Meet Millie...and Millie...and Millie. Scientist and YouTuber, Millie, is busy studying for her Phd in quantum physics, making videos of her oddball inventions and hanging out with her best friend Anna. The increasingly ambitious and self-obsessed Millie is sucked into the fickle world of internet celebrity, replacing Anna with her millions of fans. HUG: a stunningly immersive musical encounter 7-11 October 2013 @ The Wardrobe Theatre
HUG (composed and directed by Verity Standen) is a stunning interactive sound performance where 30 audience members are led into a pitch-black space and individually hugged by one of 30 singers.
The audience stands unable to gauge their surroundings, experiencing only through the sound, breath and vibrations of the body as the 30 voices deliver the songs. The pieces of music are heard from the inside out, kinaesthetically driven to push and pull at the listeners' comfort boundaries and aural sensitivities. HUG is an immersive encounter that acts as a passing moment of intimacy and reflection.
7-11 October @ The Wardrobe Theatre, Bristol
