Tholos beach (Θόλοςis) located 29km eastern of Agios Nikolaos, 45 from Sitia, 23km north of Ierapetra and 3km from the village of Kavousi which is found on the main road connecting Agios Nikolaos and Sitia

Tholos beach at Crete

Tholos is located east of Agios Nikolaos and 4km north of the village Kavousi. Locals might also call it Kavoussi beach, due to the nearby settlement. The beach is formed at the exit of a fertile valley, surrounded by ancient olive groves and vineyards.
The beautiful beach of Tholos is pebbly and sandy on its west side and hosts a small harbor. There are several tamarisk trees near the beach where you can find shade.
The water is usually blur with a typical light blue color, due to the underwater springs of fresh water coming from the massif of Thipti mountain

Agriomantra, Crete, Greece | Life in POV

Agriomandra is located 24km east of Agios Nikolaos and 3km west of Kavousi village and Tholos beach. It is a genarally unknown beach, formed at the exit of the short gorge of Agriomandra. Crossing the canyon on foot is also the only way of access. To get there you should follow the dirt road that crosses the green meadows west of Kavoussi, known as Lakos Ambelion, till the entrance to the gorge. From here begins a short path, not particularly difficult, leading after 10 minutes on the beach of Agriomandra.

Μια ευχάριστη έκπληξη περιμένει όποιον περπατήσει στα σοκάκια του πανέμορφου Μινωικού χωριού Αβδού, σαράντα περίπου χιλιόμετρα Ανατολικά του Ηρακλείου.
Σχεδόν σε κάθε σπίτι υπάρχει και από μια παραδοσιακή ταμπέλα από επαγγέλματα του παρελθόντος που τα περισσότερα έσβησαν μέσα τον χρόνο και την εξέλιξη.
Το μοναδικό αυτό θέαμα είναι μια ιδέα των κατοίκων και του πολιτιστικού συλλόγου του χωριού για να θυμούνται οι παλιοί και να μαθαίνουν οι νεότεροι.
