In this video we are going to the Shipshewana Auction and Flea Market in Indiana, USA.
There are many Amish that live in the area, so the market has a lot of local crafts and foods. We ended up enjoying Ben's Pretzels which were really good!

Ripen Your Tomatoes At Warp Speed With a Greenhouse Without A Roof
In this video I showcase a greenhouse that was pioneered by the folks at northernhomestead.com, a greenhouse without a roof? I never would have thought that this greenhouse would improve the productivity of tomatoes but Anna and Jacob have shown that something as simple and inexpensive roofless greenhouse.

3S's Restaurant,Jazz Singer Amy Moodie
The Wine Ladies
Fabulous Finds for Foodies, Wine and more!
Our latest discovery, 3S's Restaurant of Oakville, Ontario.
The evening began early, not yet 5:00pm on the already bustling streets of downtown Oakville with storekeepers, vendors, and musicians feverishly preparing for the 19th Annual Jazz Festival. Oakville is a small, stylish town with a blend of unique shops including art galleries, boutiques, fabulous restaurants, cafes, decadent pastry shops and chocolatiers...
We are here this evening with our camera crew to capture the magic of our latest Fabulous Finds for Foodies the 3 S's Restaurant, Seafood, Steak and Song. Here to share with everyone why 3 S's is our top pick for not only incredible cuisine and fine wines, with a passion for supporting local in both, but also extreme talent in the way of song, from opera, to jazz and musical comedy.
The restaurant crew is working at a frenetic pace to prepare for what will be an incredible evening. Inside the tables are set to perfection, upon crisp white linen tablecloths. Stunning art pieces, including works from the private collection of the proprietor hailing from Fredericton, NB, grace the walls as well as beautiful, engaging and thoughtful pieces courtesy of local artists. 3 S's passion is to pleasure all the senses, from the food, to the wine, the art on the walls and the incredible voices of the servers. Yes, the servers, many Broadway bound, others having performed in operas in multiple major cities throughout Europe, still others with CD's from jazz to pop and rock. Throughout the evening an incredible cast of servers serenade the guests with a variety of song allowing one to enjoy a new and distinctive dining experience, the only one of its kind in Canada.
Laura Macdonald-Rumi, one of the General Managers, with a Fine Arts Degree is in her element here, living her passion for all that is fine; at the helm Laura seamlessly orchestrates 3 S's into providing a symphony of the perfect evening for the patrons. We, along with our entourage this evening, family members from Montreal enjoy a multitude of dishes paired exquisitely with a range of wines.
A trio of Seared Diver Scallops served with a confit of celeriac and fennel in a chive Beurre Blanc is one of our starters with a mouth watering appetizer of homemade tortellini stuffed with smoked pulled chicken, goat cheese and butter braised leeks to follow.
One of the focuses of 3 S's is to showcase the bounty and beauty of local fare. Two Niagara wines shine here, with a Vineland Estates Pinot Grigio, and a Cave Springs Gewurztraminer.
Dover Sole and a Steak Frites are two mouth watering main courses we enjoy; although polar opposites in weight and texture, a single Domaine rose, St Eugenie from the southern region of Corbieres, France serves us well as it is a very hot night, and the crispness, fullness and good structure of the rose hits all the high notes.
Inside a hush ensues, as a petite songstress approaches the centre of the restaurant, microphone in hand. Within seconds, a passionate and romantic song captures the patrons, with an enchanting voice, a very slight enchanting French accent; she beckons silence, she is Jasmine Spence.
Conversation at the bar with new acquaintances enjoying the food, wine and music, everyone is clearly having a wonderful time.
Outdoors the patio is packed, providing a perfect audience for a duet to come, two opera singers, in love, just returning from Italy singing The Prayer (well known for performance with Andrea Bocelli and Celine Dion) Silence is golden, bodies gather outside the patio fence, and take in the sounds of Clarence Fraser and Clodagh Earls.
The main street is alive with the sounds of music and of people. Our bellies are content, our wine desires totally satisfied, this is 3 S's Seafood, Steak and Song, in the beautiful town of Oakville, Ontario.
