Pimlico State High School PAC Building Walk Around
Pimlico State High School (PSHS) has proven to be a Queensland centre of excellence for the performing arts. To continue the growth of this potential and its centre of excellence in regional Queensland, PSHS needs to expand the facilities in which it operates. The existing Performing Arts Centre (PAC) constructed approximately 20yrs ago does not now have the capacity or facilities to provide for the numbers of instrumental music, choir, dance and drama students of today’s PSHS.
Whilst the new PAC proposed will primarily support the PSHS’s arts programs, having a seating capacity of 450 persons the PAC will provide a unique mid-range capacity facility for North Queensland that is far more suitable and accessible for many of Townsville’s community groups and events, such as for the Barrier Reef Orchestra, Australian Festival of Chamber Music, Townsville Community Music Centre, Australian Strings Association, Australian Concerto & Voice Competition, Townsville Eisteddfod, Australian Music Examination Board, Dance North, Friends of the Theatre and a number of local primary schools. The existing PAC will complement and continue to form an integral facility for the education of arts at PSHS.
Music performed by Pimlico Chamber Strings - 2010 Fanfare Winners.
Note: Concept only, final building location yet to be confirmed.

QMF 2013 - T150 'A Week in the West' & Tambo:Heart of an Open Country
Tambo: Heart of an Open Country is the result of hours of generous story sharing between Tambo residents, both past and present, Queensland Music Festival and writers Michael and Margery Forde.
Stories of their lives, of a town, of a past and a future are beautifully reflected in this world premiere musical theatre production, which brings to life the characters, the adventures, the hardships and most of all the heart of a remarkable western Queensland town.
Directed by Michael Forde with a band led by Music Director, Shenzo, the musical heartbeat of Tambo: Heart of an Open Country is provided by country music legend, Graeme Connors. His deep, rich body of work is the perfect vehicle to carry the narrative of the past 150 years of Tambo. But the real star of the show is the community itself.
Performing alongside professional musicians and actors over two magnificent nights, the people of Tambo, adults and school children alike, came together with one heartfelt commonality -- to honour their town.
The Tambo: Heart of an Open Country celebration is part of T-150 A Week in the West.

This project has received financial assistance from the Australian Government through the Australia Council, the Australian Government arts funding and advisory body, through its Community Partnerships Section and the Regional Arts Fund, which gives all Australians, wherever they live, better access to opportunities to practise and experience the arts.

Jade Hurley - The Naked Tour
It’s no wonder, as this country-rock and show-biz experience includes classics such as “Rockin’ All Over The World”, “Old Time Rock ‘N’ Roll”, Johnny Preston’s “Running Bear”, “Buddy Holly’s “Oh Boy” and “Peggy Sue”, Little Richard’s “Lucille”, Jerry Lee Lewis’s “Great Ball of Fire”, Del Shannon’s “Runaway”, Chuck Berry’s “Sweet Little Sixteen” and more.
Ep. 14 Troopy in the Australian Desert - Everywhere Together
We continue our journey to inlands, the great outback of Australia. Stopping at Charters Towers, previously known as The World, and follow the Australian Dinosaur Trail through Hughenden, Richmond and Winton to the most remote national park of Queensland: Diamantina National Park. Lots of offroad tracks and bird watching there, and of course, some unwon battles with the flies.
