This is a list of Parkruns in the United Kingdom. Parkrun is the name given to the collection of 5K runs that take place every Saturday morning in 542 different locations throughout the country, including every region of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Events take place in a range of general locations including city parks, country parks, national parks, stately homes, castles, forests, rivers, lakes, reservoirs, beaches, promenades, racecourses and nature reserves. The runs are all 5 km in length but have different degrees of difficulty, with hilly runs like at Lyme Park harder to complete than those that are flat like the one at Kingsbury Water Park. The running surface varies with many city park Parkruns being run on tarmac footpaths, closed roads, grass or a mixture of all three, while forest and country park Parkruns are more likely to be on trails. The weather affects the difficulty of the course with trail runs more liable to be affected by mud or leaves than runs on tarmac paths. Since Parkrun began 1,593,510 runners have run a combined distance of 101,398,790 km. The highest ever attendance is 1705 at Bushy Parkrun with an average attendance across all Parkruns of 194.

Welcome to Raptor's Garage.

Joined by Chris 'FMA' Marper, a novice to the world of 4x4 building, they'll take you through the trials and tribulations of building, modifying and converting vehicles for rugged terrains.

In this episode, they visit Silverdale Off-Road Pay and Play Site.

Managed and run by exploreoffroad.co.uk , this is one of the most extreme off-road tracks in the UK to test your 4x4

Comprising woodland areas, steep hills, water, and lots of mud, this site is not recommended for shiny new vehicles and is certainly not for the faint hearted.

Roaming around the challenging landscape costs just £25 for two occupants in one vehicle, which must be road taxed, while additional passengers are charged at £5 each.

Hill Of Oaks Windermere

The Joslyn Run

In 1903, George and Sarah Joslyn, completed one of Nebraska’s greatest homes—a 35-room Scottish Baronial mansion atop a hill on Omaha’s outskirts.

The four-story house was completed at a cost of $250,000—about $6 million in 21st century dollars. The pace of construction—11 months—was amazing, given the rich use of carved wood, stained glass, chiseled stone, mosaic tiles, and wrought iron.

The Castle and the carriage house were built of Kansas silverdale limestone.

The Castle includes a reception hall, music room, ballroom, a library and gold drawing room. The basement at one time housed a bowling alley. With the addition of a music room in 1906, the house totaled 19,360 square feet. The interior of the home’s conservatory was designed by landscape architect Jens Jensen in 1913.

George Joslyn died in 1916, in his sixties. Sarah lived on the 5.5-acre estate until her death in 1940 at age 88. From 1944 to 1989, the home served as the headquarters of the Omaha Public Schools. To preserve the integrity of this architectural treasure, the State of Nebraska took title 20 years ago, and the Joslyn Castle Trust has managed it. In 2010, the Trust purchased the Castle and grounds from the state.

The castle is an Omaha Landmark Historic Structure and on the National Register of Historic Places for national significance. The grounds are part of the Nebraska Statewide Arboretum.
