Munro Cup Semi Finals
MATCH REPORT - MUNRO CUP SEMI FINALS
Team SMO had a busy morning covering two well contested semi-finals at Hull University for the Munro Cup.
In the first of the semi-finals, Springhead Tigers lead to a comfortable 2-0 lead with an outstanding free kick in the first half, and a half volley to finish the game in the second half – both courtesy of Mike Pecora. FC Cumberland played well but had limited chances to score throughout.
The second semi final proved a much closer affair with Sunday 2nd division (and a well supported) Hanson Electrical Afc facing Sunday Premier League side Three Tuns. There was nothing between the two teams with Three Tuns scoring first in the second half.
A great equaliser by Hanson’s Craig Sedman brought the game level. The game was sure to come to extra time, concluding only with a controversial penalty awarded to Three Tuns in the 89th minute, crushing Hanson who had been strong throughout.
Well done to Springhead Tigers and Three Tuns who will face each other at the final on Sunday 1st May at the Roy West Centre.

LET ME TAKE YOU OUT TONIGHT | BLOCK | Jack Mann
‘LET ME TAKE YOU OUT TONIGHT’ from BLOCK started out as an improvisation with @lukkefeatherstone and went on to become a staple of my first printed contemporary poetry collection. The first of the three poems recorded from my first featured set in October, big thanks go to @ciaronelm for putting me on, @cxgmedia for these Three Tuns clips and for @threetunssheff themselves for keeping us well watered.

God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen
The very first sing-out of Castle Carols, a group set up by acclaimed Shropshire folk musician John Kirkpatrick to resurrect the 'village carols' in the South Shropshire area. The group of between sixty and eighty people, many of whom had never sung before, had been together for just six practices before launching themselves on the unsuspecting people of Bishop's Castle, assailing them with harmonies, fugues and symphonies till their ears rang and the rafters ascended! Sung loudly, robustly and with a touch of competition between the parts, accompanied by Mr Kirkpatrick's exuberant piano playing (he would probably have preferred the keyboard to be on-end and hanging from his neck!), the group plan to repeat the exercise every Sunday lunchtime in December 2018, as well as on Boxing Day, at The Three Tuns, Salop Street, Bishops Castle.
