WELSH TOWN in Patagonia, Argentina + Welsh AFTERNOON TEA at Ty Gwyn in GAIMAN, Chubut ????
Hey guys! We are Samuel and Audrey, a travel vlogging couple from Canada. In this travel channel we share our travel and food vlogs while touring the world.
We had the privilege of traveling around Argentina for nearly 3 months from January- April 2019 on a trip covering a large section of the country.
We kicked things off with several days in Buenos Aires where we were joined by Audrey's parents eating and sightseeing around some of our favourite neighbourhoods in the city. We then flew from Buenos Aires to Cordoba where we spent a couple of weeks in the Sierras of Cordoba visiting both La Cumbrecita and Villa General Belgrano with highlights including hiking and delicious German and Swiss cuisine.
From Cordoba, we then travelled a considerable distance on an overnight bus to Mar Del Plata just in time for a special food festival called Feria Masticar featuring the best of Argentine food and wine. We spent several days enjoying beaches and seafood before heading south to Patagonia to visit the province of Chubut.
While on the Atlantic side of Chubut we visited Puerto Madryn, Peninsula Valdes, Trelew, Gaiman and Dolavon. To summarize our time in this area, we had incredibly close encounters with wildlife including penguins, sea lions and guanacos while also experiencing Welsh culture in Argentina.
Our time in Patagonia continued as we headed from east to west trading more barren landscapes for thick forests, impressive mountains and magnificent lakes. We spent significant time in both Esquel and El Bolson with day trips to visit Trevelin, Parque Nacional Los Alerces, Cholila and Lago Puelo. Highlights included sailing, hiking, riding vintage trains and partaking in the national asado festival.
We finished visiting Patagonia with time spent in Villa La Angostura, San Martin De Los Andes and Bariloche where we enjoyed more stunning scenery and hiking. On our way back to Buenos Aires, we took the Tren Patagonia to Las Grutas before meeting up with Audrey's dad again.
To finish off our trip in Argentina, we spent more time in the capital and later Mendoza where we got to experience wine tourism to its fullest extent. Overall, we had an amazing time travelling around Argentina having only scratched the surface of this vast and diverse country.
Overall our Argentina travel series explores cities, small towns that are off-the-beaten-path, and scenic attractions with a strong emphasis on Argentina cuisine and local culture.

The thought that we were the other side of the world with people the same as us who spoke the same language. By now though I have been here so many times, I don't get the same feeling, but I do see it in other people who come here from Wales. I see that they feel exactly the same as I did when I first came here.

OUR ADVENTURE IN PATAGONIA CONTINUES! Long Overnight Bus Ride From Trelew to Esquel, Argentina
Come join us as our adventure in Patagonia continues crossing from east to west as take a long overnight bus from Trelew to Esquel, Chubut, Argentina. Because our overnight bus didn't leave until the evening we arranged to keep our bags in Trelew while we headed over to Gaiman on a day-trip.
Before leaving Trelew we give you a full tour of our spacious apartment which we really enjoyed aside from the slow internet. After grabbing our bags we head to a cafe for a small snack before boarding the overnight bus.
The journey itself was quite bumpy for certain stretches and we arrived in Esquel feeling really groggy. After some coffee and breakfast we jumped in a cab and headed to our apartment in Esquel.
With a quick grocery tour and a friendly cat, which was comfortable enough to come inside, we say goodbye with more episodes from Esquel coming out soon.

BEACH TOWN IN PATAGONIA | Visiting Puerto Piramides on Valdes Peninsula | Chubut, Argentina
In today's travel video, we explore the Patagonian beach town of Puerto Piramides, which is the only town located within the Valdes Peninsula. The town has a population of just over 700, though for a few months of the year, the whale population far exceeds the number of inhabitants on land! We had one full day to explore Puerto Piramides, so we spent it: watching the sunrise up on the cliffs, hiking out to the lobería where we saw sea lions, eating a delicious seafood pasta at La Covacha, strolling down the colourful Avenue of the Whales, and enjoying our stay at the Oceano Patagonia eco-hotel. We hope you enjoy this little taste of a beach town in Patagonia and we'll see you tomorrow with more adventures around the peninsula!

This is the WELSH TEA HOUSE that PRINCESS DIANA visited in Gaiman, Chubut, Argentina
Come join us for another travel episode from Argentina where we have afternoon tea at Ty Te Caerdyd, the Welsh Tea House, that Princess Diana visited in Gaiman, Chubut. We kick things off with a visit to a farmhouse called Narlu which specializes in delicious jams, cakes and other fruits which you can pick directly from the trees and vines.
After walking back into Gaiman we followed many signs until we finally reached Ty Te Caerdydd. The place is more than we expected in terms of beautiful gardens and a pristine property. We ended up ordering a full afternoon tea set which came with buttery breads and a wonderful assortment of cakes and tea and coffee. It was an experience we'd highly recommend for anyone visiting Gaiman. Considering we had to wait for an evening bus it was a great way to spend the day.

