Barbering-shaving: How to Shave for State Board Test: Demo
Barbering Theory requirement video here:
Barbering Shaving for state board video here:
Do not take a doll head with markings on the face to state board. You should know the 14 sections of the beard that need shaving. The doll head in this demo has markings on the beard ONLY for demonstration purposes and for the students who watch the video to understand what zones are zone 1, zone 2, etc…
Procedure:
First, set up the station and drape the doll head. The doll head might be placed in a shoebox, not on tripod, depending on the state where you take your exam: check the state board of barbering website for more details of your state’s requirements for the shaving exam. This one works for NIC practical tests. NIC is adopted in many states of the United States, including California.
Next: sanitize hands, apply shaving cream to soften the pretend hair on the face, remove it with towel, and reapply the shaving ream; sanitize the hands and start shaving.
Shave with soft strokes following the freehand, backhand, and reverse procedures: always double check for your state’s requirements for extra detail for shaving. Use a clean razor. Use a towel to remove excess shaving cream. Tone the face to close the skin pores. Place the razor in the Implements to be Sanitized container. Undrape, clean up, and sanitize hands. This educational video is for barbers, cosmetologists, beauty school students, barbering class students, and barbering cross over students and salon professionals. 2016-06-16 - Canadian Adventure, Ch 11 - NY & PA 3.0 (Soundtrack, KISS)
Bobby & Mike take off on a Canadian Adventure, eh? Two hosers who spend months prepping and waiting, and truly had an adventure.
CHAPTER 11 puts the team back in the US for good. After a 5th and final border crossing. Bobby and Mike move south across new York's southern tier and into Pennsylvania. From there, they crossed the entire length, top to bottom, into West Virginia. West Virginia was ugly, as they were pinned down by rain for a few hours in PA and then forced to bypass the mountains due to fog. They arrived at nearly midnight. Again. Ugly.

The Option House Restaurant - Downtown Bradford Pa
The newly restored and renovated Option House Restaurant and Lounge in Downtown Bradford PA is open for business under the new ownership of Bradford native Sam Sylvester. One of Bradford Pas historic landmarks, the establishments history dates back to the early 1900s when oil speculators negotiated oil option contracts there.
The new Option House Restaurant features two restaurants for fine dining. The first floor Trading Room Lounge has a very rustic, European, pub-like atmosphere. A 62-ft long Flemish-style oak bar built by the Brunswick Co was installed in 1935 with six carved divisions representing chateau entrances lighted with old English lanterns. The original dumb waiter dubbed Oscar has been completely restored and functions carrying drinks between the first and second floor bars.
In 1937 the upstairs restaurant and nightclub, Peacock Alley, fashioned after the famous restaurant at the Waldorf-Astoria in New York city was opened. A giant peacock was painted on the rear wall of the room , and the seven sections (parlors) of the room were painted in blending colors to match the peacock. That theme has been carried through todays restaurant, now know as Peacock Parlors which serves as a formal room for individual diners and for banquets and special events. Its elegance is unsurpassed in the region.
The Option House features a tapas hors doeuvres menu with selections which may be ordered as a complete dinner or as an appetizer. In addition, a full dinner menu is offered. Some menu items change weekly. An extensive wine list of selected wines by the glass or by the bottle and the area's finest companions of brandies, cognacs, and armagnacs is featured.

Mr. P. Explores... The Abandoned Pennsylvania Turnpike (Breezewood, PA)
Thirteen crumbling miles, two long tunnels, several very old bridges, a lost travel plaza, and a labyrinth of dank, dripping and dark maintenance tunnels: In this extended-length episode of Mr. P. Explores, we head to the central Pennsylvanian interchange town of Breezewood to investigate part of the oldest interstate highway in the United States, the Pennsylvania Turnpike. In the 1960's, large stretches of the original turnpike were rerouted to avoid the too-small-for-growing-traffic tunnels along its path, and the old route was left to nature, which makes it a perfect spot to explore! We'll go into those same tunnels, walk their length, climb up into the damp maze of walkways, stairwells, air exchangers and maintenance access tunnels, and you get to come along for the adventure! So, kick back, press play and enjoy the trip along the abandoned Pennsylvania Turnpike!

Black Bears in Cameron County Late Summer
Late Summer Bears captured on my trail camera. There are many bears roaming the woods of Cameron County near Emporium Pennsylvania. Years ago there were hardly any. (I have seen a larger mother bear with 3 cubs a month ago. I have that on another video. I know of 5 cubs born just this year that have been on my propery.) Please check out my other videos for more wildlife.
Many bears even roam the streets of down town Emporium Pennsylvania in the late and early morning hours! They have been known to get in to the trash if given the chance.
From my experience, bears have great noses and will leave you alone if you leave them alone. Most of my personal bear encounters this year resulted in the bears going in the opposite direction. Even with the cubs.
The music at the end is a few friends of mine and I playing around in his basement studio one day a few years back. Enjoy.
