Katie Whittaker You Got the Love Twa Tams Perth Perthshire Scotland
Tour Scotland video of Katie Whittaker singing a cover version of You Got the Love in the Twa Tams Bar on visit to Perth, Perthshire. Katie is the wonderful female vocalist from Red Pine Timber Co. You Got the Love is a 1986 single by Candi Staton. It was then remixed by The Source and re-released in 1991 as The Source and Candi Staton. In 2008, the song was covered by English soul singer Joss Stone for her fourth studio album, Colour Me Free!, released in October 2009. In November 2009, another cover version was released as a single by English indie rock band Florence and the Machine.
Sometimes I feel like throwing my hands up in the air
I know I can count on you
Sometimes I feel like saying Lord I just don't care
But you've got the love I need To see me through
Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough
And things go wrong no matter what I do
Now and then it seems that life is just too much
But you've got the love I need to see me through
When food is gone you are my daily meal
When friends are gone I know my Saviour's love is real
You know it's real
You got the love
You got the love
You got the love
You got the love
You got the love
You got the love
Time after time I think Oh Lord what's the use?
Time after time I think it's just no good
'Cause sooner or later in life, the things you love you loose
But you got the love I need to see me through
You got the love
You got the love
You got the love
You got the love
You got the love
You got the love
Sometimes I feel like throwing my hands up in the air
'Cause I know I can count on you
Sometimes I feel like saying Lord I just don't care
But you've got the love I need to see me through

Katie Whittaker Travelin' Soldier Twa Tams Perth Perthshire Scotland
Tour Scotland video of Katie Whittaker singing a cover version of Travelin' Soldier in the Twa Tams Bar on visit to Perth, Perthshire. Katie is the wonderful female vocalist from Red Pine Timber Co. Travelin' Soldier is a song written and originally recorded by American country music artist Bruce Robison in 1996 and again, in rewritten form, in 1999. It was later recorded by Ty England on his 1999 album, Highways & Dance Halls. The first rendition to be issued as a single was by the Dixie Chicks. The song is a tale about a shy, lonesome, young American soldier who strikes up a conversation and later a correspondence with a high school girl during the Vietnam War era.
Two days past eighteen
He was waiting for the bus in his army greens
Sat down in a booth in a cafe there
Gave his order to a girl with a bow in her hair
He's a little shy so she gives him a smile
And he said would you mind sittin' down for a while
And talking to me, I'm feeling a little low
She said I'm off in an hour and I know where we can go
So they went down and they sat on the pier
He said I bet you got a boyfriend but I don't care
I got no one to send a letter to
Would you mind if I sent one back here to you
Chorus: I cried
Never gonna hold the hand of another guy
Too young for him they told her
Waitin' for the love of a travelin' soldier
Our love will never end
Waitin' for the soldier to come back again
Never more to be alone when the letter said
A soldier's coming home
So the letters came from an army camp
In California then Vietnam
And he told her of his heart
It might be love and all of the things he was so scared of
He said when it's getting kinda rough over here
I think of that day sittin' down at the pier
And I close my eyes and see your pretty smile
Don't worry but I won't be able to write for awhile
Chorus: I cried
Never gonna hold the hand of another guy
Too young for him they told her
Waitin' for the love of a travelin' soldier
Our love will never end
Waitin' for the soldier to come back again
Never more to be alone when the letter said
A soldier's coming home
One Friday night at a football game
The Lord's prayer said and the Anthem sang
A man said folks would you bow your heads
For a list of local Vietnam dead
Crying all alone under the stands
Was a piccolo player in the marching band
And one name read and nobody really cared
But a pretty little girl with a bow in her hair
Chorus: I cried
Never gonna hold the hand of another guy
Too young for him they told her
Waitin' for the love of a travelin' soldier
Our love will never end
Waitin' for the soldier to come back again
Never more to be alone when the letter says
A soldier's coming
Chorus: I cried
Never gonna hold the hand of another guy
Too young for him they told her
Waitin' for the love of a travelin' soldier
Our love will never end
Waitin' for the soldier to come back again
Never more to be alone when the letter says
A soldier's coming home

