How to Install Fixed Mount Photocontrols / Photocells
Installing fixed-mount photocontrols helps your facility enhance security and save energy. This video shows you how to install flush mount and stem and swivel photocontrols into an LED wall pack and LED light fixture.
When you buy Intermatic flush, stem, or stem & swivel mount photocontrols, everything you need is in the box. All of the photocontrols come with lens stickers. The stem and swivel and stem mount models also come with a metal bracket, known as a glider or shutter. And the flush mount models come with a plastic dome, also referred to as a shield or shade.
For installation: 1. Disconnect power before installing.
2. DO NOT MOUNT WITH THE WIRES FACING UP.
3. Connect the wires. - L1 or line in to the black - L2 or neutral is white - Red to the load - For safety, don’t forget to connect the green wires or bare wires for grounding
4. Be aware that reversing the red and black connections will cause photocontrol “chattering” or ON/OFF cycling.
5. On a Stem and Swivel Photocontrol, orient the lens away from artificial light sources that may cause the load to turn off at night.
6. Put the fixture back together and reconnect the power.
