Places to see in ( Yorkshire - UK ) Goathland Station
Goathland railway station is a station on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway and serves the village of Goathland in the North York Moors National Park, North Yorkshire, England. Goathland Station is famous for appearing as Aidensfield station in the television series Heartbeat, as Hogsmeade station the Hogwarts Express stop in the Harry Potter films, as Mannerton in the TV series All Creatures Great and Small, and in the end of the video of Holding Back the Years, a Simply Red song released in 1985. Holiday accommodation is available in the form of a camping coach.
This station (originally known as Goathland Mill) is on the deviation line opened by the North Eastern Railway in 1865 to avoid the cable-worked Beck Hole Incline, which was part of the original 1836 Whitby and Pickering Railway route. The original Goathland station was located at the head of the incline, where there are still some Y&NM cottages, together with a single W&P one.
The station buildings were to the design of the NER's architect Thomas Prosser and were very similar to those being built concurrently (by the same contractor, Thomas Nelson) on the Castleton to Grosmont section of the Esk Valley Line at Danby, Lealholm, Glaisdale and Egton. The collection of buildings is very little altered since they were built – the last recorded change (apart from NYMR restoration) was in 1908. Hornby modelled Goathland as part of the Skaledale Junction series, which included the footbridge, waiting room and Hogwarts Express. The station and its environs also featured in the film Keeping Mum.

GOATHLAND TRAIN STATION | Walk around Goathland Railway Station ????????????
A slow wander around Goathland Train Station in North Yorkshire, famous for it's appearance in the Harry Potter movies as Hogwarts Station.

The collection of buildings at Goathland Station is very little altered since they were built – the last recorded change (apart from NYMR restoration) was in 1908. A tributary of the River Esk flows close by the station
Deemed to be uneconomic, the line was closed to passenger traffic in 1965, and freight traffic a year later, as part of the Beeching cuts, before reopening in 1973 as part of the North Yorkshire Moors Railway.
Hornby modelled Goathland as part of the Skaledale Junction series, which included the footbridge, waiting room and Hogwarts Express.
The station and its environs also featured in the film Keeping Mum.
The charming village of Goathland is just a few minutes’ walk up the bank from the station, with a great range of shops and pubs. You could explore the national park; embark on a country walk along the Rail Trail back to Grosmont or to the Mallyan Spout Waterfall.
Goathland Station has its very own shop, and has a tea room which is in a converted 1922 style goods shed.

#ad This is a promotional video.
It's Maya's birthday and she is getting tons of presents from a fake Toys R Us toy store. Unfortunately, they are all broken or missing parts or empty and she's bummed! What a bad birthday! This is another silly kids video featuring the pretend toy store. Addy and Avery are coming over later to save the day and make Maya's birthday super special.