Katie Whittaker Price Tag Twa Tams Perth Perthshire Scotland
Tour Scotland video of Katie Whittaker singing a cover version of Price Tag in the Twa Tams Bar on visit to Perth, Perthshire. Katie is the wonderful female vocalist from Red Pine Timber Co.
It seems like everybody's got a price
I wonder how they sleep at night
When the sale comes first and the truth come
second
Just stop for a minute and smile
Why is everybody so serious?
Acting so damn mysterious
Got your shades on your eyes and your heels so high
That you can't even have a good time
Everybody look to their left
Everybody look to their right
Can you feel that? (Yeah)
We're paying with love tonight
It's not about the money, money, money
We don't need your money, money, money
We just wanna make the world dance
Forget about the price tag
Ain't about the (uh) cha-ching, cha-ching
Ain't about the (yeah) ba-bling, ba-bling
Wanna make the world dance
Forget about the price tag
Why is every one so serious?
Acting so damn mysterious
Got your shades on your eyes and your heels so high
You can't even have a good time
Why is everybody so obsessed?
Money can't buy us happiness
Can we all slow down and enjoy right now
Guarantee we'll be feelin' alright
Everybody look to their left
Everybody look to their right
Can you feel that? Yeah
We'll pay them with love
It's not about the money, money, money
We don't need your money, money, money
We just wanna make the world dance
Forget about the price tag
Ain't about the (uh) cha-ching, cha-ching
Ain't about the (yeah) ba-bling, ba-bling
Wanna make the world dance
Forget about the price tag
Yeah, yeah, well, keep the price tag and take the cash back
Just give me six strings and a half stack
And you can keep the cars, leave me the garage
And all I, yes, all I need are keys and guitars
And guess what, in 30 seconds I'm leaving to Mars
Yeah, we leaving across these undefeatable odds
It's like this man, you can't put a price on life
We do this for the love, so we fight and sacrifice every night
So we ain't gon' stumble and fall, never
Waiting to see in the sign of defeat, uh uh
So we gon' keep everyone moving their feet
So bring back the beat and then everyone sing, it's not about
It's not about the money, money, money
We don't need your money, money, money
We just wanna make the world dance
Forget about the price tag
Ain't about the (uh) cha-ching, cha-ching
Ain't about the (yeah) ba-bling, ba-bling
Wanna make the world dance
Forget about the price tag
It's not about the money, money, money
We don't need your money, money, money
We just wanna make the world dance
Forget about the price tag
Ain't about the (uh) cha-ching, cha-ching
Ain't about the (yeah) ba-bling, ba-bling
Wanna make the world dance
forget about the price tag

Ghost Train, our 3rd studio album, seems to be getting a lot of attention worldwide :0)
-
A very surprising and varied CD which I value very highly. With this Lewis has delivered a professional CD that deserves much attention

Ghost Train is a very strong and varied album that provides some good promotion ...

Lewis Hamilton seems to be a flawless offspring of the North American roots of the blues.
Steve Brown (Rocktimes.DE)

While he has shown that he can hold his own with any guitarist on the scene, he is so much more. His work is soulful, evoking images in the mind of the listener that one would expect from a man twice his age.
Bill Wilson (Reflections in Blue)
-
There are traces in his style of Henrik Freischlader -- always looking for a fresh way of presenting the music and not afraid of taking a new direction 'Ghost Train' is an always interesting disc ...
John Hurd (3songsbonn.com)

This is heartfelt soulful music, just as honest as the day is long in June, and when music has that much integrity, it just has to be good.
Jon Seymour (Firebrand Magazine)

The music is solid - the trio rocks, sometimes gets funky ... Definitely recommended for fans of the genre.

Blair Davie Last Request Twa Tams Perth Scotland

Slow down, Lie down,
Remember it's just you and me.
Don't sell out, bow out,
Remember how this used to be.
I just want you closer,
Is that alright?
Baby let's get closer tonight
Grant my last request,
And just let me hold you.
Don't shrug your shoulders,
Lay down beside me.
Sure I can accept that we're going nowhere,
But one last time let's go there,
Lay down beside me
Oh, I've found, that I'm bound
To wander down that one way road.
And I realise all about your lies
But I'm no wiser than the fool I was before.
I just want you closer,
Is that alright?
Baby let's get closer tonight
Oh, baby, baby, baby,
Tell me how can, how can this be wrong ?
Yeah, lay down beside me.
One last time let's go there,
Lay down beside me

Gavin Munro Oh My Sweet Carolina Twa Tams Perth Scotland
Tour Scotland video of Gavin Munro singing a cover version of Oh My Sweet Carolina by Ryan Adams in Twa Tams Bar on visit to Perth, Perthshire. Gavin is accompanied on stage by members of the Red Pine Timber Co band.
Well I went down to Houston and I stopped in San Antone
I passed up the station for the bus
Was trying to find me something but I wasn't sure just what
I ended up with pockets full of dust.
So I went on to Cleveland and ended up insane
Bought a borrowed suit and learned to dance
I was spending money like the way it likes to rain
And I ended up with pockets full of 'caine.
Oh my sweet Carolina
What compels me to go?
Oh my sweet disposition
May you one day carry me home.
I ain't never been to Vegas but I gambled up my life
Building news print boats I raced in sewer mains
I was trying to find me something but I wasn't sure just what
Funny how they say that some things never change.
Oh my sweet Carolina
What compels me to go?
Oh my sweet disposition
May you one day carry me home.
Up here in the city it feels like things are closing in
The sunset's just my light bulb burning out
I miss Kentucky and I miss my family
All the sweetest winds they blow across the south.
Oh my sweet Carolina
What compels me to go?
Oh my sweet disposition
May you one day carry me home
May you one day carry me home.
