Shuzen-ji, Izu 伊豆 修善寺
Shuzenji town has been a mountain spa resort since 1200 years ago, when a famous Buddhist monk, Kukai, discovered a hot spring source in the middle of the Izu Peninsula. It’s a small town but you will enjoy traditional Japanese atmosphere in many ways.
My channel, Japan Silhouette, features beautiful scenery, traditional culture, Origami arrangement, and the warm heart of the Japanese people.
I also visit other countries and record my impression about them, perhaps from a Japanese perspective.

● Japanese enjoying yuzu bathing in hot springs
Tourists in Shizuoka Prefecture are getting a chance to soak in an outdoor hot spring bath that has been filled with yuzu citrus fruit.
An onsen in Kawazu Town on the Izu Peninsula began yuzu hot spring services on Saturday, one day before the winter solstice.
Custom has it that people in Japan bathe with the fruit on the midwinter day. They believe the practice helps keep them from catching colds during the winter.
Staff put 3 buckets of locally-grown yuzu into a bath.
The 8 kilograms of fruit soon began releasing a citrus fragrance.
Women visitors said they hope their complexion will become smoother as the fruit is believed to contain an ingredient that helps rejuvenate the skin.
The facility will provide the service until Monday.
Meanwhile, a zoo in Tochigi Prefecture, north of Tokyo, is preparing to give its capybaras a yuzu bath.
The South American rodents will be served their favorite food, pumpkins and apples, which will be added to the water along with the yuzu.

伊豆半島東岸の温泉地を探索しました
1、大川温泉 磯の湯
以外にも良いお湯でびっくりしましたね、ただ大川温泉に何件かある温泉旅館にこのお湯が引かれているかというと違うそうですね、ここのお湯だと東岸でNo.1と言っても良いですけどね、
2、熱川温泉
高磯の湯という海沿いにあるお風呂が有名ですが、残念ながらお休みでした、近くにある足湯パ―クと道灌の湯を見てきましたが、お湯は透明ながら高温です、しかし熱川温泉も有名な所ですが残念な事に廃墟が多い、街も息をしてないみたいでした、頑張れ！
3、峰温泉
峰温泉噴湯公園に行きました、ここのお湯は元気いっぱい噴出するので、資源保護のためにバブルを閉じていて定期的に噴出されて温泉旅館等で利用しているそうです、

#Onsens (termal baths) are one of the quintessential things you can do in Japan. The Japanese have elevated the art of communal bathing in hot (spring) waters to an art form. Alas, due to the fact that I have large tattoos that can't be covered up, I can't go to an onsen. Yes, I hate it and find this one of the most absurd rules in Japan but have learned to deal with it. However, in onsen towns on the mountains it's quite usual to have big onsens make free footbaths available at the entrance to their facilities, so that's what we did!
