TRAVEL VLOG | A Month in La Serena, Chile: First Weekend
This was my first weekend in La Serena, a small beach town on the coast of Chile. I will be spending the month of February volunteering at Hogar Redes orphanage in Coquimbo, Chile, through an organization called A Broader View. I was able to graduate high school early, as I repeated junior year, so I had all my credits done going into my senior year. I graduated from St. Luke's School, and am now taking a gap semester until I head to the University of Chicago, where I will play football in the fall. My parents flew down with me to help get me adjusted, and stayed the first three days with me. This is my story.

TRAVEL VLOG | A Month In La Serena, Chile: Weekend 2
This was my second weekend spent in La Serena, a small beach town on the coast of Chile. I am spending the month of February volunteering at Hogar Redes orphanage in Coquimbo, Chile, through an organization called A Broader View. I was able to graduate high school early, as I repeated junior year, so I had all my credits done going into my senior year. I spent this weekend visiting the beautiful beaches of Tongoy, an hour away from La Serena, and the famous Elqui Valley, two hours from La Serena. This is my story.

One interesting aspect of this video is a visit to a restaurant that uses only solar heating to cook the meals. We see the solar cooking equipment and the cooking process. I added Chilean music in the background to give this video movie what it needed to show the beauty of La Serena and the surrounding areas.

Esta familia, que es parte de las más de 3.800 de la región beneficiada con Gratuidad en la Educación Superior, compartió su alegría con el Intendente Claudio Ibañez, el Seremi de Educación Pedro Esparza y la Jefa del Departamento Provincial de Elqui, Ana Vega.
