Up over Thirsk Racecourse.
Wanted just to see how the stability control was and also the Return to Home function on the Quadcopter today. No better place than Thirsk Racecourse. I would love to be able to film a race day... maybe one day.

Currency
Britain’s currency is the pound sterling (£), which is divided into 100 pence (p).
Scotland has its own pound sterling notes. These represent the same value as an English note and can be used elsewhere in Britain. The Scottish £1 note is not accepted outside Scotland.
There are lots of bureaux de change in Britain – often located inside:
• banks
• travel agents
• Post Offices
• airports
• major train stations.
It's worth shopping around to get the best deal and remember to ask how much commission is charged.

Time Difference
During the winter months, Britain is on Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), which is 5 hours ahead of Eastern Standard Time and 10 hours behind Sydney. Western standard time is five hours behind.
From late March until late October, the clocks go forward one hour to British Summer Time (BST).
To check the correct time, contact the Speaking Clock service by dialling 123.

Britain is officially metric, in line with the rest of Europe. However, imperial measures are still in use, especially for road distances, which are measured in miles. Imperial pints and gallons are 20 per cent larger than US measures.

1 foot = 30 centimetres
1 mile = 1.6 kilometres
1 ounce = 28 grams
1 pound = 454 grams
1 pint = 0.6 litres

Passport And Visas Requirements To Enter The UK
Please note: Following the recent referendum vote for the UK to leave the European Union (EU), there are currently no changes in the way people travel to Britain. The following guidelines still apply:
If you're planning an adventure to the UK, depending on your nationality and your reason for visiting, you may need to organise a visa.
If you're an American, Canadian or Australian tourist, you'll be able to travel visa-free throughout the UK, providing you have a valid passport and your reason for visiting meets the immigration rules (link is external).
Citizens from some South American and Caribbean countries as well as Japan are also able to travel visa-free around the UK.
European Union citizens, non-EU member states of the EEA (Norway, Liechtenstein and Iceland), Switzerland, and members of the Overseas Countries and Territories (OCT) do not need a visa to enter the UK.
If you have any further visa questions visit the official UK government website.

Funny my lad trying to lift me
Thirsk, North Yorkshire- presented by Natalie Eaglen #1
Thirsk is a busy little market town in North Yorkshire. It has so much to offer its residents and visitors who keep coming back every year.
A market is held in the town centre every Monday and Saturday and sells items from local fruit and veg to hand crafted gifts. Their independent shops, bars and cafes are a great way of meeting the friendly locals and to buy unique items.

Thirsk Approach [1]
I needed to get into Thirsk but was not aware Finkle Street was closed off - the old A19 ( A61) and B1448 from Northallerton was the suggested diversion.
It would be rare I ever went North along here and good light made it seem worth uploading.

HEARTSTRING The 2-y-o filly. Maiden Race at Thirsk 04/08/2018
Drawn 12 and on the outside of the group was not ideal for the fillies first race but Jason Hart rode her well to keep her working steadily in the outside of the stand side group. Never off the bridle Jason rode her hands and heels to finish 6th having had that all important enjoyable first run. Only 5 lengths behind the eventual winner she had run the kind of race we were looking for. Plenty more to come.
Gordon Richards, 1933 - Thirsk (1932)
Unused / unissued material - no paperwork - dates unclear or unknown.
Thirsk, North Yorkshire.
Various shots of the famous horse racing jockey Sir Gordon Richards at Thirsk race course. We see him riding down to the start and competing in a race. Various shots of the race. The wining horse - presumably with Richards in the saddle is led to the winner's enclosure.
More shots of Richards in a different set of racing silks. He is helped into the saddle. Various shots of Richards on horseback.
Richards in different silks and competing in other races. (He presumably had several races in the one day.
Shots of him standing around chatting to owners and trainers. He is led to the start on another mount.
