Here, too, stands a ruined Venetian castle that's fun to explore, especially at sunset when the ghosts of the warriors are said to loom out of the shadows. Paleohora itself is a pleasant-looking resort sitting on a flat promontory.
The best walk is along the waterfront westwards, past the castle to a series of beachfront cafes and tavernas facing the Libyan Gulf. Sitting there, you can watch the small passenger boats come and go to other villages on the south coast of Crete.

Paleochora is a small town about 70km south of Chania, on the southwest coast of Crete. It is located under the immense White Mountains and enjoys very hot summers but with pleasant sea breezes. Probably because of its distance from the airport in Chania it is fairly quiet even in high season and has retained a wonderful old-fashioned feel. Many visitors seem to return year after year. It is a great place for families and/or young adventurers, since it provides many good locations for hiking and water sports, as well as places for sightseeing such as The Acritans Of Europe Museum next to the main church and the Venetian Fortress.

The Old (or, Venetian) Town is a romantic place to stroll around, with Medieval architecture, elegant mansions and a wonderful Venetian port, the most famous spot of the town. In close distance to Chania Town, there are many tourist beaches and hotels. However, you should not also miss excursions around the region to discover the fabulous spots of Chania: Balos, Elafonissi, Paleochora, Sfakia, Falassarna and Samaria Gorge. All beaches have crystal water and each one offers a unique experience, from the most tourist to the most secluded beach. The natural beauty of the area is breathtaking.
Crete, Greece's largest island, is known for its varied terrain, which ranges from fine-sand beaches at Elafonisi to the White Mountains. Mt. Ida, the tallest of the range, is home to the Ideon Cave, which was the birthplace of Zeus, according to Greek mythology. The capital, Heraklion, is home to the renowned Heraklion Archaeological Museum, housing Minoan artifacts, and Knossos, a Bronze Age settlement.
Greece is a country in southeastern Europe with thousands of islands throughout the Aegean and Ionian seas. Influential in ancient times, it's often called the cradle of Western civilization. Athens, its capital, retains landmarks including the 5th-century B.C. Acropolis citadel with the Parthenon temple. Greece is also known for its beaches, from the black sands of Santorini to the party resorts of Mykonos.

Yaliskari beach in Paleochora, Chania, Crete
Paleochora is the southernmost seaside town in the prefecture of Chania, located 76 km far from Chania. It has been built on the top of a small peninsula, below the ruins of the Venetian Castle, and it is washed by the waves on three sides.
Near Paleochora you can find several pebble and a few sandy beaches. The beach of Yaliskari to the east is one of the most beautiful and famous beaches.

It's very hard to find words to describe this beauty, the Greek Island Lefkada has produced over millions of years. We are talking about the beach, but not any kind of beach, probably top 3 beaches in whole Greece and in the top 10 of the whole world. To reach this beauty beach you need to go to the region of Ionian islands and visit the island Lefkada. The closest village is called Ag. Nikolaos Niras and the beach itself has the famous name of Porto Katsiki. The beach is located on a remote place in the middle of nowhere between high hills. The road to the beach is paved but it is very steep and on some places very narrow. Because the beach is very famous all around the world and very crowded in the summertime, you also have a lot of parking places available. From the parking place to the beach you need to take a 200 meter long path which is 30 meters in height difference from the beach itself. The beach, because of the steep pathway and no beach infrastructure is more suitable for adventurer type of visitors. The main surface on the beach are whites pebbles and some rocks. The water here has a special color, which is unique in the whole world, what makes this place even more attractive. The water entry is very nice and swimming starts immediately. On the beach itself you have zero beach infrastructure, but more is located around the parking place, where you will find also some fast food restaurants, shops and bars. Accommodation in this remote place is not available.

Welcome guests on board and tour at the boat premises.
Departure from the old port of Chania to the island of Gramvousa.
10.30AM – 14.30PM
We stay there for about four hours, during our stay there the guests can swim or climb up to the Venetian castle located at the top of the island. We eat and depart for our second destination, which is Balos known as the colorful lagoon of Chania, which is recently awarded as one of the 100 best beaches in the world in 9th place.
15.00PM – 17.30PM
We stay there for about 2:30 hours. We depart for our third destination, which is the island of Agioi Theodoroi (Thodorou), a recognized national park that has for its inhabitants the protected species called the Cretan Kri Kri.
18.30PM
We remain on the island of Agioi Theodoroi (Thodorou), enjoying the unique sunset and eating our fruit. When the sun falls, we leave for the old port of Chania.
19.00PM
Our journey is over from where we started the beautiful Venetian harbor of Chania.

Arriving in the colorful lagoon of Balos, which is recently awarded as one of the 100 best beaches in the world in the 9th place where we sit for an hour.

We will cruise near Palaiochora and Sougia beach, to our second destination the beach of Masxali, which is right next to the exit of Samaria Gorge (Agia Roumeli).
14.10PM -15.10PM
Our third destination is the unique pebbled beach of Agios Pavlos with the homonymous Byzantine chapel dating back to the 10th century. The scenery is fantastic and is an ideal destination for those who want deserted beaches.
15.10PM -17.20PM
Departure for our fourth destination, the unique and popular beach of Marmara, located at the exit of the Aradena gorge.
What characterizes the beach is the rocks that have the form of white marble layers, the turquoise crystal clear waters and the unique caves that can be explored with a mask. We eat and depart for the next destination.
17.20PM -18.20PM
Our fifth destination is Loutro, which is a beautiful little fishing village that took it’s name from the baths found there.
18.30PM -19.30PM
Glyka Nera is our sixth destination, one of the most beautiful beaches in southern Crete and Europe too, and is named after the freshwater springs that flow into the sea.
19.40PM – 20.40PM
Our last destination is Iliggas, an incredible beach with crystal clear waters and silver thick sand at the exit of the Kavi Gorge. It has two beaches, and on both beaches there are several caves that can be explored by our visitors.

Our journey ends at the beautiful graphical harbor of Sfakia.
A very rich meal is served on board with a selection of seafood or Cretan traditional dishes including wines, soft drinks, coffee and water. All meals are homemade and based on Cretan traditional cuisine.

Guests have the option of choosing 3 main dishes (Chicken, lamb or beef in a red sauce, lamb in a lemon sauce, traditional pilaf from local chicken, soutzoukakia with mashed potato, mousaka or pastitsio) salads and appetizers, seasonal fruits, ice cream and sweets.
Menu 2 Seafood:
Roasted fish, spaghetti with shrimps, octopus in a red sauce, boiled octopus, seafood salads and appetizers, seasonal fruits, ice cream and sweets.
The boat can support a meal of up to 10 people with full restaurant service where all guests are sitting and eating comfortably at the table.

Frangokastello is the location of a castle and scattered settlement on the south coast of Crete, Greece, about 12 km. east of Chora Sfakion and within the prefecture of Chania.Frangokastello has an extensive, sheltered and gently shelving sandy beach, which has provided the basis for a low key tourist industry in recent years. Tourist accommodation is scattered over the flat plain around the castle, but the area's relative remoteness has discouraged major development.The castle was built by the Venetians in 1371-74 as a garrison to impose order on the rebellious Sfakia region, to deter pirates, and to protect Venetian nobles and their properties. The Venetians named it the Castle of St. Nikitas after the nearby church. The locals, however, who never saw it in a positive light, contemptuously dubbed it Frangokastello, meaning the Castle of the Franks .Τηε αρεα οφ Frangokastello is a small seaside village with a few houses and quite a few rooms for rent and apartments for tourists.
