Japanese Onsen Bath Experience: Hot Spring Paradise ★ ONLY in JAPAN
Grab your towel because it's time for an epic Japanese onsen bath adventure! We will explore 13 Onsen Towns, hopping from one to another as a bath tourist around Fukushima. Naked outside in the snow? It's part of the fun!
Japanese Onsen are natural hot springs and around them are amazing places where you can bathe in many different kinds of waters. Bath tourism to onsen towns has always been popular with Japanese but as more people come to Japan for a visit, more are visiting the onsen and there are hundreds of hot spring towns.
Onsen baths are loaded with minerals that are good for the body, making your skin silky soft. Most of the water in these areas seeps from the ground, the hot water being the reason why many towns exist at that particular spot, their history rooting in its water.
It's the one do not miss recommendations I have for any trip to Japan. Every onsen is different so in this episode, I visit 13 different onsen towns in Fukushima prefecture, most with history going back centuries.

Kinosaki Onsen - My Favorite Place in Japan
Happy Monday. It's back to ME Mondays.
Where do I start, this is one of the lesser known places in Japan I can tell and even many Japanese people I have spoken to haven't visited this town yet. It is so nice! It's only of those secret places you stumble upon and it just exceeds your expectations.
Thanks for watching.

Japan Walk - Kusatsu Hot Spring / Kusatsu Onsen (草津温泉) - 4K
In this video we’ll show you Kusatsu Hot Spring / Kusatsu Onsen (草津温泉) , Gunma.
Kusatsu Onsen (草津温泉) is one of Japan's most famous hot spring resorts and is blessed with large volumes of high quality hot spring water said to cure every illness but lovesickness.
Well known as a hot spring resort for many centuries, Kusatsu's fame was further boasted by German doctor Erwin von Baelz, who served at the imperial court in the late 1800s and recommended Kusatsu for its water's health benefits.
Kusatsu is situated at an altitude of 1200 meters above sea level in the mountains of Gunma Prefecture, and offers skiing in winter and hiking during the rest of the year to be enjoyed in combination with hot spring bathing. Kusatsu is also located along Japan's Romantic Road.

Capybaras soaking in an onsen (Japanese hot springs)
And now, your moment of zen: Capybaras soaking in a hot springs in Saitama, Japan. These Capybaras live in a zoo in the town.

Jinshan uncovers new rare hot spring during hot spring improvement project
The hot spring town of Jinshan on Taiwan''s north coast has struck gold during a project to improve its hot spring infrastructure. It discovered a new spring with a rare combination of minerals that are said to have good health benefits. The only downside may be the spring water''s unattractive color, which initially turned off visitors. Turn on the faucet and out comes cloudy yellow hot spring water that looks like liquid mud. People were stunned when they saw that Jinshan’s hot spring improvement project had turned the water an unappealing color, and they had no interest in jumping in. It was only when an expert was called in that Jinshan learned it had stumbled onto a quite rare acid-sulfate-chloride hot spring. Chen Jung-wei Taiwan Hot Spring Research Center The first factor is the iron ions in the water oxidizing and the second factor is that the water contains some sulfur. Sulfur and iron combine to create what’s called iron sulfide, which has a yellowish brown color.Japan’s Arima Onsen outside of Kobe also features acid-sulfate-chloride waters and is known locally as Gold Spring. The only other place in Taiwan with a similar hot spring is the Ruisui area in Hualien. The waters are rich in iron and other minerals.Chen Kuo-chinJinshan District ChiefThe hot spring research center has confirmed that this is a very good hot spring with a high concentration of iron. It’s very beneficial to people’s health. The Jinshan area was previously known to have ocean, sulfuric, carbonic acid and iron hot springs, and now it can add a new treasure to that list.

Ryokan Japanese Inn with Kaiseki Dinner Experience
Location of this video:
Yorozuya Annex Yurakuan
381-0401 Nagano, Yamanouchi, Yudanakaonsen, Japan, Yamanouchi, JP
In this trip to Japan we’ve decided to try and experience the Ryokan or Traditional Japanese Inn. Our accommodation includes Breakfast and Dinner and a Public Onsen (hot spring) bath (the area is walking distance from the Inn) but we opt to change that to a Private Onsen inside the Hotel as Onsen requires that you bath fully naked and also because the weather outside is freezing cold that time that we were there. The service is great and very welcoming and the Inn also have a shuttle service that would pass by tourist spot like Snow Monkey, so try and ask them about that on your stay.
We also had Kaiseki or the Traditional Japanese Cuisine/ Dinner and it’s another amazing experience that we’re glad we have tried. It is a course meal with presentation and skills of a Chef Japanese Style and using selective ingredients. It is quite pricey for the whole accommodation and meals but it’s one that you should put in your bucket list. It is very relaxing and enjoying.

Lakeside Ryokan in NIKKO, JAPAN // JP17 ep.4
Hey guys! Welcome to another vlog from Japan. This time we're heading up to Nikko in Tochigi prefecture. 2 hours north-west of Tokyo and surrounded by mountains, Nikko is an up and coming city for Japanese tourism that's seen significant development since I was last there in 2009! We visited the beautiful Lake Chu-zenji, or Chu-zenji-ko in Japanese, and spent the night at a beautiful ryokan (traditional style hotel) with an onsen (hot spring)! Close to the lake is the magnificent Kegon Falls, but there's other onsen towns in the Nikko area as well as many other attractions like the beautiful shrines and temples of Toushogu and Rinnouji, which has a huge golden Buddha statue, dating back to the BC years(!) plus the Shinkyo (God Bridge). There's also the Tobu company's World Square, a park containing minature sculptures of Japan and the world's most famous landmarks, and nearby is also Edo Wonderland, a theme park which aims to re-create a Japanese village from the Edo Period with various performances and activities like a Geisha theatre, archery, samurai battles, traditional street food and shuriken (ninja star) throwing!
Nikko is well worth a visit, and the secret is getting out! The Nikko All Area Pass is good for 4 consecutive days. It will get you there and back from Tokyo's Tobu Asakusa station as well as unlimited rides all around Nikko on the Tobu buses, plus discounted entry into some attractions! - Don't forget to budget an extra few thousand yen per person to get those seats on the Limited Express trains and entry into the shrines, temples and anywhere else you might want to visit!

Grand Japanese Hotel: One Night in Nishimuraya Honkan - A Kinosaki Onsen
I stayed in a traditional japanese ryokan - one of the finest and I'd recommend the experience to anyone. But alas, just as with any grand hotel, if you go in the off season, don't expect it to be busy. THANK YOU to nishimuraya honkan for your wonderful hospitality, if you're thinking about going - I'd absolutely recommend it, a wonderful, traditional & luxurious experience.
