KENLEY Custom Car & Bike Show 2018
Many of the classic cars and bikes arriving at and leaving the Kenley Custom Car & Bike Show, 2018.
Back in 2014, four friends with their passionate love of cars (American muscle, Hot Rods, Custom, Classic, V-Dubs….. and not forgetting motorbikes) came together with an idea for a car & bike show. Being members of the RAF Association, the four friends also wanted to show their support for the Wings Appeal by creating awareness and raising the much needed funds for the RAF Association.
Local to Kenley, the four friends approached the RAFA Portcullis Club with their idea (situated in a corner of the famous, most intact WWII Kenley Airfield, the RAFA Portcullis Club is the meeting place for the Kenley & Caterham branch of RAFA. The club is run entirely by a small dedicated team of volunteers; serving not only servicemen and ex-servicemen, but also plays an active part in the local community).
So a car & bike show was “born”. 2018 sees us in our fifth year and we have now established ourselves as The Kenley Car & Bike Show .
Our events throughout the years may have had several name changes, but we are still keeping true to what means so much to us – Our love for cars & bikes, and our support for the RAF Association. Funds raised from this event enables us to support the RAF Association, via the Portcullis Club (Kenley) – a community we hold dear to our hearts.

The Mandolay Hotel
The handsome Mandolay Hotel regally resides at the top of Guildford’s pretty high street (great shopping!). It’s also just a short drive from the breathtaking Surrey Hills and only 35 minutes from London Waterloo Station. Relaxed, inviting and managed with personal care, it’s always buzzing with discerning diners and business types meeting. Everything has been carefully thought out from the on-trend interior design with a traditional sensibility to the wholesome, locally sourced (and 2 AA Rosette-awarded) British cuisine in the restaurant. Leisurely getaways here revolve around days filled with shopping, visits to the nearby countryside, country estates and gardens with cushiony comfort waiting your return in guest rooms that guarantee deep sleeps and a chance to recharge. Located in the main hotel or private coach house, each one is decorated in bold wallpapers alongside classic, top quality fabrics. The Mandolay is also home to a conference centre comprising eight purpose-built conference and meeting spaces; exclusive use of the entire hotel can be arranged. Don’t miss: afternoon tea on the restaurant’s heated outdoor terrace and a concert, dance show or comedy act at the nearby G Live entertainment, conference and hospitality venue a mere 140 metres from the hotel.

Edensor Village Night
In aid of National Hereditary Breast Cancer Helpline, Edensor Village presents a night to remember.
A666 Nightmare
Since Monday 6th June between 22:00 and 05:00 each weeknight
a section of the M60 has been closed to all west bound traffic
so all traffic has to leave at junction 16, the A666, and drive
through Clifton and Kearsley. The road is lined with residential
properties but Highways England, or whatever they call themselves
these days, don't seem to be aware, or perhaps not concerned
about the nightmare they are causing for residents who live along this route.
This diversion is set to continue beyond June 24th!
This interruption of sleep is affecting the lives of all the people who live along the A666 and is making people ill.
This video was filmed on one night while the diversion was
in place. It has been edited to show only trucks. All the 100's of cars
that passed in the night have been omitted.
Approximately 500 trucks can be seen roaring through Kearsley village during the time this video was filmed. What damage is this causing to the roads, to our homes and to our health. The Highways England have got a lot of questions to answer.

The Old Bull pub which inspired legendary BBC soap The Archers has been put up for sale.
The pub which inspired the legendary BBC soap The Archers has been put up for sale. The Old Bull, has been put on the market for a cool GBP89,000 after landlords Lyn Fishburn, 62, and Mike McCarthy, 60, decided to call time on their dream. Both Miss Fishburn and Mr McCarthy who have been partners for 12 years, are expecting to see huge interest in the quirky inn. The pub is situated in the Worcestershire village of Inkberrow, which is said to have been the model for Ambridge, the fictional setting for the BBC's long running soap, The Archers. The Old Bull inspired The Bull in Ambridge, frequented by Archers characters since the show first aired in 1950.
