The Thermenmuseum in Heerlen contains the remnants of a gigantic Roman bathhouse that is 2,500 m2 in size. This is the Netherlands' best preserved Roman building at 2000 years old. The new exhibition will open in the spring of 2012: Roman Heerlen; the true story. The exhibition answers the question what the Romans' arrival meant for South Limburg. You may also like to visit the interactive exhibition The Spirit of the Urn, which takes a look a Roman urn found in 2003. It is 1800 years old and was also found with fifty burial gifts.
