Scenic Railway Dreamland Margate (one day before park closure)
Last rides on the Scenic Railway Dreamland Margate (50p a ride on that day). Taken the day before the park shut down in 2005, three years before an arson attack on 7 April, 2008. Due to public protest against the closure of the park, Dreamland reopens to the public on 19 June, 2015. The first five hundred tickets purchased in advanced received a small cube of wood, fashioned from boards from the original coaster.
The footage was taken on a non digital video camera the size of a fish tank. The re-opening of the park encouraged me to finally digitise the footage and share it.
On the day the batteries in the video camera ran out part of the way around the ride. I switched the camera off for a while and was able to get enough juice to film the rest of the ride from the rear of the train. I spliced the two halves almost seamlessly together digitally. You start in the front seat and arrive at the station in the back seat.
Enjoy the footage.
Keep your arms and legs inside the car at all time and don't stand up!
Hipgate - Part 3 - The Reason
In reaction to the Times Newspaper labelling Margate the '4th Hippest Town in the UK'. We graced the pavements with our camera and that infamous inappropriate microphone and asked tourists, hipsters and locals alike if they thought Margate was 'Hip' ? This is Part 3 of the 'HIPGATE' Web Series, the conclusion; The Reason!
Thanks to all who took part in interviews, and thanks to the good bloody people of Margate.

Great Britian Trailer The Civic Theatre Barnsley 20th & 21st of Feb
The Electric Theatre Company Presents Great Britain
From the Writer of One Man Two Governors
Richard Bean's hilarious fast and furious play Great Britain Comes to the Civic Theatre Barnsley is an anarchic and foul-mouthed satire about the press, the police, and the political establishment.
Paige Britain is the ambitious, morally-bankrupt young news editor of The Free Press, a tabloid newspaper locked in a never-ending battle for more readers.
But when Paige starts living as a self-described ‘super hero with special powers’, after discovering the benefits of illegal phone tapping, she risks putting herself and the many people around her into murky, morally dubious and dangerous territory.
This large-scale ensemble comedy successfully lampoons the recent past, making current events a timeless source of satire.
Reviews
‘Astounding. The most detailed stage satire I have ever seen.’ **** Financial Times
‘Blessedly funny. Bracing topicality. Richard Bean doesn’t do things by halves.’ **** The Guardian
‘Laughter-making on an industrial scale. The NT is on exhilarating and exemplary form.’ **** The Independent
‘It’s a loud, rambunctious, fast-moving and foul-mouthed entertainment packed with lurid characters and vulgar jokes. And if one joke doesn’t work, another will be along two seconds later. Never has corruption been this funny’ **** The Telegraph

Bachmann Apple Green A4 Golden Eagle 4482 Running in and Review
The Bachmann Apple Green A4 Golden Eagle 4482 is a non-DCC ready split chassis model, which basically means that the pickups are two insulated halves of a very weighty inner metal body. These halves rest on the driving wheel axles, which are themselves insulated at the centre. The motor is contained within the metal chassis frame, and contacts live to each half. These type locomotives are often a challenge to convert to DCC digital, beacuse of a lack of internal space. The newer 2012 Bachmann A4 has a revised non split-chassis, and is 8-pin DCC ready.
REVIEW
LOOKS: There is no mistaking that the A4 class looks rather special in Apple Green livery. This livery was not kept long, and was only present on a small number of A4s, including Golden Eagle and Golden Fleece. As such, it is infrequently available in ready to run form, and looks quite distinctive when run. There are very few colour photos available of the prototype, but the livery application on this Bachmann model is superb, with finely applied white boiler lining, and red lining around the lower part of the locomotive. The cab itself features the usual moulded detailing, but is not painted.
PERFORMANCE: This locomotive performs well under DCC control, as seen. Tip: fit the chip in the tender, use two ESU loksound wires and feed into the loco above the cartazzi truck. Add pickups to tender, with copper track tape, mounted onto black card. You can conceal this by having your pickups press into the inner rim of the tender wheels, and keep them in place using the tender body screws. If you wish to separate you tender, simply add a small two pin connector.
VALUE: This model is better than older Hornby tender drives, and railroad models, BUT should you wish to have it DCC chipped, you may find it complicated to attempt yourself, unless you are familiar with the principles involved.
A34 Congleton Road, Butt Lane - Southbound Front View
The A34 is one of the longest A-roads in Britain, running for 200 miles (320km) from Winchester on the south coast to Salford near Manchester, although it is now split into two halves which are joined by the M40 motorway.
The A34 heads south from Congleton towards Newcastle-under-Lyme. Along the way, it passes through the villages of Astbury, Scholar Green and Hall Green (Church Lawton) before entering the county of Staffordshire. In Staffordshire, it passes through Butt Lane and Talke, where it reaches the A500 Stoke D Road. South of the A500, it enters the suburbs of the 2nd largest town in Staffordshire, Newcastle-under-Lyme.
This video shows a southbound journey from the A50 to the A5011, through Butt Lane, a suburb of Kidsgrove. It is available in three versions:

How to Fillet a Fish (quick and easy way)
ALWAYS CUT AWAY FROM YOUR HAND!!! Here I show you how to fillet a fish. The example fish is a Blackfish aka Tog (Tautoga onitis). This method works for most fishes and is the simplest way to fillet. I give a basic breakdown of how to make your cuts and slowly go though it so you can follow along.
Here is the fillet kit I was using:
1.) Cut behind the head from the top all the way to the bottom of the head.
2.) Cut down the stomach cavity to the anal fin
3.) Cut along the dorsal fin rays starting from the head and moving to the tail
4.) Place the knife perpendicular to the backbone behind the head, and cut to the tail pressing down.
5.) Skin you fillet
6.) Wash your fillet with fresh water and cook or refrigerate for up to 5 days.
Disclaimer:
Always cut away from your hand, keep your knife sharp, and be careful!

The Enchanted Castle by E. Nesbit | Audiobook for children with subtitles
Three children, forced to remain at school during the holidays, go in search of adventure. What they find is a magic castle straight out of a fairy tale, complete with an enchanted princess at the center of a maze. Or is it? The castle turns out to be just a country estate, and the princess is only the housekeeper's niece, playing at dressing up. But the magic ring she shows them proves -- to her surprise and horror -- to really be magic. Soon they are caught in an adventure where statues come alive, lost lovers are reunited, and wishes can be granted -- but always for a price. (Summary by Peter Eastman)
