Tripoint Border // 3 Countries at Once // Austria - Slovenia - Italy

This video features the trijunction / tripoint of Austria, Slovenia and Italy which I visited in September 2016. This point is located at the top of the mountain Ofen at 1,509m in the Karawanks mountain range.

The official border marker can be seen in the video at 02:42. This is the point where the borders of Slovenia, Italy and Austria meet. You can visit all three countries within seconds just by walking around this border stone.

Dieses Video zeigt Aufnahmen meines Besuches am Dreiländereck, einem 1508 Meter hohen Berg in den Karawanken, auf dessen Gipfel die Grenzen der Staaten Österreich, Slowenien und Italien zusammentreffen. Die nächstliegenden Gemeinden sind Arnoldstein (Österreich), Tarvisio (Italien) und Rateče (Slowenien). Die Aufnahmen entstanden im September 2016.

Tromeja (1506m) Slovenia - Austria - Italy - riding in three countries

Short but nice trail (15km), which starts in Rateče (Slovenia), goes up to the Tromeja and Skiresort Arnolstein, where you can get nice german beer, and with the downhill starting in Austria, crossing to Italy and finishing in Rateče, Slovenia.
If it is not enough, you can extend to Planica and Tamar valley, or in the direction of Podkoren and Kranjska gora.

This film shows the Italian - Austrian border which I crossed on 7 June 2013. It is great to see that there is no-one there! To approach the border leaving Tarvisio, one travels through the Coccau Tunnel from whence the road appears to descend. The border is at Unterthorl, at an elevation of approximately 634 metres. The village of Thörl-Maglern which I drive through here has a population of around 700 people.

My big interest in life is travel and history but I have also placed films on other subjects. For those that want to know more, I have groups on facebook related to motorhome travelling, history and packaging.

Central and Eastern European Packaging examines the packaging industry throughout this region, but in particular in the largest regional economies which are Russia, Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, Ukraine and Austria. That is not to say that the other countries are forgotten, they are not, but obviously there is less going on. However the fact that there are so many travel related films here is not from holidays but from business trips attending trade fairs around the region. Every packaging trade fair is a new excuse to make another film!

Peč (tudi Tromeja) po italijansko Monte Forno ter po nemško Dreiländereck oz. Ofen je 1508 m visok vrh, ki se nahaja na tromeji med Slovenijo, Italijo in Avstrijo. Z vrha, na katerem je večje število spominskih obeležij v treh jezikih, se nam odpre lep razgled na Julijske Alpe, Ziljske Alpe, Krške Alpe, Visoke in Nizke Ture ter del zahodnih Karavank. Slovenska vpisna skrinjica in žig, se nahaja ob manjši hiški bližnjih oddajnikov. Na italijanski strani vrha stoji nekoliko večje leseno zavetišče, iz avstrijske strani pa skoraj do vrha pripelje vlečnica bližnjega smučišča Podklošter / Arnoldstein.

My father showed me great mtb trail starting from a tripoint between Slovenia, Austria and Italia. The views at all three country's mountains were breathtaking. We had to stop several times to try and gather mushrooms:)

Via Alpina #13 - Dreiländerecke

20-5-2018 Restarting the Via Alpina after some rest in Kranjska Gora with a hike of 15km/700m. Dropped off at the Slovenian-Austrian border I hiked towards the 3-countries point: Slovenia, Austria and Italy. From now on I’ll follow the Austrian-Italian border for quite a while. I walked the route mostly in the clouds with sometimes less than 30m sight. Towards the decent the wheather cleared up and when I entered Thörl-Maglern the sun was shining! #viaalpina2018

Dall’alto si possono ammirare le Alpi Giulie, le Alpi del Gail, le Alpi della Gurktal, gli Alti e i Bassi Tauri e una parte delle Caravanche occidentali.

Zima je bila topla, uničujoča in z zelo malo snega v nižinah. Toda 7. februar si bomo zapomnili. Sneg na poljih je pomrznil in lahko smo tekli kjer koli smo hoteli. Nastal je tale kratek romantičen filmček, ko smo tekli iz Maribora do letališča in nazaj. Naslednji dan je jugozahodnik pobral že večino snega....