DarntonB3 Graves Sports & Leisure Centre
Associate architect Tim Lambert from DarntonB3 Architecture talks to us about working closely on the Graves Sports & Leisure Centre Project.
DarntonB3 Architecture was successful in a competitive tendering process and appointed lead consultant in the design of a new leisure centre to be built alongside the existing Graves Tennis Centre. The project is unique in that it also contains the NCSEM (National Centre for Sports and Exercise Medicine) headquarters which is fully integrated within the leisure facilities. The client is Sheffield City Council with the NCSEM as a sub-client.
Other stakeholders included Sport England, the Lawn Tennis Association and British Gymnastics. DarntonB3 provided full Architectural services to Sheffield City Council on a Two Stage Design & Build contract. DarntonB3 was then novated to BAM Construction Ltd for completion of RIBA Stages 5-7.
The circa £14million project comprises the following facilities:
6 lane 25m community swimming
Learner pool with associated changing village and group change
150 station fitness suite
3 large flexible studios
Dance studio
1000sqm gymnastics hall which includes for elite level trampolining
2 court extension to the existing tennis centre to create 8 indoor courts in total
The NCSEM includes consultation rooms, ice/wax treatment, physiology and biometrics lab and an x-ray facility along with associated utility spaces
The concept for this design was to provide maximum transparency with very clear and ordered circulation whilst keeping the wet and dry facilities fully integrated with the NCSEM spaces and the existing tennis centre. Materiality was important in the design and contrasting materials were specified to provide differences in texture and finish within a natural colour palette. The double height circulation splits the three main elements of the new build section and stretches out of the building to mark a striking entrance.
The other key features are the large double height circulation hub that provides views and access to all facilities removing the need for long corridors and providing users with legible layout of facilities. The circulation hub also contains a café servery, reception space, informal pool viewing and the primary waiting area for the NCSEM.
The result was an efficient use of space from circulation to pool hall. Through our extensive knowledge of swimming pool design we created a very efficient pool hall and changing village layout that meets Sport England guidance. We also retained large open circulation spaces that could be used for various activities such as informal meetings, waiting, café, pool viewing and NCSEM information spaces.
Including the National Centre for Sports and Exercise Medicine brought the challenge of how to integrate what in essence was a medical facility within the leisure centre. This was overcome through sharing some of the key spaces such as the reception, studio space and the fitness suite and swimming pool. We managed to integrate the NCSEM functionally and spatially through locating the facility on the ground floor in a prominent front of house location without compromising any of the other ‘shop window’ facilities.

Irresponsible Ownership, Propaganda & Political BullShit*
This Country Needs Worming . . . .*
1 Vicious Dog & 1 Red Head Witch Who Submitted a False ID-
Leaving Us With a £200 Vet Bill.*
IDIOT Women NO1 Was Extremely Intoxicated in more ways than one & She Lost control of her Staffordshire Bull Terrier.(SBT)
The Security of the Dogs Harness was Compromised & was not wearing a Dog Muzzle.
20 Minutes after the First Attack(on my dog/Springer)
A Second one took place with another (SBT) Belonging to another Irresponsible Owner.
Idiot Elderly Woman Had Parked Car Opened Boot & let her Dogs Run Free from the Car & consequently Her (SBT) Headed strait towards iDiot Women No1.
At this Point I would Like to Make Very Clear I Have Nothing Against The (SBT) Breed of Dog.
But just Like All Dogs in general,
They are Pack Orientated & Descend from Wolves.
Therefore ALL Dogs by Nature will Always carry the Stigma of 'Questionable Temperament'.
Even More so when it comes to the Owners Ignorance wether Male or Female, young or Old.
It is a Double Edge Sword But Responsible Owners need protecting as do the Public.
But So do Dogs, They Need Protecting from Irresponsible Owners & Complete Fkn Idiots (WNo1)
For the Record:
This Incident has been Reported to the Police & the Local Borough Council.
The Police were Very Helpful Indeed, in the Control Room & At the Same time Absolutely Fking Useless. No Interest In Identifying Idiot Woman No.1 And
We Have Spoke with the Borough Councils Dog Warden & The Incident is Under investigation.
But we are Still waiting for the women to come forward & be correctly Identified & Pay The Outstanding Vet Bill.
NB.
in the Mean Time, Hopefully, Nobody Else's Dog will be Injured or Small child, Baby, Teenager ETC
I am Sure theres a good reason for Classifying 1 Breed from Another & the Only way the Police will become involved believe it or not is if the Dog Attack comes from an American Pitt Bull or Similar Breed/Classification
Clearly this Subject is a mine field But the Public & Other Dogs are at Risk Not Only Because the (SBT) Breed of Dog is in Question But Surely Folks its the Irresponsible Ownership & Owners Handling of a potentially Dangerous Dog That Should Be Questioned & then Banged to Rights Before The Front Page Gets Splattered with more Media Frenzy.
Understanding the Nature of the Beast within any & All Creatures is Only Half the Battle of Breaking the Cycle of Ignorance & Misinformation.
The other Half is Putting sound Knowledge into good safe practice & Educating people.
