding through Smithton, Marrawah Beach, Arthur River, Edge of the World and through Tarkine Drive.
Tarkine
To see the Tarkine is to want to save it. Produced by the Bob Brown Foundation with the support of Patagonia, this short film showcases the spectacular landscapes of takayna/Tarkine.
Interviewed in the film, Bob Brown observes that in the next handful of years the fate of takayna/Tarkine will be decided - protected for all time as a World Heritage Area, a treasure trove of Aboriginal heritage and spectacular wilderness, or dug up and hacked down for a few quick bucks.
Featuring breathtaking drone footage of the coastline, forests, rivers and mountains, this film challenges us all to visit the Tarkine and not be moved to want to save it.
The Drive From Corinna to Arthur River
Arthur River Cruise
A leisurely cruise on the Arthur River, Tasmania.
1 Minute in the Tarkine Wilderness
The Tarkine Wilderness is part of the largest temperate rainforest in the world. It is truly an incredible part of the world. Why they are thinking of logging parts of it defies belief.
Tarkine Drive
Take the Tarkine Drive home to some of the worlds rarest flora and fauna, from temperate rainforests to sandy beaches. Ever wondered what it's like to visit the edge of the world... wonder no more.
takayna/Tarkine
Some aerial footage from the edge of Australia's largest temperate rainforest, takayna/Tarkine, in Tasmania's north west.
Reflections on the Tarkine
This is the first in a series of short videos showcasing the beauty of Tasmania's Tarkine rainforest, the largest intact tract in the southern hemisphere.
I hope to disengage people form the mindset that we need to dig up and destroy our wilderness in a never ending lust for profit and to re evaluate our values to appreciate that our natural world is our greatest resource and without it we are doomed.
The Tarkine is in danger of being largely destroyed by 10 open cut mining pits which will poison the waterways and drive over 60 unique and already rendangered species to the brink of destruction including the iconic Tasmanian Devil.
Cutting down old growth forests significantly increases the global temperature and directly affects atmospheric carbon levels by realeasing CO2 into the atomsphere whilst simultaneously destroying the earths natural mechanisms for reabsorbing carbon form the air.
Once you experience these forests for yourself you will realise that there is no way you could ever stand back and watch while they are destroyed, whatever the cost.
This is the feeling i hope to instill in people who watch this video.
Thank you

Trowutta Arch; Tarkine Drive, Tasmania
The Trowutta Arch is a rare Geological feature which is stunning. The walk in is simply beautiful and to find the natural arch formation through which you can explore a natural sinkhole is the icing on the cake.
