Thousand Islands Playhouse - Canada's Dockside Theatre
The Thousand Islands Playhouse was called the most charming theatre in Canada (CBC Radio) in a breathtaking location (Toronto Star). Known as Canada's Dockside Theatre, it has been presenting live entertainment in the heart of the 1000 Islands for over 35 years. Its Springer Theatre features two decks that have a panoramic view of the St. Lawrence River. This renovated heritage venue, built in 1909, was originally the Gananoque Canoe Club, and retains the vintage cottage-style craftsmanship. Patrons can arrive to a show by water and dock right in front of the theatre.
The Thousand Islands Playhouse 2018 season features the rock & roll musical Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story, and The Canadian, a world premiere farce inspired by the 1000 Islands region.

Rick Miller returns with the sequel to his hit show BOOM that picks up at Woodstock in 1969 and weaves its way through the iconic moments that shaped Generation X. Featuring over 100 colourful characters from the days of disco, the oil crisis, Watergate, the Cold War, video games, punk rock, the (second) British Invasion, and more.

1000 Islands Association at Gananoque Playhouse - Annual Breakfast
Since 1934 the Thousand Islands Association has helped boaters in the 1000 islands region use the water safely by ensuring a series of over 300 shoals in the region are clearly marked. During the summer months the region’s population expands as people from around the globe flock to this river paradise. The association pays for this service through member fees. Nearly 200 shoal markers are placed every spring from mid-way on the Bateau Channel, north of Howe Island, all the way down River to Brockville/Morristown.
