One of the best and most unique hikes in Whistler.
60 years ago this train derailed into the forest, and here it has lied ever since.

Hiking in Whistler - Train Wreck Trail
Whistler Train Wreck Trail is about a 1.5-hour drive from Vancouver. The 2km round trip hike will take you to the site of a train derailment from the 1950s where you’ll be able to see a number of railway boxcars scattered among towering cedar and fir trees beside the Cheakamus River.

Train Wreck trail
A dog friendly, easy and very unique hike just outside of Whistler, BC. Boxcars from a train derailment in 1956 have tossed into the trees and covered in graffiti. Parking for the trail is located at the Interpretive Forest parking off Cheakamus Lake Road on the east side of Highway 99 – turn left at the Function Junction lights when coming from the Village and the parking is the first left before the bus shelter.

Whistler Train Wreck
Today I went on an adventure! It was awesome!
The Whistler train wreck is a result of a train derailing back in the 50's. It was too expensive for them to clean it up, so they left the cars where they were. Now its home to a bunch of bike trails and jumps, and 7 box cars that are covered in amazing graffiti.

Train Wreck Trail - Whistler BC
I went hiking with my family this summer. This is day 3 of the 7 day trip, I'll be making a video for everyday spent in Whistler BC, I hope you enjoy!
The Train Wreck Trail is an amazing 2 km hike that leads to the beautiful spray painted train wagons that were put there after a huge crash. It's a very easy hike with a very peaceful atmosphere, with loads of info panels to explain the trees and wildlife. Great for the whole family.
Whistler Train Wreck
Ripping around one of Whistler's most iconic spots. A train derailed here back in 1956. The cars were dragged off the tracks and rolled into the forest. They have now become a favoured spot for local graffiti artists.

Whistler Train Wreck
A visit to the Whistler Train Wreck... We parked on Janes Lake road and its just a 30 second walk to the beginning of the track. You'll arrive at a swing bridge in about 15 minutes, and the trains are just on the other side of the river.

KANADA - Whistler - Train wreck
The short hiking trail follows the Sea To Sky Trail and crosses a suspension bridge, offering scenic views of the Cheakakmus River rushing below before arriving at the colourfully painted box cars, which have sat in the forest since 1956.