Spotting SEA LIONS in Peninsula Valdes on a Boat Tour | Chubut, Argentina
For our last day on the Valdes Peninsula, we joined an excursion to visit Caleta Valdes and Punta Delgada, two destinations which are said to be great for wildlife spotting! First up, we kicked off the day with a boat tour to the loberia, which is a rocky outcrop where you can see sea lions.
Because we visited in February, there were lots of newborn pups playing and clumsily climbing around the larger sea lions; it was so fun to just sit back and watch them be. We also saw the alpha male strutting on his flippers, body arched upwards, observing his harem and eventually approaching a female. It was quite the scene and camera shutters were going off like crazy!
From there, we continued to Caleta Valdes, which is often referred to as a 'geographic accident'; it’s basically a long and narrow body of water that’s been naturally closed off by a strip of land, with only a small opening connecting it to the sea. We got to see Magellanic penguins here, who had built their nests on a rather steep hill!
We then continued to Punta Delgada Lightouse, a former post office and military building turned sheep farm, countryside hotel and restaurant. We had some empanadas and lamb stew for lunch (all very tasty!), before continuing on to a beach location where we watched as elephant seals made their way back to sea.
This was our final tour with Argentina Vision ( and then it was back to Puerto Madryn!

Come join us for tantalizing Argentine Food as we sample Patagonian Lamb and Mushroom risotto in Puerto Madryn, Argentina at restaurant Parador Yoaquina. Located just a few blocks away from our rental apartment, we immediately enjoyed the laid back vibe, friendly dogs and close proximity to the beach. GERMAN FOOD IN ARGENTINA! + Town Tour of VILLA GENERAL BELGRANO, Córdoba
Greetings from Villa General Belgrano! In today's video, we take you on a tour of this German town in the province of Córdoba, plus we also try German food at Blumen.
Villa General Belgrano is a mountainside town in the Calamuchita Valley in the Province of Córdoba that was founded by Germans in 1930 and soon attracted immigrants from Germany, Switzerland, Italy and Austria. Today, the town has a distinct Alpine architectural style with wood-frame homes, and it's also managed to maintain its German culture, which is really visible through its food! Restaurants serve up German dishes and there are also lots of micro-breweries for those looking to sample the beer. This town also hosts the biggest Oktoberfest outside of Germany!
We ate at Blumen where we tried pork cutlet with mushrooms and gravy, chucrut (sauerkraut with bacon), boiled potatoes with parsley, caramelized apples and peas. We paired this with a blond beer and a red beer from the local Berlin brewery. For dessert, we went with a classic and tried the Apfelstrudel, which is a delicious a pastry stuffed with apples, nuts, raisins.
Guten appetit and we hope you enjoy our little walking tour through town!

Visiting La Cumbrecita, Cordoba + Eating German Food in Argentina
Come join us in as we sample eating German food in Argentina while visiting La Cumbrecita, Cordoba. Having an opportunity to revisit La Cumbrecita, a small town where Audrey spent some years growing up, was one of the highlights of our return trip to Argentina. In this video we show you what the small town of La Cumbrecita is all about in terms of attractions, major landmarks and things to do.
For our meal we end up trying German Food. There is a big population of German, Swiss and Austrian Argentines in this particular region of Cordoba, Argentina. With this in mind you can have some of the best German food in Argentina while visiting this region. We'd highly recommend bringing an appetite as German cuisine tends to be quite hearty.

Visiting La Cumbrecita, Cordoba + Eating German Food in Argentina:

Argentina: The Welsh Settlers
In 1865, 150 Welsh immigrants escaping from poverty, politics and the prohibition of the Welsh tongue in their schools, sailed into Puerto Madryn in Patagonia. They arrived to find an equally harsh existence with long cold winters and such poor soil they could not farm. Then one of the women settlers devised an irrigation system that changed their lives. Before long they had the best wheat in Argentina. In Gaiman, we meet Marta Rees a descendant of those immigrants and whose family established the first Welsh tearoom in Patagonia. Mar del Plata to PUERTO MADRYN by Overnight Bus | Argentina Travel Vlog
Our travels across Argentina continue. In this video, we begin another long overnight bus journey from the city of Mar del Plata to Puerto Madryn, where we get our first taste of coastal Patagonia! In terms of bus rides in Argentina, this was our longest one yet leaving at 8PM and not arriving until the following day at 1PM. All in all a 17 hour trip with Don Otto which cost $64 per person.
We kick off the travel vlog with a tour of our $45 apartment in Mar Del Plata. We honestly loved this place in terms of location, views, fast internet and comfort. Afterwards we hopped in a cab en route to Mar Del Plata bus terminal. For our big meal of the day we grabbed a milanesa napolitana and a slice of lemon pie to share at a cafe.
We had a small snack box for dinner before watching a movie on the bus. It was comfortable on the bus but it was a really long journey which ended up extending to 18 or 19 hours. Upon arriving in Puerto Madryn we grabbed empanadas for lunch and then shrimp pizza for dinner with ice cream afterwards.

BEST HIKING in Esquel, Patagonia, Argentina: LAGUNA LA ZETA + CERRO DE LA CRUZ
Come join us for another travel blog from Esquel as we explore some of the best hiking in Patagonia, Argentina by showcasing hikes to Laguna La Zeta and Cerro de la Cruz. Some of the best hiking in Esquel can be done directly from just outside of the city centre. Most of the nearby hikes departing from Esquel are easy half day adventures. Our two favorites were easy hikes to Laguna La Zeta and Cerro de la Cruz. Although you can take a taxi up the hill to the trail section of Laguna La Zeta we'd recommend walking to the trail section if you have the energy because you get some of the best views of Esquel along the way. Laguna La Zeta offers stunning mountain views and calm waters that are perfect for kayaking. Hiking up to Cerro de la Cruz offers you views of Esquel from the opposite direction. Although we didn't make it to the top given the strong winds we'd recommend you do so with proper gear. If you visit Esquel you should definitely consider some of the day hikes on offer as it was our favorite way of spending time in the city.
