Hollow Knight Lore and Plot Explained
Hollow Knight is pretty confusing. Hopefully this video makes the game a little less confusing. But it might make it more confusing.
This video has been deemed about 80% accurate by a play tester and good friend of the development team.
There are many things I assumed, despite the lack of evidence. For example, we don't know for sure if the Hollow Knight was locked in the temple of the Black Egg before or after the Dreamers were put to sleep. Since smalls details like that don't really change the story that much, I didn't spend time in the video bringing them up.
Let me know in the comment section what I got wrong or what I should have mentioned. Also, share your own theories about Hollow Knight's story. Theorizing is super fun and I want to hear your ideas.

----------------------------------------------------------------
Ok, so this video is actually getting some attention, which fucking sucks because it's littered with inaccurate information and poorly written jokes. My original plan was to annotate the shit out of any wrong statements in the video, but I just now realized that YouTube has removed the annotation feature. So I'm shit out of luck on that front.
That picture of the development team does not feature Dave Kazi. That photo was taken while Team Cherry was developing Hungry Knight for Game Jams. The person I mistoke Kazi for was Rohan Fraser.
Grimm Troupe had nothing to do with Deepnest. Guess we'll have to wait until Hornet DLC for that trilobite shrine.
Apparently Hegemol is pronounced hey-geh-mol.
The secret room in the Weaver's Den does not have Hornet's head shape on it. It appears to be the shape of the Hollow Knight's head. I don't know how I missed that. Pathetic.
Around the 10:24 mark I start talking about how the Pale King and the moth tribe sealed the Radiance away. In the video, I spend way too much time talking about my own little pet theory than presenting the evidence for the more widespread and accepted view. So here's a fast and dirty explanation. The Radiance controlled the land of Hallownest. She created the moth race and ruled over the husks. These husks were kept in the Radiance's hivemind. Then the Pale King showed up. He convinced the moth tribe to forget the Radiance and granted the bugs free will or an independent mind. Basically the husks in Hallownest are dumb shits and are influenced by whatever gods happen to be around them, I guess. The more intelligent beings, ie. Mantises, Bees, whatever, were probably not influenced by the Radiance at this time. So yeah, the Radiance probably was the previous ruler of Hallownest. I mean, her head is shaped like a crown for fucks sake, there's only one other character in the game with a feature like that, the Pale King. So yeah, I encourage you to do your own research on this event, as well as the rest of Hollow Knight's lore. I'm no voice of authority on this, so don't hold my words as gospel or anything like that.
How Long Does It Take To Get To The Moon?
In a previous episode, I talked about how long it takes spacecraft to fly from the Earth to Mars.
The Moon is much closer, so how long does it take spacecraft, possibly containing humans, to make the journey?
The Moon orbits at an average distance of 384,000 kilometers.
If you drove the distance from the Earth to the Moon at highway speeds, it would take you about 145 days of solid driving.
Too long? Car won't fly through space? No problem! Rockets can get you going much faster.
The first spacecraft to make the run was the Soviet Luna 1 probe. It completed a flyby in 1959.
Luna 1 wasn't trying to get into orbit. It was there to whiz past the Moon and take a few pictures as it went.
It completed the journey in only 36 hours, traveling at a speed of 10,500 kilometers per hour.
If a spacecraft is trying to actually achieve lunar orbit, it needs to approach a little slower.
Luna 10, also a Soviet craft, was the first to go into orbit around the Moon. It launched on March 31, 1966, and reached the Moon 4 days later.
The Apollo 11 astronauts launched on July 16, 1969, and arrived at the Moon 3 days later. They followed a similar trajectory to Luna 10, since their goal was to go into lunar orbit.
As there's harmful radiation in space, it's best to minimize the travel time for human astronauts.
Spacecraft can go much slower too. When the European Space Agency's Smart-1 spacecraft made the journey, it used an advanced ion engine drive.
This engine produces a minute amount of thrust, and as a result it uses just a tiny amount of fuel.
It launched on November 27th, 2003, and took more than 13 months to complete the journey, using only 82 kilograms of xenon propellant for its entire mission, crashing in 2006.
The quickest time to get from the Earth to the Moon has to be NASA's New Horizons spacecraft.
Although its final destination is Pluto in 2015, New Horizons flew past the Moon traveling at 58,000 km/hour.
It made the journey in only 8 hours and 35 minutes.
So If you're just doing a flyby, you can make the trip in a few hours.
If you want to go into orbit, give yourself a few days. And if you're just out on a jaunt, you can go ahead and take more than a year.
Just keep that in mind when you're packing for your future lunar holiday.

ROBERT E. LEE - WikiVidi Documentary
Robert Edward Lee was an American and Confederate soldier, best known as a top army commander of the Confederate States of America. He commanded the Army of Northern Virginia in the American Civil War from 1862 until his surrender in 1865. A son of Revolutionary War officer Henry Light Horse Harry Lee III, Lee was a top graduate of the United States Military Academy and an exceptional officer and military engineer in the United States Army for 32 years. During this time, he served throughout the United States, distinguished himself during the Mexican–American War, and served as Superintendent of the United States Military Academy. When Virginia declared its secession from the Union in April 1861, Lee chose to follow his home state, despite his desire for the country to remain intact and an offer of a senior Union command. During the first year of the Civil War, Lee served as a senior military adviser to Confederate President Jefferson Davis. Once he took command of the main field ...

Biblical Series I: Introduction to the Idea of God
Lecture I in my Psychological Significance of the Biblical Stories series from May 16th at Isabel Bader Theatre in Toronto. In this lecture, I describe what I consider to be the idea of God, which is at least partly the notion of sovereignty and power, divorced from any concrete sovereign or particular, individual person of power. I also suggest that God, as Father, is something akin to the spirit or pattern inherent in the human hierarchy of authority, which is based in turn on the dominance hierarchies characterizing animals.

IKEA – Silence The Critics - TV Advert 90 #WonderfulEveryday
When it comes to hosting, we all have those little voices in the back of our heads that say our home isn’t up to the job. And whether it’s the chipped mug, the crack in the wall, the weirdly shaped bathroom, or the living room that has as much personality as a cardboard box, the voices seem to zoom in on our biggest fears and magnify them until we declare our home a no-go zone. But at IKEA, we believe every home is worthy of a get together and that with a little imagination and some clever IKEA products and ideas, there’s no reason not to host. In this campaign we want to inspire the nation to get their homes party ready. And Silence The Critics, once and for all.

Review:
It does exactly what a movie is supposed to do! It lets your imagination run away with you. It lets you forget all your worries for a time. The music is Fantastic!!! It is haunting and relaxing at the same time. Sean Connery is of course, wonderful in his part. Christopher Lambert has a way of making you feel what he feels. The scenery is utterly gorgeous. The special effects are very well done.Makes you want to live forever and at the same time glad that you don't! Worrying about getting your head cut off sure makes our bills seem like such tiny little problems! Great entertainment!! A must see for the fiction fan. Written by dbrigley.
