Hunting in Canada: Family Hunt for Mountain Goat
Hunting in Canada is always awesome, but a family hunt for mountain goat is both awesome and ridiculous.
See the problem is the mountain goats are a the top of the mountains. We're not a afraid of a little hiking, the real challenge is weather. If its socked in with rain or snow we can't really see to navigate or find the animals. Couple this with a rather large hunting party of 7 and it could be tricky to close the distance.
But whatever, the chance to go on a family hunt in the some of the most beautiful mountains in the world could never be a bad idea.

Cranbrook castle fort with wild camper

We park the car up and leave our kit in the car and head down for Fingle Bridge and the pub for a quick pint. We then head back up to the car to collect kit and have a very short walk to camp which is at Cranbrook castle fort.

Air Georgian Beechcraft 1900D review
Before I booked this flight I had never heard of the Beechcraft 1900D. I saw it show up in Google Flights and I thought it'd be an interesting aircraft. It is an Air Canada branded flight that is operated by Air Georgian. That means that for check in I had to go to the Air Canada counter and if you have Start Alliance Gold status or a membership with the Maple Leaf Club, you get access to the Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge.
The Canadian Rockies International airport of Cranbrook lies right in the Rocky Mountains just past the border in British Columbia. The airport is popular for people playing golf in summer or people who like snow sports in winter. Of course, being quite remote, it is also a great way for people living in the area to go to Calgary or Vancouver.
Unfortunately, Air Canada has announced they will discontinue the route between Calgary and Cranbrook as of end of April 2019 and I'm really happy that I got to experience this cool flight!

As we head east watch coal and manifest trains. We continue the eastward treck looking at operations the crowsnest sub where we see SD90mac's and UP power adding variety, Spend time watching trains pass the Frank slide before continuing out of the mountains.
